Hotel berhampiran The Citadel di Baku

I am still in this hotel and expects to check out next day. First thing first, I booked 2 nights and the first room they allocated was 323. Noisy from karaoke or band till 11.30Pm even with soundproofing. The bed, kingsize but on the right side sank and if you were to roll to the left side you will feel it feels higher and also the design of the toilet is atrocious seemingly clean at a glance but look closer. The toilet hanger is so high up only tall people can reach the towels. I feedback and was given another room 325. It was better but cleanliness of toilet is still substandard. Next, I checked out after the 2nd night when I queried if I could stow my luggage in the hotel to stay in Sheki for 1 night. They accepted to store my luggage. The day after, I return to check in again for 1 more night and this is my last night in this country. When I enquired with the reception about my luggage, he went out of the reception went to the lobby corner and pull my luggage. I was horrified to see all these while it was not stowed properly in a store room but pushed at one corner of the hotel lobby out in the open where there is a lot of traffic. When enquired with the staff why is this so, he did not response and looked *****ic at me. When I arrived from Tbilisi I had encountered attempted theft from tbilisi airport and now this. This is too much stress for a holiday. The reason for choosing this hotel is because they are near the old city and they have a lift. Find elsewhere they have no regards for people's property.

My husband and I stayed 6 nights at the Sheraton Baku in Oct 2023. We were happy with the location, near the water and close to the old city. The room was average size, the bed and pillows were comfy, the bathroom had a large shower with rain and hand held shower nozzles, the tv had several international channels in English and other languages. The room faced the waterfront and had a large balcony with table and 2 chairs. All along the waterfront is a promenade and parkland for people to bike, walk, play. This public area extends the length of the downtown area. We had trouble with the A/C in our room, but after attempts over 2 days to fix it, reception moved us to another room. There is a wonderful restaurant where we had dinner a few nights. We tried pizza, soup, spaghetti bolognese and several salads and were very pleased. The staff were attentive. The restaurant has a nice ambience with an outdoor patio. The lounge area has so many fantastic coffee table books. Huge books that weigh a ton on art, culture, history, architecture, etc. The breakfast buffet was outstanding with many delicious dishes: fresh fruits and veggies, breads, cheeses, hot items, and eggs to order. Breakfast staff were attentive and eager to please. Elbaciz the F&B supervisor was always on top of things, making sure we were happy with the food and arranging to get us some coffee or whatever else we needed. The chef Mazahir always made us the perfect soft boiled eggs. The whole breakfast team were great. I would recommend this hotel for comfort and close to the old city.

I don’t normally take the time to review places but considering that they market themselves as a 5 star hotel I want to make sure other people considering this hotel know what to expect at least. For context We stayed in this hotel for a week as a family (2 kids) in a connecting family room. First off when we arrived and checked in, the guy at reception said they would check our documents and to please wait in their restaurant. We ordered some drinks and waited. Meanwhile suddenly they start blasting Indian music so loud in the restaurant (it was only us and another family there) that we had to go ask them if they could please turn it back down again. I don’t know for who or why they put the music on so loud. This also happened when we ate breakfast one morning. After maybe 20 minutes we went to ask reception how check in was going and were only told that “they were checking”. We decided to go and get some late lunch since we didn’t know how long we needed to wait for them to “check” whatever they were checking. If the room wasn’t ready, it wouldn’t have been a problem if they simply said so and gave us a time frame for when it would be ready. But this was a taste of the service to come unfortunately. We had a connecting family room that had one bathroom to share. The master bedroom had only a window which was a small and by the ceiling facing out into the hallway (so no external window) which meant it was like sleeping with lights on all night as the hallway light were always on. In this case perhaps a curtain for that window would be good or installing sensor lights in the hallway so the light isn’t on unless someone is there. The rooms were SO warm and when we went to check about the air conditioning they told us it wasn’t working or they didn’t have it. (Not sure which was the correct answer) They couldn’t give us a straight answer. They told us the heating had been on the night before but that they had now switched it off and allowed for “air” instead. So whatever control you have in your room is basically useless. When we asked if they could allow for the air conditioning to be turned on they just told us they would sort it out but nothing got done. We had to sleep with the only external window open during the night so at least our kids could be more comfortable. Other important things to note - we got 2 towels for 4 people. We asked them to bring 2 more which wasn’t done. Only when we saw a cleaner outside in the hallway one evening (3 nights into our stay) did we get 2 more. - there was no cleaning the whole week. We asked for more water, asked if someone would come to at least remove the garbage and they told us they would send someone but never did. - as shown in the photos, one of the single beds was broken underneath. - several sheets/duvet covers were broken, one example shown in the photos. - there was cigarette burns on the double bed headboard despite it being a non-smoking room. الصراحة جاية من جدة من أجل هذا الفندق الرائع بشكله المبدع وحصل واجهت مشكلة واول مرة أواجهة مثل هذا المشكلة في التأخير في سداد المبلغ من المسؤلين في باكو رغم شركة المسافر تم تسديد المبلغ من شركة المسافر قبل 7ايام وكنت في انتظار استلام القرفة تفاحاءت بأن المبلغ لم يسلم والصراحة وبكل مصداقية كان تعامل الموظفين رائع والادارة رائعة المدير كان جدا رائع والمديرة رائع والغالي شاهين من أروع التعامل وتم تعويضي بغرفة سويت وعشاء أقدم أجمل عبارات الشكر والتقدير والاحترام والصراحة عملت للفندق دعاية حلوة لمتبعيني في السناب و صديقاتي وأهلي snap. kokandyrrأ ل مع شكري واحترامي لجمع المسؤلين عن الفندق وشكر خاص للمدير والأستاذ شاهين

اشكر كل من موظفي الاستقبال وخاصة السيد فارق قاسم (farik) حيث قام بترقيية حجزي من غرفة عادية قياسية الي غرفة سبريوم مطلة علي البحر وهو من الموظفين الذي لديهم كارزما لطيفة وصاح وجه مبتسم وايضا موظف الاستقبال الدر الذي يبذل كل مافي وسعة لارضاء الضيوف . الفندق يتميز بموقع استراتيجي حيث يقع اما مول صغير بحجمة ولكن يلبي جميع احتاجات المتسوقين وامام البحر ومقابل البلوفارد ويلتصق بالفندق جسر مشاة لعبور الشارع وايضا الفندق قريب من شارع نظامي . لايحتاج المقيم بالفندق الي التاكسي حيث جميع المواقع السياحية قريبة منه انصح بالاقامة فية

It is a most convenient and comfortable hotel in this area. i feel like a home. Excellent service good language ability of reception staff.

Good place to go everywhere. Near by Nizami street. If i come again Baku, i will stay here again. The most friendly staff is Husain bellman. He is smiling always.

Excellent upmarket hotel. Very friendly staff, nothing too big or small. Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Missed a night so they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a suite facing the old town / overlooking the flame towers. Lovely room, cleaned twice per day and comfy beds. There’s a lovely bar on site which also had a pianist on the Friday evening; plus a whiskey/ cigar lounge which was pleasant. Drinks in both were great. Also used the room service option. Chocolate fondant was excellent, chicken sandwich average but a decent selection and prices of the mini bar fridge weren’t unreasonable. There is also a spa on site, although didn’t use it prices weren’t advertised and couldn’t find much online (even tried downloading the four seasons app). Did ring them to get prices but can’t recall what they are. The hotel also has an ATM which is really handy as taxis are predominantly cash based if you use the Bolt app to get a driver. You can also rent scooters to get around the city which are a very short walk away from the hotel (and worth it considering the traffic!). Felt very safe here and would definitely return back to the same hotel again.

Уютный отель, хорошее расположение. В номерах чисто, сами номера просторные. Вежливый персонал. Вкусный завтрак, но не совсем разнообразный. В номерах не хватает освещения, так как очень высокие потолки, а лампы на такую квадратуру не тянут)
