Exceeded expections on all grounds! I am so happy with the hotel I wanted to spread the word. This hotel has great old world charm and more. I was a little worried about the condition of the hotel (more than 100 years old!) but everything was fine. I stayed at the Main Wing / basic room with park view. The bathroom was basic (business hotel like) but very clean, but the room / bedding and the view at our window was wonderful. Given the low price point, we were very happy with the room. Definitely recommend the Main Wing, and if you can, a room with higher price point. All staff, from shuttle bus / concierge / front desk / bar, are excellent. We really enjoyed the check in process - you can sit at the lounge admiring Einstein's piano while the front staff comes calling your name. Also try the tea lounge both during the day and night (turns to a bar). I would also like to extend special thanks to Korean speaking front manager Lee Su Jin who helped us in so many ways. She really made our stay comfortable. One thing to note about Nara city itself is that most venues close at 4pm and have unpredictable operating hours. You can't just walk around hoping to sit down at a cafe or restaurant. Highly recommend making reservations in advance of your trip and I'm sure Nara hotel concierge can help with this. I really enjoyed Nara Hotel and look really forward to returning.

The fitness gym was quite comprehensive The regular Room was already very big, comfy bed and clean! No upgrade this time since all rooms are fully booked - service! 100% good! One of the most friendly staff and quite a number overseas staff. - The hotel provide a shuttle bus to Nara station or Kintetsu Below content for those who has time to read To start, it was the first day of the dining experience at Azekura that got me to have not one but two dining occasions at the restaurant. Chef Wang Yu Wen not only delivered a gastronomic experience throughout my teppanyaki lunch course, but he also delivered a very personal one-one dining service experience. His culinary expertise was showcased in every dish despite my dietary restriction, every flavour simply delighted my palate. Kirito did an exceptional service by recommending a great local Nara sake to pair with my lunch course., The second day of Kaiseki was equally delightful and I was extremely surprised to be greeted by the 料理長, Mr Nobukazu Yoshida who honestly provided such an “Omotenashi” experience throughout my time at Azekura. Mr Okubo Ren and Ms Miyamae also delivered great service during my lunch dining on the second day. Overall, the dining experience at Azekura was the highlight of my stay and till now, I couldn’t help but marvel due to the great service that was initiated by Mr Wang Yu Wen. Additionally, I would like to commend the impeccable service I received during the check-in process. I I was impressed at Mr Kim’s patience and service throughout the check-in experience, and I was really glad to get a warm welcoming experience from both Mr Arjun and Ms Pitcha at the lobby. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate specific requests made a significant difference, setting the tone for an enjoyable and happy stay. It is evident that the team takes pride in delivering top-notch service, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. Furthermore, the hospitality at the lounge was exemplary. Despite the huge crowd during the festive season, the lounge staff did create a comfortable and enjoyable one. Both Murata and Pabina were some of those whom I felt had delivered great service during the evening cocktail hours. Lastly

DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want your baby’s cot taken away and they force you to have your baby sleep on the floor and be squashed! That is exactly what they did to us while my baby was still sleeping in her cot they wanted to take away my baby’s cot leaving her bed less. Where would my baby sleep when they took my cot away ?! The hotel doesn’t care about you and the service is terrible. I told them months before booking I needed a cot which they assured me they had. Then the hotel proceeded to take away my baby’s cot during our 2 week stay leaving my baby in unsafe sleeping conditions as she had NO WHERE TO SLEEP!!! The service here is terrible. You are better off staying somewhere else. They are very inhumane to treat a baby like that and leave a baby bed less to sleep on the floor. My baby is unable to sleep in our bed as we are heavy sleepers and do not want to squash her while we slept. This hotel is terrible! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I am so baffled that an entire big hotel only has 1 cot that guests have to fight over? And even when you booked the cot first and have your baby sleeping in the cot first the hotel would still take your baby’s cot away and leaving your baby bed less!!!! Utterly disgusting and unacceptable!!! I want a full refund based upon the lie that they told me that there is a cot available to use when there is not!!! To all families: DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The historical significance of this venue must be highlighted to illustrate its uniqueness in Nara - We signed up for the complimentary tour of the hotel offered to hotel guests on certain mornings of the week and had the pleasure of having Ms. Sato, the director of marketing, introduce the story of Shisui and its past-life as the residence of the governor of Nara between 1922 to 2017, then as Shisui hotel with guest-rooms designed by renown architect Kengo Kuma. The emperor of Japan had stayed on property in post-war to sign the San Francisco treaty. Sato-san's thorough introduction in fluent-english had me realise a stay at this hotel is a unique experience in the way that it is beyond just luxury. The staff had been wonderful and eager to please without pushiness. It was much appreciated, as it gave room for my wife and I to enjoy each other's company at this perfectly peaceful property. The staff had been amazing from the beginning, at check-in, we had Rika-san, a lady with eyes that can smile, to help us check-in while we rest our feet at the lounge with tea, then guide us to our room while briefing us on all its amenities. The rooms were modern with accents of traditional Japanese designs to remind me of the locations' history. Details like the washroom walls that look like zen-gardens and overall wooden decor made my stay at the room one of the most relaxing experiences ever at any hotel. The French-Japanese wine-paired dinner at Suiyou was also our culinary highlight of our two-week vacation in Japan. In summary, after the two night stay, my wife had requested that we should come back to Shisui in the spring, summer and fall to experience all the seasons at this venue.

We stayed one night in FUFU Nara on the way from Tokyo to Kyoto. We took a special train - Aoniyoshi from Kyoto to Nara and it was very enjoyable ride. We took a taxi from Kintetsu Nara station to the hotel. Hotel staff greeted us right away and kept the our luggage for us until the check-in time. It is located next to Ukimido and we were able to visit Todaiji and the giant Buddha before the check-in. Once we return, we had a nice cold welcome drink. Hotel staff were very professional and friendly. It was obvious that they take a great pride on performing their tasks. Our room was super clean and modern with some Japanese touches. And the hot tub on the balcony was amazing. We contemplated between FUFU and the new Shisui, but we were very glad that we chose FUFU. At FUFU, I believe all rooms are suites and come with the private open air onsen. We did read some reviews on the noise. We did not notice too much especially after dodging so many screaming school children at Todaiji. At night, we had teppan yaki dinner for our anniversary. It was pretty cool to dress in yukata with a hanten jacket. The sandals were comfortable, also. We walked through the bamboo garden to get to the restaurant. Our chef was friendly and food was delicious. With sake pairing, we had a great time. Breakfast was served at the same restaurant, and the walk was beautiful in the morning. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. The lady who served us explained each dish very politely. It's hard to believe they are so helpful even without any tips. Staying at FUFU made our stay in Nara very special.

나라는 찐으로 다른 호텔 다 필요없고 슈퍼호텔이 갑이네요!🤩 대욕장에 술 라운지에 조식까지 다 해서 이 가격이면 너무 가성비 넘치고 합리적이라 여기서 몇일 묵었는데 직원분들도 다 친절하시고 특히 조식 먹으러 갈때 식당에 계시는 분들이나 청소하시는 분들이나 하나하나 지나갈때마다 눈 마주치면서 다 인사해주는데 너무 친절하셔서 마음이 훈훈했어요🥹💕 그리고 여기 침구류 마약침대에요..😳 원래 잠 잘 못 자는데 눕자마자 딥슬립 했습니다 베개도 본인 목 컨디션이나 취향 따라 고를 수 있는 것도 너무 좋았고 푹신하니 좋았어요! 왠만한 4~5성급도 잠옷은 안 주는데 잠옷 들고 가게 해둔 것도 너무 서윗하구 여기가 어째서 3성급인지 모를 정도로 너무 깨끗하고 좋았습니다..!개인적으로 저는 4~5등급 호텔보다 여기가 더 깨끗하고 손님 니즈를 잘 반영한 베개커스텀 잠옷 대욕장 청결도 여기가 개인적으로 더 등급이 높은 호텔 같아요 방은 좀 협소하기는 했는데 그래도 잠 자기에는 침대가 커서 좋았고 협탁도 넓고 유일하게 단점은 화장실이 너무 협소했다는 점..?과 12시 이후로는 연장 안되고 무조건 연박 해야된다는 것 그것빼곤 진짜 단점 없는게 단점일 정도로 너무 좋았습니다 조식도 맛있구 담에 또 나라 놀러오면 무조건 슈퍼호텔에 묵을게요 너무 푹 쉬다 가용!.! 그리고 4성급에 묵을때도 옆방 소리 다 들린 적 많았는데 진짜 아무소리도 안 들릴 정도로 방음 진짜 잘 됩니다 전철 옆에 있는데 기차가 지나가는지도 모를만큼 진짜 방음 짱짱해요! 왜 인기 있는 호텔인지 다시 깨달을만큼 좋아요! 담엔 무조건 여기 또 묵을게요!

10 seconds walk from JR Nara Station. It's okay even if it rains. Hotel check-in is on the 3rd floor. The bathhouse on the 6th floor is free. Free drinks on the 3rd floor. Breakfast shows the pride of the hotel. Very delicious.

Spent one night at the Miroku Nara. We purchased 2 rooms and must say we were not overwhelmed. We thought this was a Michelin Guide hotel and higher end boutique Hotel...was it? Check in was quite informal, the hotel didn't request passports or verification of visitors. Although we arrived at 2:00, we were denied check in until 3:00. The hotel said early check in would cost us 2,200 Yen per hour so we declined. However they did accept our luggage without cost. Our rooms, in the Grotto (Roots of Nara...sub-basment) were huge (35m squared) and could easily have slept 4 with 2 futons and 2 beds. The traditional tatami room was great to just chill out in. The rooms were quiet! The W/C was separate from the wash zone. Very nice! The wife was strong and we were able to stream. The A/C worked quietly and we were very comfortable. Our Japanese guests in their own unit were not impressed and thought the room dark and ”different”. Their polite way of saying it wasn't to their liking. We should have purchased a room above ground for them, with lots of light. Either the Japanese-Style or the Moderate would have been better received. The bathroom amenities were of good quality, I had no complaints overall. The stone table outside our rooms came in handy for our afternoon decision making. However everyone in the hotel comes down to this area for tea, hot and cold filtered water and other needs. It was strange to have folks milling about outside our rooms. Aesthetically, the whole hotel is minimal and beautiful. We were unable to locate any inter hotel phones for room to room contact, or contact with the front desk. We did not partake in any meals yet the outdoor tables are pleasant and one can watch the deer of Nara wander around. We required parking and the hotel parking is under renovation. It's quite expensive to park locally and the staff members suggested a lot just a few meters down from the hotel that was reasonably priced. Would we return...probably not. At CAD$235/night. It was pricey for what we received. There was not even a welcome gift of mochi :( Our friends said we should try Setre next time with free breakfast, lounge drinks, and bikes)

ロケーションとテラスで過ごせることの2点でこちらに決めました。 奈良国立博物館まで歩いて8分程度、もう少し行けば東大寺も近いです。 あの辺りを歩いて観光するには良い立地だと思いますし、途中に通る道も風情があって良いです。 スタッフさんたちは皆さん感じが良く、気分良く過ごせました。 特に、私がカフェの無料ドリンクについてちゃんと理解していなかったのを察して、説明してくださった女性のスタッフさんが親切でした。 チェックイン後、テラスに出て目の前の猿沢池と興福寺の眺めをゆったり座って楽しみましたが、すごく贅沢な気分になれました。 建物の1階にスターバックスがあるので、そこで買ったドリンクをテラスに持ち込むことも可能だそうです。 ホテル室内は清潔で、夜になれば観光客も近くからいなくなりますし静かです。内装もお洒落ですし、部屋は広々していました。 窓の障子を開けると目の前に三重塔が。 ただ、朝6時にお寺の鐘の音で目が覚めてしまいました。まあそれも奈良の醍醐味でしょうか。 大浴場は小ぶりですが、平日の利用だったためか貸切り状態で使えてラッキーでした。シャンプーが選べるのも楽しかったです。 こちらは朝食や夕食を出すレストランがない代わりに、予約時に外注らしき朝食弁当を注文できました。これがすごく美味しくて大正解でした。 夕食も近辺にたくさん美味しいお店があるので、特に問題を感じませんでした。 なお、地下には飲み物の自販機もありますし、近いところにコンビニもありますので荷物が少なくても困りません。 過不足のないサービスと清潔な部屋や寝具と、満足しました。 マイカーで訪れる場合のみ、注意点があります。 ホテル提携の有料駐車場だけは大変でした。土日は歩行者天国になるゾーンがある関係で、とんでもなく狭い道からしか辿り着けないのです。 あらかじめそれは調べておいたので、小さい軽自動車を使用しており事なきを得ましたがこれが3ナンバーの車だったらどうなっていたことか……。 次回来訪時には別の駐車場を使用するか、電車で行くことにします。

We had a wonderful time. This hotel is not like the others. Starting with the check in, where an employee literally sat down with us and walked us through all the aspects of the stay. I really appreciated the time taken for that. The design of the room was special, too. Spacious and friendly. The chicken in the inner ward gave it all a very particular vibe. Staff was very attentive. The Japanese breakfast was prepared with much attention to details. The lounge, with the possibility to have drinks throughout the afternoon and evening gave the stay an overall very relaxed feeling, almost a feeling of being at home. If I come back to Nara, I would certainly choose Setre again.
