The facility itself is nice but for the my version of a 5 star rating the resort would need to meet the standard of Peninsula Tokyo or the Park Hyatt in Kyoto. Unfortunately the facility doesn’t not meet that standard. What will make up for the lack of the amenities, cleanliness and attention to detail is the service provider. From the front desk to the waiter and waitress, to the cleaning Male/ladies, the service staff will go above and beyond to meet your needs. Last draw back is the sand flies (nik nik as the locals refer to them) are pesky little suckers….literally which makes one hesitant to enjoy the beautiful beach on the resort…which then leads to you missing the beautiful sunrise and sunset that one would expect in paradise. Over all, yes i would gladly return to this facility. It is probably the best on the island but I cannot on good conscience say the this is a 5star resort.

The location is good and their facilities is awesome. However, i felt disappointed to the smell of the lobby it smells off and feels like dirty because there’s a lot of flies flying everywhere & I don’t know why. Also the cushions and set also in the main lobby looks dirty. This is the first impression of mine thinking that this is one of the luxury resorts in El nido. It would be appreciated if their lobby is clean and smells nice because as a guest this would be there’s first impression upon entering in the hotel.

El nido, Palawan is one of the tourist spots visited in the Philippines. With that being said my Family decided to go on a vacation in this place. The moment we arrived in Puerto Princesa airport it was exhilarating imagining what more there is when we arrive in El Nido. From there we had a roundtrip airport shuttle provided for a surcharge which is available upon request. We stayed in El Nido Garden Resort hotel for four nights and we had the best experience. The place was spacious and immaculate, the staff were accommodating, the food was amazing and the view was breathtaking. Outside you can take a stroll and or swim even at night since they have a swimming pool. You can do recreational activities there and wrap it up with a drink at their mini lounge/bar. Their location is very accessible to many Beaches if you wanted to visit some such as Lio and Nacpan. At night you can also come to restaurants around the area but I assure you the foods in this hotel are enough to satisfy your tongue. They are open at 7-9 AM, your hunger will surely be gone. They have big air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen televisions each. Every room has private balconies and you can even hang your damp clothes there! Private bathrooms have showers complimented with toiletries and hair dryers. You can make yourself at home there and relax while taking some time off.

We’ve just finished a 6 night stay at El Nido Resorts Pangulasian. Every moment of it was absolute heaven. Spacious villas, luxurious pool and spectacular views no matter where you look. Complimentary activities were well thought through and timed to perfection to make sure we missed the crowds at busy locations like the lagoons. I also did 2 scuba dives with their resident Divemaster and was lucky enough to see some sea turtles. I’ve also spent hours snorkelling on their house reef where there was lots of tropical fish to see, also some rays. They have some resident monitor lizards and monkeys which was great to see. All in all a fantastic stay, I would highly recommend.

Lihim Resort has exceeded our expectations. The resort is beautiful, clean, cozy, peaceful, and relaxing. Every staff makes sure that you are well taken care of. The amenities are all clean. Food at Gana was amazing. Our butlers were wonderful and helpful. Our only complaint was the food at Henri’s which was supposed to be a fine dining. For the price that we paid for, I don’t think it’s worth it. My husband and my daughter ended up throwing up after having dinner at Henri’s. The view was spectacular though, especially when you want to watch the sunset. I’d definitely recommend Lihim Resort. My family and I are already planning our next visit and we wish to have the same set of butlers when we go.

Booked a ”dorm” room which is basically a private room. The hotel is located at vanilla beach which is a very nice beach to swim and tan. The Town is a bit far away but doable by tricycle or scooter. The view is amazing and the lobby is also a nice place to sit around. Special thanks to the employees who were so nice and helpfull. Liked it so much i extended my stay there.
The only downside was that there is no hot water in the room but its not cold either. And lots of mosquitos at night.

The resort is in a great location with a small but quiet beach and a nice house reef outside. Beware that some units require walking up a lot of steps and the ones set away from the beach have a lot of mosquitoes around.
The staff are super friendly and nice although the service of the hotel could be more attentive i.e when lying on the beach you don’t get asked if you want drinks. Room cleaning was only done once in our 7 day stay and only because we asked for it. Towels are not automatically offered to beach goers all the time.
The restaurant is pretty slow with almost an hour for food to arrive sometimes. The food itself can be nice depending on what you order. Some is pretty good actually…others a bit average.
Pricewise, this isn’t a cheap hotel and I feel that if you compare the price to resorts in other tropical beach locations around the world, you get much better service in other places like Sheratons, Marriotts and Hiltons etc. that said, overall I would still recommend Matinloc for the great beach and reef.

El desayuno terrible. No vale la pena pagar tanto si lo estan escogiendo por el desayuno.
Todas las mañanas todo estaba vacío y tenias que golpear en la cocina para pedirles por favor huevos, manteca, pancakes, etc. la predisposición de los empleados muy mala.
La limpieza medio pelo. Las toallas las doblaban y te ponian las mismas. Nos quedamos sin gelshower y shampoo y nunca se repuso.

Stayed here for four nights, and the pluses are the central location, the absolutely wonderful staff, big bed and strong AC. The rooms itself were also decent. A few huge let downs: The bathroom is absolutely filthy and I'm including some pictures here. The sink board is rotting off and there is mould everywhere. Really didn't want to use this bathroom and was one reason we wanted to cancel our full booking. The breakfast is quite a let down. Food is old and stale. One of the guests found a worm in one of the buns (okay, maybe a milk worm) but then we also saw a cockroach running around by the bread station. If you are staying here over a Saturday and if you're facing the road, you are going to find it difficult to sleep. The Kaws theme is also a weird one, the whole hotel is Kaws themed. The hotel is near a beach but it's not swimmbale. The hotel also seems to have a public notice from the government for improper sewer water discharge? This is posted at the front of the hotel. Amazing staff, but I wouldn't stay here again. Another weird point is that staff take copies of your passport visas. I don't see why they need to do this as they just need the ID page.

The hotel itself is brand new, beautifully designed, and equipped with high-quality amenities. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated to provide a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The combination of stylish interiors and excellent service created the perfect atmosphere for our getaway.

AAlma CMy husband and I celebrated our second year anniversary at Cauayan. We considered other resorts but we have definitely made the right choice. The island is just breathtaking! We were greeted with a warm welcome by the hotel staff and were escorted to our beautiful villa. My husband arranged a private tour of El Nido islands, where we ended up visiting about 7 spots with our guide even acting as our photographer (he took fantastic photos and videos too). In terms of food, the buffet breakfast offered a wide array of food selection. For lunch / dinner, we enjoyed all that we ordered (though some are really very spicy, so take note). The bar staff can concoct amazing drinks as per your mood & whim. I particularly enjoyed the spa and wished I booked a much longer massage. Our stay at the island became so much more meaningful when we witnessed hawksbill sea turtles being released to the ocean….As amazing as all these are, the best part of our stay in Cauayan is the friendly and customer focused staff. They prioritize the customers’ needs, always have a smile on their faces and have just made our stay in El Nido a memorable one. Thank you Cauayan and we will surely return for another amazing experience at your island!

PPengguna TetamuThis place went above and beyond for my family when we stayed at El Nido - The Funny Lion (June 26 - July 3). The staff are very friendly and professional. Their Customer service is 10/10. When you ask for something, they give it right away. The Manager was really kind and helpful especially to my 2 yr old daughter, Valerie. I am thankful and grateful for the team at El Nido - The Funny Lion.
There are a few suggestions for improvements I would like to add: Better drainage system for shower. It always seems like the water would go out of the shower especially when it’s raining outside. Also, an elevator would be great for the guest and especially for the staff when carrying heavy luggages. The wifi spotty and could also be improved especially inside the breakfast area. A better mosquito control on the outside near the pool/restaurant area would be nice too. The people on the backyard would burn their trashes and the smoke would fill the whole air of the hotel area and would not be healthy to breathe in (I wish they wouldn’t burn right next to the hotel). This is probably nitpicking but sometimes the music that plays at the bar/restaurant area is not family friendly and uses profanity. The rooms could use a bit of feng shui or something to make it feel more spacious. The room lighting could also be improved (it always seems a little dark even with all the lights turned on).

PPengguna TetamuAn excellent hotel in the heart of El Nido town proper. It is in a chaotic area but the hotel itself is well managed and calm once you get off the street! On reflection I probably would have stayed further out of the town but that's not a comment on the hotel itself.
The hotel breakfast is great, even if you're not vegetarian or vegan which I'm not. The rooms are a good size, not to small and had balconies which is good for drying clothes.
Reception and all the staff are lovely but I'm marking down the hotel slightly due to communication. When we got to the hotel by public tricycle they seemed surprised I hadn't gone with their free hotel transfer yet I couldn't see this option anywhere on trip when booking and they hadn't attempted to contact me. Perhaps that could be improved. On the communication front it seems they have some perks which they don't advertise at all. I discovered when visiting the Heiroglyph gym by vanilla beach that access is free if you're staying at H Hotel which is a superb perk but they don't advertise it at all! Apparently they also have a sister hotel near nacpan Beach where you can use the pool.
Overall it's a very good hotel. I think it's a bit expensive but then again hotels in Philippines are generally overpriced so in that sense the price is fine.

AAl AThis is my first time to Palawan and have always wanted to visit here. It's about a 3 hour drive from Puerto Princesa, but very convenient to El Nido Proper. My friend booked this hotel and hotel rates for 4 nights were unbelievably inexpensive! Prior to this trip, I came in blind with no research into what was in store for this new experience. I came in completely blind and just went with the flow. Upon checking in, I'm blown away with how close this resort is to the beach. It's a completely beach style resort type of hotel with a variety of rooms, Bungalows, and different types of rooms depending on how many people are in the group. Hotel Amenities include swimming pool, no Fitness Center, complimentary breakfast at the pool side restaurant, 24/7 front desk with concierge service for booking activities, a gift shops and private beach access. The room my friend booked was a Bungalow. Room was furnished with a King Size Bed, air conditioning, in-room safe, single bathroom, mini refrigerator with a ton of ala carte alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. There's also outdoor lanai seating area with a cold water whirlpool which I thought was a jacuzzi, complimentary WiFi, plenty of closet space, and the most important item is an electronic big zapper! Hospitality service is excellent. Spa features services which me and my friends enjoyed after a day of excursion. I didn't mind that our massages were in an open-air lanai, while the bugs weren't bothering me, they were biting others in my group lol.

Lots of little restaurants around, or you can take a tricycle into the main town for 100php. A really nice choice for staying near town, but not right in town.

EElizaveta VThe hotel is located in quite an isolated place - it is very quiet but the road to the hotel is quite tough: only some of the transport can reach the hotel due to the narrow street which connect the beach and El Nido town. So if you want a ride, you need to ask this hotel to pick you up or drop to the beach (it is free at the daytime). By foot it takes around 15 minutes to get to the town.
I loved the view and the pool, the breakfast is tasty (truly loved the tocino), I enjoyed the service. The room is big and clean.
Definitely recommend if you like a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

Dolarog, a true pet-friendly resort! The resort in itself is superb! It’s like a hidden gem of El Nido and the greatest thing about it is it’s truly a pet-friendly haven! What I like about it is that it’s still in the main island but gives off that exclusive feels. We stayed for 8 days in total at the beachfront villa called Lagen which is a few meters from the beach overlooking their jetti way and that awe-inspiring giant limestone directly in front of our villa. Getting to the resort is other via speedboat or their private access road from Vanilla Beach using a golf car. You know that you’ll have an excellent stay when the owner, Mr. Edu picks you up(or sometimes the son) from Vanilla beach for a more personal touch. How hospitable right? He also has a selection of Italian wines from his cellar as he is Italian, I had Chianti btw over dinner with the beach, stars and the moon as our backdrop. Truly magical! The rooms are always kept clean by the staff who are also very friendly. The main Receptionist, Tata is attentive and very pleasant not to mention very informative. I would take her as my head of staff if only I could! She knows her products and knows when to recommend it, the type of staff who is not in your face all the time to promote an offer. I must say she is one of the nicest resort staff I ever come across with. Food is relatively good. Home cooked and unpretentious. As with any advice when you go to a limited supply area such as El Nido, don’t get your expectations too high on having a western dish so much because obviously, you will have some issues so I only ordered I know locally sourced here like seafood or their filipino dishes like the menudo and chicken curry which are my faves! Filipino breakfast is good. You might wanna carry spare powerbanks as the resort rely on their own generator for electric supply. From 6am-9am and 12noon-6pm there is no electric power. Also, TV is not available (not sure abt other rooms though) but who needs a TV anyway? It’s not like you chose to go to El Nido and sit all day on Netflix and stay indoors duh! I rented a motorbike for 500/day basis and this really helped me in exploring or going out of the resort but the resort offers complimentary shuttle via their golf car to Vanilla beach for free but I wanted to leave and come back on my own time. This is also a 20 minutes walk to Maremegmeg beach by beachside access. Tricycle ride cost between 150 going to town from Vanilla beach btw. Overall our experience is a great 4.5/5 with .5 leaving for improvement on the land access before the Dolarog gate. Also, I’m pretty confident even without any advertisement or active social media promotion, the resort will do just good but let me tell when I posted 1 picture of Dolarog on my socmed, people flocked my DM to ask if I was in another country. PPengguna TetamuTravel agent booked this hotel for us for a standard double room for 4 nts. We got a double bed room, but no TV and room was very plain. When we complained about no TV we were told that the room that was booked for us showed air con and Wi-Fi, and we did not book a room with a TV, which BTW their website shows rooms with TVs and we picked this hotel based on photos shown to us by travel agent, which room was much more under-whelming than the photos. When we asked the front desk doesn't a 'Standard Double' room come with a TV? Got really no response from them. I told them that they we didn't book a room with a toliet, bedsheets, a mattress, pillows, toliet paper, etc.; but the room seemed to come with these items, other than just Wi-Fi and Air Con. They eventually said they would try to move us to a room with a TV the second day. When they moved us to the new room with a TV, which BTW did not even work. This other new room was a very small room that barely fit the double bed with very little walking space and an even smaller bathroom, and there was no where for us to put our clothes so we would live out of our suitcase; which there was really no place to even put the suitcase. So we just asked to get moved back into our original room with no TV as it was about 40% bigger (which isn't saying much), but at least it had a place to put our clothes and suitcase. Also, the 'Wi-Fi' internet was very poor in both rooms and only seemed to work okay either in the lobby area (ground floor) or on the top (4th) floor where the dining rea was located. Hotel is located about 2-3 km from the main area of El Nido. We recommend you stay somewhere else.
