My daughter is currently studying abroad, and for her spring break we had planned on meeting in Barcelona, where neither of us had visited before. Freezing temperatures and snow in the United States unfortunately tampered with our plans, and I was then detained and unable to join her. At first I was nervous, but the Hotel Arts took amazing care of my daughter as she experienced her first solo vacation - and loved every moment. From all she has told me, it sounds like the Hotel Arts made a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience in every way. Special shout out to the incredible bar staff in the lobby bar who gave her an amazing list of restaurants, bars, and site recommendations. Bartenders Alex, Nicola and Diego, whose service went above and beyond, by her report, were welcoming, gracious, and terrific hosts. My daughter also tells me the woman who helped her with check in and check out was wonderfully friendly and helped her arrange a taxi for her departure and also gave some local tips. Her name, however, seemed Catalan and my daughter cannot remember how to spell it. On check-in my daughter was given both a spa and drink voucher, both of which were very much appreciated, and put to good use. In the room as well, was a lovely gift of fresh clementines, which I am told tasted wonderful. The location of the Hotel Arts is also perfect, sitting on the beach and close to attractions and public transportation. The amenities were also wonderful, and the gym was clean, spacious, and had lovely equipment. The property itself is gorgeous, with astounding views of the Mediterranean. This hotel truly held up to Ritz Carlton and 5 star standard, and every part of her experience far exceeded expectations. She couldn’t have been in safer hands and I am so glad she has such a good experience at the Hotel Art. She recommends it so highly that we are now changing our summer vacation plans from France to Barcelona. we look very much to returning to this amazing property!

Great experience at the hotel. It was my second stay. The first time, not long after the opening, there were some glitches for which I had complained a little bit, and now that we came back they really took care of us to ensure everything went perfectly. Rooms are very nice, most importantly service was absolutely perfect. Location is also great. I was afraid it would be a bit far from center for a touristic stay, but actually it's perfect. On the beach and still within walking distance of many sights / shopping and restaurant areas. And to go further away in Barcelona, metro station is just 5 minutes walk. Definitely hope to be back soon.

Where do I start we simply loved everything about our stay at the edition. We stayed here April 18th - 21st and the staff specifically the concierge, night bell man on the 18th and front desk were beyond helpful and accommodating. I unfortunately lost the card with their names but those three guys helped my mom and I tremendously - from recommendations, transportations and other tidbits which made our stay very special. Lou Lou on the rooftop was exceptional and actually would remember our morning order which added that extra touch of personalization and guest service. Lisa I believe was her name at the rooftop bar (evening) was also fabulous. The Edition hotel is one of my favorite luxury boutique hotels and the Barcelona one didn’t disappoint - the rooms were gorgeous, clean and well appointed. The rooftop had breath taking views and the bar on the 1st floor was great for a nightcap. On top of the service, great rooms the hotel was in an exceptional location which made exploring super easy! We spent three days here and then moved to the W and it was nowhere near the level of luxury service - quite frankly we regretted having not stayed at the Edition for our entire stay!

We had the most wonderful experience at the Mercer Hotel. I'd rate it a 6 if I could as our visit there recalibrated the scale. The location was great. Everything was comfortable and the staff is amazing. I'm sure other reviews discuss the Roman wall, the location and the quality of the rooms. All of which were great. We couldn't believe the service by the staff, including concierge Mauro who recommended and made reservations for us at a wonderful restaurant about 1/2 mile away from the hotel (Sagardi), then, rather than giving us directions, walked us to the restaurant and introduced us to the proprietor. Wonderful Charcoal Grilled Steaks and Fish and the friendly Spanish hospitality we received throughout the country. The hotel is on a narrow street that doesn't have car access, but the staff helped us with luggage and taxis and it was all seamless. Breakfast was included in our booking and it was very good in a beautiful setting with beautiful china.

very frienly staff at check-in/check-out and in the restaurant, really clean, and beach promenade easy to reach on foot. for our purpose it was just the perfect choice. view from the rooftop with infinity-pool over Barcelona is outstanding! We can only recommend this hotel, if you wish to stay ”value for money” - taking into consideration, that Barcelona is quite costly in general.

I am getting tired of this hotel not getting its act together. It has so many good things going for it - lovely staff, nice breakfast, great lounge for working or relaxing, comfortable rooms - but someone has stopped investing in this hotel. I have stayed here now on numerous occasions and there are continuing stupid problems 1) the internet should work everywhere and should be fast and effective (its not and this is a problem particularly if you want to work from your room) 2) someone should do something about the housekeeping staff having to use the guest elevators given that there are only two and at peak hours are regularly full of housekeeping trolleys 3) there should be mini bars/fridges in all rooms - it’s ridiculous thats its a guessing game as to which room may or may not have one 4) on my third visit in 6 weeks and there is still the same lack of availability of channels that are not Spanish (in other words all non national channels dont work and the maintenance staff dont know how to fix it - might I suggest therefore paying the subscription?). Am due back here again in a few weeks but I don’t expect any improvements - such a shame.
