Before we even arrived, the team had already contacted us and seamlessly arranged our airport transfer and pickup to the accommodation, which immediately set the tone for an exceptional stay. Accommodation: The accommodation itself exceeds a 5-star hotel standard. From the moment you enter the room, it is clear that every element has been carefully considered. The design, attention to detail, and overall comfort reflect the work of a top-tier designer. As designers ourselves, we truly appreciated the thoughtful colour schemes, lighting choices, and smart conveniences throughout the space. Features such as the fully automatic toilet, comfortable shower, and stylish humidifier added to the sense of luxury and refinement. It is this meticulous attention to detail that truly sets this accommodation apart from others. Location: Located in Yuhu Village, a charming Naxi village, the setting is both authentic and peaceful. The village atmosphere, friendly locals, and lovely coffee shops and bakeries make it a joy to explore. A particular highlight is the close-up view of Yulong Snow Mountain, which adds a breathtaking natural backdrop to the entire experience. Customer Service & Staff: The customer service was outstanding. We received thoughtful, personalised tips and guidance to make our stay in Lijiang as enjoyable as possible—far from generic recommendations, the suggestions were clearly tailored to our personal interests and needs. The staff are exceptionally warm, friendly, and generous, and they genuinely make you feel welcome. It is evident that they love what they do, and that passion translates into an atmosphere where guests truly feel valued. The entire team went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout our stay. We were deeply touched by the manager’s generosity and thoughtful parting gifts. Menginap 3 hari yang sangat selesa! Pemandangan gunung sebaik sahaja keluar. Sangat dekat dengan Lijiang Old Town dan Gunung Salji Jade Dragon. San Jin sangat comel!! Malam itu juga nampak bunga api dari sebelah. Sarapan pagi pun pelbagai.

This place just blew me away. Smack in the middle of Lijiang old town, beautiful architecture and 6 star service all the way! The room amenities are on par with 5 star international hotels. Soft fluffy towels and bedding, a deek soaking tub, quality amenities. Our personal concierge Rui Rui is a beautiful and sweet local Naxi girl who arranged everything from pick-up, show tickets, dinner recommendations, and tips for where to go etc etc. Amy the restaurant manager provided amazing service and delicious food and drinks, and makes the best coffee in the entire Yunnan. The afternoon tea is a must do. The garden is a menagerie of animals. There is also a special furkid at reception to greet you when you arrive. Also you get the best view of old town from the restaurant . We will definitely be back soon!

We had high expectations for this hotel and it didn’t disappoint. The facilities were good and general areas very nicely decorated. The service was also top notch as the staff were all super accommodating and helpful. They looked after us really well. What we enjoyed most were the free activities! We booked 2 nights and spent one full day just enjoying all the activities at the hotel! And the staff were super nice to help us plan a full programme for the day! We went foraging in the forest nearby and horse riding around the small lake. We also went on the Naxi home experience and then did art and craft in their little workshop. I had a really nice time there and would be happy to return! The only slight minus was that we went during summer and there were quite a lot of flies 🫣

The room was extremely clean and spacious with 2 queen sized beds that can easily sleep 4 adults. Nice hot tub in the balcony with both cold and hot water taps, can adjust to your preferred temperature. We were entertained by the voice control of common appliances in the room. The hotel breakfast and welcome tea break were delicious, and we could enjoy a beautiful view of the mountains while having our meal. All the staff we met were very pleasant and enthusiastic in welcoming us and making our stay an enjoyable one. A special mention to hotel staff Ava who helped us collect our laundry from the dryer and sent it to our room while we spent our day outside the hotel. Free laundry service at the hotel too, just have to diy. Overall great experience during our stay here, will strongly consider staying here again for a next visit to Lijiang!

Cleanliness: room was slightly dusty. Spiders and insects in the room, but expected because it has many oriental decorations that require constant cleaning to prevent dust accummulation. Location: convenient, it’s of walking distance to the north gate, easy to stroll around to different parts of the ancient town. Service: I have never given a bad review for the service attitude of any accomodations which I’ve stayed at in China, but I honestly think that the service here is mediocre and more reactive than proactive. They fulfil the basics of bringing your luggage up to your room, giving directions to the laundry and breakfast areas and arranging for pick up from the station to the hotel for a stay of at least three consecutive nights. I cannot speak for all the service staff, but the service staff that mainly tended to me during the stay definitely needs to be improved. He was helpful when I needed help for the laundry setting. However, when I needed help with booking tickets to snow mountain (I’m a foreigner and do not have a local number), it was a rather frustrating experience. He shared that the booking of tickets to Yulong Snow Mountain can be done 3-4 days in advance, and he could help me when I arrive at the accommodations. When I arrived, it was 4 days in advance but he was rather nonchalent and did not manage to help me secure tickets for my intended date of visit and had to eventually rely on the tour group to help change dates. The night before the tour visit, I had to reach out on wechat to ask about when and where the meeting point is for the tour. Even after the tour, I even had to ask several times to pay for the tour tickets as he had helped me to secure the ticket to the glacier park cablecar eventually. I had already shared that I could not transfer money on wechat and could only do via scanning his wechat/alipay qr code or vice versa. I feel that given that you guys are located in Lijiang and located near to Jade Snow Mountain, you should have encountered other customers who need help with the booking and this shouldn’t have been such a stressful tour booking experience. Amenities: they have two all-in-1 washing machine and drying amenities which was rather helpful. In the original room which i had booked, the air con leaked at around 10pm+. I texted the service staff on wechat and another staff came 5-10minutes later to check. This staff said it’s normal for the air con to leak at times especially if it’s blocked. After checking, he offered to change rooms for me. He helped me to move my luggage to the new room. There was no form of apology by any of the staff on the day itself when the incident happened. It was only on the next day when I requested for check-out transportation services to the railway station for the following day, where the staff who mainly tended to be apologised for the aircon leakage and offered complimentary transport services to the railway station. I’ve stayed in many accomodations in Yunnan but this was the most disappointing stay thus far and I will definitely not be back again.

What truly elevated my experience, however, was the exceptional service, most notably from Elin. From the moment I arrived, her warm hospitality made me feel incredibly welcome and valued. She handled all my queries with remarkable promptness, ensuring that every detail of my stay was seamless. Beyond her efficiency, Elin went above and beyond by providing invaluable travel advice. Her insider recommendations allowed me to navigate the local culture and scenery like seasoned travellers. Banyan Tree Lijiang is a stunning property with sumptuous treats, but it is dedicated and passionate staff like Elin who turn a great vacation into an unforgettable memory. I cannot thank her enough for her kindness and professionalism, ensuring that my needs are met and I am safe in a foreign land.

II recently stayed at the Guanxin Art Hotel in Shuhe Old Town, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Tucked away in a serene corner of this charming ancient town, the hotel’s artistic design immediately captivated me—think intricate local motifs blended with modern whimsy in every corner, from the lobby’s handcrafted murals to the thoughtfully curated room accents. It’s the kind of place that feels like stepping into a living gallery. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warming welcome tea set that set a perfectly relaxed tone after our journey. And the turndown service? A cozy surprise of warmed white fungus dessert that was both indulgent and surprisingly soothing—such a unique touch that made evenings feel special. Breakfast was a highlight, served with fresh, flavorful local ingredients and Western options that catered to every craving. Everything was excellent, from the fluffy pancakes to the vibrant fruit platters, all enjoyed in a sunlit courtyard that amplified the magic. The rooms themselves were a sanctuary: lovely, plush bedding that promised (and delivered) the deepest sleep, wrapped in an ambiance that’s equal parts elegant and inviting. What truly elevated the stay was the staff—they’re a warm, efficient bunch who went above and beyond. One team member even insisted on carrying my ridiculously heavy bags up the stairs without a second thought, all with a genuine smile. And let’s talk about the hotel’s superstar resident: a massive, fluffy husky dog who’s as photogenic as he is well-behaved. He lounged gracefully by the entrance, offering tail-wags on demand but never intrusive—pure joy! One minor note: the hotel is nestled a bit deeper into the old town, so we walked about 15-20 minutes from the pickup point. But honestly, it was a lovely stroll through lantern-lit alleys, past street vendors and hidden courtyards—part of the adventure that made arriving feel earned. If you’re seeking a boutique escape that’s artistic, attentive, and utterly memorable, Guanxin Art Hotel is it. A stunning stay! The room I picked was the 180+180 room and the view was just absolutely stunning. I recommend staying more than a day to just enjoy the views of the mountain. I was hosted by Hongliang and team who were so very attentive. They gave quick recommendations on what to eat in the vicinity and helped arranged all the activities they offered. The photography experience was especially fun and the photographer gave clear guidance and there was a good selection of outfits for ladies (just one for males). The session included makeup and hairdo as well, one per room, top up if more guests want to participate. I wish I had remembered there was a free shoot then I would have saved on the one done in the ancient city. These photos turned out really nice and you can pay a fee for each additional photo you like. Coord directly with the photog 2 days before your stay. The tea pressing activity was at a nearby tea dealer and the staff were very well versed in all types of tea, if you are a connoisseur you would enjoy it. All in all an amazing stay that I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a mountain retreat.

When my mother agreed to visit Lijiang with me, I browsed many hotels in Trip.com and sorted out this hotel out of many hotels with good reviews without knowing beforehanded that this will fulfill my satisfaction to the most. Before we got there, I contacted the hotel if it is comfortable for my mom to stay there because she is 88 years old and need to use wheelchair. After that they made up a wechat group to facilitate us. The staff who took care of us , xiao juan , helped us with the trip plan, escorted us to the ancient town of Dayan and Shuhe ,lead us to understand the town of Baisha and helped us with everything we need. She shows her emphaty to people with everthing she does.All the staffs there are young , polite and friendly. The location of the hotel is very suitable for exploring the ancient town of Baisha. The view of the snow mountain can be seen from the inner garden and more clearly from the third floor of the hotel.The room is comfortable with good quality bedsheet , blanket , towels and the heating floor. The breakfast is adequate with a set of chinese small dishes together with a choice of boiled rice or noodles. They provide free coffee all day with daily afternoon tea set and late night sweet soup and plum wine. I feel like I have nothing to ask more and wish to express my gratitude to all the staffs here. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to all who need to receive impressive service from these lovely staffs.
