La Maison Grivolas Appartements et Maison d'hôtes

This is a wonderful property convenient to everything. Mathieu is the best host we have ever had, making reservations and recommendations, delivering a fantastic breakfast daily, arranging for laundry service and assisting with the car park. Communications were excellent and timely utilizing What App. The room was a sizable suite and had everything we needed with kitchen facilities if desired. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed for 3 nights . Our small suite was spacious , stylish and very well equipped, providing all the little extras that will make your stay as comfortable as possible. Maison is perfectly located for easy access to the city and all the main sites . Matthieu and Caroline are extremely helpful , suggesting interesting things to do and are in every way the perfect hosts. A particular mention goes to the delicious Breakfast served out on the little courtyard

We stayed for 3 nights. You can’t believe from the street with a school opposite what you will find - a hidden gem with lovely apartment room and a beautiful terrace with a small pool. We didn’t really get a chance to speak to Caroline but Mathieu was very engaging and helpful. Gave some lovely recommendations for restaurants and took us on an unforgettable wine tour. The add on breakfast was fabulous. We don’t normally eat breakfast in but could not have surpassed the breakfast here. We would definitely come back in a heartbeat.

Centrally located with a short distance to the city centre. Great large apartments with a lovely breakfast that was served in a cozy backyard with a small pool. The pool was great to cool off in. The hosts were very nice and contributed to a great stay.

Amazing long weekend at Maison Grivolas, a perfect base for a relaxing trip. Right in the heart of the old walled town of Avignon with everything in walking distance but still somehow an oasis of peace in the beautiful garden. The little swimming pool was a godsend in the hot weather too! We had the one-bed suite which was gorgeous - a double bed on a mezzanine and a double sofa bed, and its own kitchen. Everything was spotless and stylish. Even pool towels were provided, and there was wine available to buy at a very reasonable price in the room too! Our host was tremendous, and invited us to use the garden as our own which we eagerly did - bringing back a feast from the local market to picnic in the garden one day, and spending a lazy evening with a bottle of wine there another. Breakfasts were fabulous too, all procured fresh that morning and such a blissful treat to sit in the garden with it. We LOVED Avignon - old churches, courtyard cafes and winding old streets with almost no traffic, perfect for strolling around, browsing the shops, bit of a wander through the papal palace and old bridge and plenty of fantastic food and wine. We took a train from Marseille airport and walked to the guest house from Avignon Central station - not a problem if you have a backpack or wheely bag, took about 20 mins. Highly recommend Maison Grivolas as the most peaceful, welcoming and relaxing spot for a great holiday and I definitely hope to return!

The hosts, Mathieu et Caroline, make you feel comfortable and welcome as soon as you arrive. They are very friendly and helpful, but also provide you with your privacy. My husband and I stayed 6 nights, 3 in the Capricieuse apartment and 3 in the Malicieuse. Both apartments are equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We cooked a few meals with ease after picking up fresh ingredients from the local market and near by shops. The decor and furnishings are well appointed and the beds comfortable. Both apartments provide plenty of space. The pool area and terraces are very inviting. We enjoyed the pool a number of times in the late afternoon after spending the day seeing the sights in Avignon and around Provence. It was lovely to have a place to relax and cool off on a hot day. We also used the terrance tables to enjoy dinner, lunch, or a glass of wine in the evening. We had the breakfast offered by our hosts twice during our stay and it was delicious both times, including fresh fruit, eggs, pancakes, homemade yogurt, baguette, cheeses, nuts and seeds, coffee and juice - a wonderful spread. Mathieu and Caroline even offered to do a load of laundry for us, which was unexpected and greatly appreciated! These two work very hard to make everything perfect for there guests. We highly recommend a stay at La Maison Grivolas and we hope to be able to come back and stay again sometime. If you enjoy wine, I would also recommend taking the wine tour offered by Mathieu and Caroline. We had a great day with Mathieu on our wine tour, and learned a lot about how the wine is grown in this area. Thank you, Mathieu and Caroline, we truly felt at home with you.
