The Hotel is very central. The pool is small but sufficient for a quick cooling. The view from the roof garden is spectacular. The rooms are spacious and include a safe, AC, a large fridge, a kettle including coffee or tea and a bathtub (deluxe room). The breakfast is ok, but a bit more comprehensive in other hotels. Not at all okay is that the staff is obviously unwilling to order a regular metered taxi. Either the trip to the airport is offered for a flat rate of 600 baht with a private Car/Tranfer, or, only after repeated requests, a taxi is ordered via Grab-Taxi with a fixed price of - in our case - 350 baht excluding highway fees. When we then insisted on turning on the taximeter, which is also the law in Thailand, we ended up paying 305 baht excluding highway fees. Here the hotel should be able to learn and offer its guests a regular taxi service.

I stayed here for three nights before leaving Bangkok. During my visit I got a lot of great tips and help from the staff. Every time I needed help, they were able to assist wether it was looking for a restaurant, ordering taxi or just help with travel arrangements. Great value for money, rooms are good with daily cleaning, possibility to wash clothes and the location has everything very close. Backpacking here is easy and nice. Rooms have air conditioning which is a good thing for a refreshing night sleep. Some furniture was worn and sometimes I could hear noice from other rooms. Otherwise everything was great. Four star overall. Five stars for the staff.

The first night we checked in at midnight but the front desk staff and the bell boy were alert and very helpful. Check in process was very quick. However, the room has a stuffy smell, probably the room has not been used for quite long and the tapestry has got the smell. The 2nd day was better and we had a good sleep. The surrounding of the hotel is very convenient and we could access to different local stores.

This is a two star, budget hotel, no doubt about it, but it is one of the best two star hotels I have stayed in. The hotel is owned/run by Khun Tor and his ‘sister’ (assistant) Khun Aey and he was good enough to fit my family in at very short notice just before Christmas for 10 days or so when my booking at another hotel went all wrong. You will receive a reduced rate if you stay for an extended period. Khun Tor is a pleasant man and Khun Aey, is very helpful (she will explain how to pronounce their names properly). It is/was basically a local hotel as the door height into the bathroom reveals. Checking in was straightforward at the small reception and the lifts are nearby, near to two coin-operated washing machines and one dryer; you can buy washing soap from Khun Aey. The corridors were quite plain and no shops, bar, swimming pool. There is parking for cars in the front. A bit dated now but excellent value for money. There were three family adults in our party and we had the family room, minimal decorations, plain flooring but which was spacious and clean with a balcony and with two king beds; the beds were quite firm but comfortable enough and we slept well. The bathroom was a reasonable size with a good shower with its own heater but with a low hanging light over the basin. Two containers marked shampoo and soup (not a typo) were mounted on the wall in the shower. Good aircon, flip flops, coffee making facilities, glasses, bowls and plates, kitchen sink, wifi, tv (local stations), good sized ‘fridge, bottles of water every day, telephone, towels were provided but no safe. Some basic furniture, very reasonable cupboard space and daily room cleaning (the daily cleaning was a nice bonus). A good part of the attraction of the hotel is its location. It is located in a ‘safe’ area in Bangrak and just about everything is nearby. Turning left out of the hotel and round the corner on the left is an upmarket Chinese restaurant and next to it is a hotel. Turn left at this hotel and walk down Thanon Charoen Wiang (street) to experience a local street and there are a couple of western-style restaurants which were useful for breakfast occasionally. Continue down this street – a short distance – and you will come to the main road, Charoen Krung Road, and opposite is Robinsons Department Store with a Tops supermarket in the basement and a Watsons pharmacy on the 1/F. This area can get crowded. Immediately to the left of the department store is a duck shop which sells lovely roasted duck with a cooked chicken shop next to it. Next to them is a side street and walk down there for an open-air food court where we had very nice Thai food at budget prices in the evening. There are also restaurants in the same area and many other stalls. Next to the side street is a Boots pharmacy and then a branch of the Bangkok Bank with a foreign exchange counter. I booked this hotel with the promise of it being something truly unique. It's often listed as among the top 10 budget designer hotels in Bangkok. I've been to Bangkok many times and have stayed in many different places, but it was my girlfriend's first time in the city and so wanted to try something different. I booked this hotel because it seemed to have a bit of character, especially in the unique design of the rooms. However: -while the rooms do indeed have unique design, they are more tacky than anything. The room I stayed in felt like some sort of warped sex dungeon, without proper storage for clothes or even basic amenities one might expect for a room of this price -the service was aloof, not warm or helpful at all (regardless of language barrier). There is reception for limited hours (ostensibly 9am - 9om), but the reception disk was often vacant even during those hours. At one point I had to wait for 20 minutes -they try to nickel and dime guests to death, as confirmed by other reviewers here, for instance charging 400 Baht to clean pillow cases stained by my girlfriend's hair dye (normal bleach would have removed the stain) -NO breakfast is included or even available. There is a cafe but it looks permanently closed. The only option is street food, which might not be suitable for all travellers. -the location is a double-edged sword. It's a VERY local part of Bangkok, which can be good or bad depending on your perspective. I think it's a bit nice to escape the Khao Sah / Sukhumvit tourist bubbles and see a bit of what REAL Bangkok is like, but it might not be suitable for first time visitors to the city (there is no restaurants nearby, for example). On the other hand, the BTS and Chao Phraya Express stops are only 600m away. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the accessibility to other parts of the city is actually quite good. In summary, there is an abundance of accommodation choices in Bangkok. At this price point, you can get MUCH better value, even if you might have to join the backpacker hordes in Khao San or Sukhumvit.

I have never stayed in this part of Bangkok before and booked this hotel as some friends were already booked in here, however the reviews seemed positive and it is described as in a quiet area, which is exactly what I wanted! I was not disappointed. The room was spacious, clean and modern with an extremely large and comfortable bed. The bathroom was of an adequate size and was again, clean and very well maintained. I also found that all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially the breakfast staff who were wonderful. I had breakfast each day and found that it was excellent value for money, with a wide range of tasty and good quality food options. There is a swimming pool in this hotel and whilst small and shallow, is clean and well maintained and is a perfect little oasis from which to escape the heat! Around the hotel, there are many massage salons including one affiliated with the hotel itself as well as a plethora of excellent food outlets, which serve authentic local foods. It is also neat to the MRT and also Robinsons mall. It is also close to Chinatown, which at night is simply amazing if you like good food! This hotel is perfect for couples and is far away from any noise or rowdiness, whilst having excellent transport links via road, rail or river to all parts of Bangkok. In conclusion, I highly endorse this hotel and recommend that anyone who reads this considers a stay here. I will be returning!

Penginapan tidak jauh dari BTS Krung Thon Buri, boleh berjalan kaki. tempat letak kereta kurang Bilik bersih, pada penutup, penghawa dingin agak perlahan. Saya secara peribadi tidak suka bilik mandi. Ia adalah kaca beku, tidak penuh dengan tingkap, melakukan tugas, orang di luar boleh mendengar segala-galanya. Tak boleh kunci pun kakitangan yang cantik Kami meminta lebih banyak bantal dan tuala kaki, yang juga disediakan. P.S. Saya tidak mempunyai seterika untuk dipinjam. You must read this review in conjunction with an earlier review I wrote in Jan 2023 (see below, marshaanddavid All You Need In A Good 2-Star Hotel) otherwise this review will make little sense, which would be a pity! I, and family, have stayed here twice since my first review and this is an update; obviously if we keep on returning we are happy with the hotel, the pleasant people who run it, the level of co-operation we receive, the value and definitely the location. Additions/amendments as follows: 1. About 95% of my previous review remains accurate, including the strong recommendation. 2. We stayed in the same Family Room, No. 38, which now has a microwave and a new split-type aircon – and is very effective. Poo is the name of the cleaner (enough said). I said earlier that there were no shops but to be accurate part of the building on the G/F in the front is an optometrist. The hotel is split into 2 halves, the apartments, which we stay in, and Escape. Escape is the newer part but I have no further knowledge of layout, amenities etc. On the visit in Dec 2023/Jan 2024, we needed to make adjustments to our stay whilst there and Khun Tor was able to accommodate us, not so straightforward over the Christmas and New Year period. He invited the hotel guests to his rooftop to watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks to avoid the huge crowds. I needed to have a tailored shirt delivered and returned to my room to find it there (I did buy Khun Aey a snack for tea every now and then which she appreciated and I looked after Poo). 3. The nearby open-area food court I mentioned last time is in fact the Bang Rak Bazaar which is undergoing modernization and whilst the surroundings are nicer and the variety of food choices wider, the cheap, but very tasty, Thai dishes have declined. The best stall has moved on. The bazaar is still recommended, just, but the choice of food elsewhere is almost overwhelming. Don’t forget the duck. Prachak Roasted Duck Restaurant, nearby, is well-known (see my separate report) but remember the duck shop just to the left of Robinsons Department Store for a take-away. 4. As you are walking along Charoen Krung Road, perhaps to the money changer, a tailor or Prachak Restaurant, there is a shop on the left at the corner of Charoen Krung Road and Soi 44 (remember to look up for street signs) which sells coconut sweets/cakes and the flat, pandan and coconut milk ones are nice – definitely not expensive. Also on the left and before you reach the sweet shop, is a shop selling see-through bags of peanuts and coconut (spicy of course) which are displayed in the street and are worth trying for a snack. 5. For some unknown reason, I missed out bespoke tailors within easy walking distance last time, a serious omission in Bangkok! Trip Advisor can help here. I can recommend Alex Il Sarto, an upmarket tailor, Praise Tailors, cheaper, and Dream Women’s Tailor for my wife and I have reviewed all 3 separately. 6. Exit the hotel to the left, then take th
