Hotel berhampiran Uchimaki Hotspring di Aso

We are so happy we booked this hotel for heading to Mt Aso. First, the staff greeting was super warm and welcoming. The hotel is brand new and while our room was a great and functional design, the bed was the most comfortable western-style bed we’ve had in all of Japan! It’s location is super convenient if you arrive by train (it’s across the street) and while they don’t really have dining facilities, there is a fun outdoor market right outside where we grabbed dinner: meat skewers, mustard greens biscuit and a delicious craft beer (there is also ramen and a few other food choices).

A traditional onsen hotel, recently renovated and facilities modernised. The twin bed room is large - about 50 sq m in size. In addition, there is a balcony overlooking an excellent view. The breakfast and dinner buffet are fine, though not very special. I like the Japanese style dinner better. The hotel is situated inside the mountain. Access is not easy. There are no shops nearby.

The accommodation at ASO Base Backpackers was cozy, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The dormitory-style rooms were clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and ample storage space. The communal areas, such as the lounge and kitchen, were inviting and provided opportunities to connect with fellow travelers from around the world. The hostel fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among guests, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. One of the highlights of my stay was the opportunity to explore the surrounding area. ASO Base Backpackers offers a range of outdoor activities and excursions, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the natural wonders of Aso. From hiking trails to hot springs, there was no shortage of adventures to embark on. The staff was readily available to provide guidance and assistance in planning these activities, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience. 熊本に居る長男家族4人と宿泊、熊本に住んで6年ぐらいになるのに黒川温泉に泊まった事がないそうで、わざわざ埼玉から費用全額当方負担で孫孝行しました、、何のことやら(笑) 宿は、黒川温泉では大型旅館でしたが、温泉は夕方4時と夜8時と翌日朝7時に入ったのですが何故かほぼ独占状態、竹林に囲まれた大きな内風呂、檜風呂二つと露天風呂、立ち寄り客も入れる露天風呂付き温泉の3ヶ所あり、2番目が1番良かったかな、泉質は単純泉 部屋は普通の和室だけど、横を流れる川から滝の音が聞こえていい感じ、食事はバイキングで 夕食の赤酢のマグロ寿司が絶品、後は、串揚げ各種とかカンパチ刺身、ローストビーフ、小学校の孫は鰻を5巻食べて食べ過ぎ状態、、ドリンクが飲み放題で焼酎の飲み比べが出来た！　黒川温泉の焼酎美味かったなー、朝食もバイキングで納豆と牛乳が地元産で美味かった 夜は天体望遠鏡で木星と月を見せて貰いました、孫は感動！ 街中散策は寒さでやらず、宿に留まっただけだけどゆっくり出来ました 家族連れで楽しめる宿と思います

Lovely place, beautiful cabin, great food and impeccable service. Only thing is that our balcony was next to the road, so the traffic affected the tranquil experience a bit. Oh, and check out on time, you will get charged an overtime fee if you are (a bit) late! But all in all a 100% recommendation

あまりにも残念な滞在となりました。 チェックイン後部屋へ向かおうとしたら、スタッフの女性が駆け寄り、「こちらです」と誘導してくれたのでついて行くと、途中で走り出したので、こちらもスーツケースを引っ張りながら走ると「いえいえ、そこのエレベーター乗って下さい」と言い残し、そのまま走ってどこかへ行ってしまいました。その通りにエレベーターへ乗るも、探しても部屋がない。もう一度一階へ戻るとまたそのスタッフの女性がいたので聞くと、悪びれもせず「あー、新館の方でした。あちらです。」と。 そして、夕食の時間になったので部屋を出ようとするも鍵がかからない。オートロックのはずなのに、ドアを押すと開いてしまう。建て付けが悪いのか、鍵が入っていかずロックされない。フロントに電話すると、女性のスタッフがすぐに来てくれたが「少々お待ち下さい」と言って行ったまま30分音沙汰無し。30分経過し催促してやっと男性のスタッフがやってきたが、「満室のため部屋を移動できない。業者を呼んで修理します。」と言われたが、「修理が終わるまで食事へも行かず待たなければならないんですか？」　と聞いたところで、「キャンセルの部屋が出たので、そちらの部屋へどうぞ。」とのこと。 夕食は「赤牛コース」にしたが、これまた極端に料理が少ない。赤牛は2×5センチ厚さ5ミリ程の少量の牛肉が2枚に小鉢が３つ程に馬刺しとお刺身少々。温泉宿でこんなに少量の料理は初めてです。小食の方には良いかもしれません。また、外国人のスタッフが茶碗蒸しを運んでくれたが、何故か茶碗蒸し用のスプーン付きの皿の上に置かず、テーブルの上に置かれました。 また貸切風呂についても、早朝行ったら浴槽の縁に使用済みの歯ブラシとフロスが置かれていました。コロナ禍の中でなくてもゾッとします。 チェックアウトでは、謝罪の一言もありませんでした。部屋を変えたからもうその件は済んだって事ですか⁇朝礼でスタッフに言っておきます、という言葉はその場しのぎの嘘ですか⁇ 旅行が好きで海外旅行へもよく行きますが、こんなに酷い対応の宿は初めてです。ホテルなのに鍵がかからないなんてあり得ませんし、30分も放っておくなんて考えられません。セーフティーボックスも完備してありましたが、それ以前の問題です。 　ご利用の皆様、お気をつけ下さい。

a very lovely stay at hanamura. staff were very friendly and welcoming. the private onsen was really good. the place is not easily assessible by public transport but not a problem if you have a car.

Like the onsen in the hotel; onsen water is good and big enough for 6-7 person to use. Japanese breakfast served by staff was quite substantial and tasty. The room that we stayed is quiet and faces mountain and park. Bathroom a little small but clean. There wasn’t any wardrobe but there were hooks on the wall and hangers were provided.

Very good service once we arrived the hotel. Chinese & some overseas staffs normally can communicate in English, Chinese & Japanese. Comfort room & private spa. we enjoy.
