Good location and fairly new interior. The value for money is 5/5. Accessible to city walks during night time.

The room was compact but had everything I needed - a comfortable bed, a small table with two seats, a microwave and fridge, coffee maker. I liked that the room was not done in neutral colours, but instead rich, dark patterns. WiFi worked well but the TV had no connection to anything. Everything very clean. Nice bar and outside area downstairs, with an Italian restaurant as well, but I didn't eat there. Location is just across Karangahape Road on Upper Queen Street - a good location if using buses to come from or go to the airport, as the stops are within 50 metres.

Great facilities! There are gym and cozy library. The room is decent size. There is coffee machine, fridge and microwave. Great accommodation for the price!

Bus station nearby but still a little far walking to Queen street . Mini kitchen in the room but no cooking pot and knife. Coffee machine is good. Restaurants around all shutdown, business is not running well.. cables bridge hanging up on the roof in the room, looks weird ..nz$200 security deposit demanded when check in but return in 24h after check out.

I travel a lot and usually stay at the 5 star chains. . When I was told to stay in central Auckland, looked on Trip and my choices were between Abstract and the Mercure similar price deals. I opted for this small hote and paid for a night with breakfast.l. I was glad I did. It was a comfortable little place. The front desk staff were lovely. I checked in after a hard day of meetings and my China Union pay couldn't process the deposit. It was raining in Auckland and I.had no cash. The receptionists professionally let me through (they could probably tell that I'd had a hard day!). Studio room I had was just right for me. Water preassure in the shower was great. They had nice hot chocolate and mugs were big so you can warm your hands They had two small counters for breaklast, but they had all the usual breakfast goodness with falafel also. The owner may be Greek. Breakfast staff seemed genuinely happy to be serving breakfast shift. I was tired and asked if I could have a late check~out. Receptionists smilingly obliged. I'd return to this hotel any winter day in Auckland. Thank you for listing it Trip!

The unit was tiny, super tiny. Bathroom was so small that the sink was half size. The water would get all over the floor every time you use it. I had stayed in a nearby hotel 2 weeks prior. Room Was much bigger, cleaner and the hotel was close to main street. And I paid $20 usd less. This hotel is further out, smaller and MORE expensive. They do have free washer/dryer ( Dryer didnt work well) but you need your own detergent. But you will not find a travel size detergent anywhere nearby, you have to purchase a 1 kg powder. What a waste. Shop around, there are better options for much less $$.

Abstract Hotel was fairly central - it is located on Queen St which is a direct 15 min walk into town. There are some bars around the corner which means it’s bustling at night, but would recommend some extra vigilance as a solo female traveler. The rooms are very compact but generally roomy enough for one. There’s no view as the windows look directly into another building so I kept the blinds closed, and the bed is propped up against the corridor wall but there weren’t any sound disturbances. Reception was friendly and helpful. The room was a little dusty along the exposed beams of the ceiling where the wiring and piping is done, but does not impede on the overall experience!

The hotel was clean, but we found our coffee machine was not working, we had just one glass, and no replacement toilet paper- very minor things that didn't matter but were mild annoyances. The lack of air conditioning made it a little uncomfortable because it was a hot night.

Pretty good stay, coffee machine is a nice touch. Room has everything you need, would recommend using the fresh air fan in the room otherwise it gets stuffy. Would be good if kitchenware was provided (as the room has a kitchen...) rather than having to ask for it. A bigger bin in the room is needed too.

Great stay. This time the room was in a quiet area and with more light. We liked that more than the one before.

Good location, friendly staff, nice facility. Only problem was luck of air conditioner. Great restaurant.

Perfectly reasonable hotel, the room included a small kitchen with stove, fridge, dinnerware and microwave, pans and cooking utensils are not there by default but can be requested. The rooms did not have airconditioning (although the included fan was quite powerful and quiet), nevertheless I imagine it can get uncomfortable during the peak of summer.

Very nice bar area! Clean rooms, very good coffee/tea facilities in the deluxe room. Communal laundry area. Great location. Would definitely book again.
