PPengguna TetamuWe stayed over Christmas and it was lovely for the kids. They were welcomed with gift packs full of mini-games, not just the normal colouring papers and pencils. They also have a Christmas workshop set up way before Christmas. The room was very nicely decorated with ample of space for crafting and small table for some drinks. The only downside was that many things had been used up and not refilled as the workshop opened a few weeks before Christmas. They also served milk in the workshop room, but I had concerns that the milk was there from the morning for the whole day and that it was not kept chilled, which might not be good for the kids to consume. The receptionists were very friendly.

PPengguna TetamuI booked the pet room with my dog and was really happy with the room. The room is spacious and clean, it also has a backyard for my dog which was really great. I thought I had to pay for parking but the staff told me the parking at the front of the building is free and I was quite lucky and managed to get a spot when I got there. Location is great, not far from CBD and all the resturants so there were lot food choices. Also really loved the building and the garden, will definitely be choosing Mercure next time I am in Canberra.

PPengguna TetamuWe stayed for the Canberra Marathon Festival. The location was close to the main event area, and there is a cafe and a foodstore close by.
The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable. The area is quiet but there are a few restaurant's and bars along the lake about a 10-minute walk away. Uber's were always only a minute away. We had a great time seeing the sights, a lot of them are within walking distance from the hotel.

667866Excellent location - bus stop right outside the hotel made getting around very convenient, short walking distance to shops.
Room itself was spacious, and bed was comfortable which made for a pleasant overall stay.
Basic amenities such as toothbrushes, shower cap and slippers etc were not provided in room. The mini bar also didnt have prices listed, so no clue what items would cost.
The main lighting in the room and bathroom was bright and quite harsh for me, no option to adjust to a softer tone. And the bathroom fan was quite loud and didnt appear to have an option to turn it off, which could be disruptive. Also, reception is not available 24hrs and at times it was difficult to get in touch with staff for assistance.
Overall a decent stay, an excellent location.

PPengguna TetamuThe hotel is located to the north west of the city centre. Though it is a bit far from the city it is quite convenient, there’s a supermarket (woolies) nearby. Parking is difficult but they provide parking for extra fee per night with unlimited in and out. The hotel is clean, quiet, comfortable and sufficient for our travel purpose to attend an event nearby. I like the double beds (two separate beds) option but this type of room only comes with a disable-friendly bathroom. I wish their double beds are bigger in size and they have a regular bathroom option with a bathtub.

TToni9485Very clean, chic hotel with a popular restaurant and bar. It is conveniently located on Northbourne Avenue , Elouera St and Mort Street which is directly the line of Canberra's night clubs if you are coming on a weekend. There's only two sets of lifts for Hotel Clients which isn't a problem for an Asian ( moi) who is used to very crowded areas. But this can be a bit inconvenient for locals who are used to express service. Pool, gym, sauna. Major plus points. And the best part of all is the free bar fridge in the room. (Not sure if it was a promotion but my friend and I could drink all of what was offered for free!) We didnt because we are massive alcohol fans.
The only major downside is the 25 dollar parking fee. No, no no. You can raise the price a bit higher for the quality of rooms but it's a bit offputting to have that as an additional fee.
Overall, a pretty great experience from service to aminities.

We could not fault anything about the whole experience. The information desk staff were friendly and pleasant and all our requests ( meals, extra pillows,etc) were promptly actioned.

PPengguna TetamuGood hotel with decent amenities and an excellent location, but the staff experience was extremely disappointing. We were travelling with a young child and requested a late checkout. They informed us it would be $30 to extend beyond 10 AM, so we agreed. We checked out at 11:45 AM, only to find they had charged $60, which felt unreasonable and misleading.
On top of that, housekeeping knocked 3-4 times, and their behaviour was shockingly rude. One staff member even said, “You have 2 minutes, just get out in 2 minutes,” which was completely unprofessional. I’ve stayed in many hotels and have never encountered staff speaking or behaving like this.
0/5 for staff behaviour.
If you care about service, I strongly recommend choosing a more reputable hotel. If you’re on a tight budget and only want to stay near Parliament and don’t mind compromising on service, then this place might work - but be prepared for poor staff interactions.
