Dewangga Ubud

Wonderful calm hideaway from the streets! The staff are so friendly, polite and professional i could not fault them. My initial room was near the work being carried out building more rooms so i asked to be moved if possible, the team were more than helpful with this matter and moved me as soon as it was possible. Great spaceous room with everything you would need I was staying over christmas and new year, i was left little gifts on both these occasions...it's the little things that make this place!

I was on holiday with my 20 year old daughter so we requested a superior room with twin beds which we got. Communication before and during the stay was excellent. On arrival at the hotel we were greeted very warmly by the reception staff and porter and duly given a tour of the hotel and taken to our room. We really loved the authentic Balinese feel to this hotel from the lush gardens with the sound of running waters, the room decor and of course the wonderful Balinese people who can not do enough for you and genuinely want you to have the best stay - which we did! Our room was 217 on the ground floor close to the pool. The room and bathroom were huge and we appreciated the very nicely-scented bug spray and plug-in mosquito repellent provided. I was pleasantly surprised not to be blighted too much by mosquitos during our stay here (in comparison to our previous hotel in Legian) Considering this is a 3 star hotel, the amenities were excellent - a fridge, 2 bottles of water replenished daily, TV with streaming, large umbrellas (necessary in January!!), hairdryer, safe, toiletries and kettle with tea/coffee sachets. The rooms were cleaned daily and were spotless as was the pool and its surroundings. The hotel is set in central Ubud with so many bars, restaurants and shops on the doorstep and yet it was so peaceful! I would absolutely be happy to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone wanting to feel you've experienced Balinese hospitality.

Located right in the middle of Ubud town. There's a stream running beside it, you can hear the water streaming especially at night when it gets quieter. But the best part of this hotel is the hospitality and the service from the hotel staff. It's like your staying with a family.

This delightful hotel in the centre of Ubud has a wonderful Balinese feel. The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much. The grounds are beautifully lush and there is a good pool. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel offers complimentary activities such as yoga.

We stayed 4 nights in a superior room above the restaurant and pool. Dewangga is an amazing sanctuary and retreat from the hustle and bustle of central Ubud, yet so convenient. We were able to walk everywhere, including to Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace, Kajeng Rice Fields, Campuhan Ridge walk and even Neka Art Museum. The gardens and pool are stunning, you can really see how much work they put into maintaining the beauty. It is also completely quiet, you can't hear any road noise at all, which is amazing considering how busy the streets surrounding the hotel are. There are literally hundreds of restaurants and warungs within a few minutes walk. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was nice with lots of choices. I will definitely stay again and recommend Dewangga to my family and friends. It is a little bit more expensive than other hotels in central Ubud, but is more than worth the small amount of extra money.

This Hotel was very disappointing, they had good reviews and location, but they put us in a horrible room that had not been renovated, and had an old-style bathroom where the shower runs onto a pebble floor. This outdated arrangement (outside bathroom) kinda works in some old outdoor bali-style bathrooms (cheap ones), but it had been enclosed. Turning it into a total mold factory, it was not immediately obvious until we entered the room in the evening and could barely breathe, it was too late to change rooms and we had to spend an uncomfortable, almost sleepless night breathing damp, stinky, black mold, air. (even with the connecting door to the bathroom closed) We complained in the morning requesting a better room, but they said they were totally "sold out", That was until we said we were fully prepared to leave the hotel altogether. They miraculously came up with a newer, updated room. But if they did not we were fully prepared to eat the lost money, and go somewhere else. It was that bad. This bad experience was the low-point in an otherwise great vacation. This hotel is also undergoing a massive ad-on, putting in several stories of new rooms, so there is construction noise they did not tell us about, but we weren't as concerned about all of that as we were mostly outside of the hotel doing outings during the day. I just wish the Hotel Owner's Read this and spend some money and effort renovating their worst rooms to make them habitable, rather than just trying to build more rooms as fast as possible for maximum profit, and putting guests in old, dirty, unhealthy rooms, and ruining their own reputation, and the customer's experience in the process.
