Steeped in history, Bath’s Henrietta House originates from the 1780s when a ‘new town’ area of Bath was built south of the river Avon. The architect of Henrietta House and the street was Thomas Baldwin who worked with Sir William Pulteney to divide up what had been river meadows.Today, Henrietta House offers a centrally located, tranquil setting with accommodation in 21 unique rooms.13;10;Bath was one of the most exclusive and glamorous cities in the entire world in the 1700s. Home to celebrated names such as Thomas Gainsborough (painter), Admiral Phillip (founder of Australia), and William Herschel (discoverer of Uranus), Bath was a spa town and retreat for the wealthy. A place where the upper echelons of British society could decamp from their country estates and London town-houses to meet, revel and make new connections over the summer months. The city was filled with the bustle of servants, the clatter of hooves and the chatter of the upper classes, gossiping over tea or duelling at the card table.13;10;Bath’s pre-eminence as ‘the place to be seen’ began to decline in the late 1700s. Whilst seaside resorts such as Brighton became the new fashionable hotspots for the privileged, Bath’s allure as a place of culture, healing and relaxation never disappeared entirely. Over two nights during the Second World War, Bath suffered heavy bombing, destroying much of the city close to the river. The scars of this trauma are evident in the entanglement of old and new buildings scattered across the city today.13;10;Bath is now as popular as ever. It is home to a large student population, drawn by the city’s two esteemed universities. Travellers flock to the city to admire the architecture and peruse the Roman Baths – the grandest amp; best preserved example in northern Europe. Meanwhile, the residents proudly inhabit a UNESCO world heritage city (courtesy of Bath’s Georgian architecture), and its streets are regularly employed as sets for film and TV, starring in films such as ‘The Duchess’, ‘Vanity Fair’ and ‘Sense...

Had high expectations of my stay and it was completely fulfilled and I was impressed.
Overall welcome and ambience was just right being professional and sincere.
Our bed room, junior suite after upgrading with extra fee, was reasonably sized although the bathroom with the layout of the door made it difficult and slightly dangerous to enter / close behind guest.
The spa village was busy but understandable; it felt clean and very updated overall so there was less of a concern on hygiene which is understood can be difficult to maintain standards.
The breakfast room, choices and service was fine as expected so it’s worth signing up for. Although by day 2, it was hard fo imagine having another breakfast so possibly having breakfast for one day as an option would be good.
Would have liked to have body lotion in bathroom as I had to rely on the one available in the spa village… and with 2 nights stay, toiletries were not replenished …
Always a nice welcome when soft drinks / mini bar is complimentary ; although it doesn’t cost a lot to fill a fridge but small gestures like these make guests feel more welcomed
Thanks for a great stay; would like to take my 80 year old mum here sometime in future as she would enjoy it tremendously !!

Lovely old fashioned hotel, it was a bit of a trek from the lift to our room at the top but worth it for the view from the window. Breakfast was very good and beautifully presented. The staff were very polite and completely unobtrusive. Will definitely stay there again.

Attended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful.
We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest.
The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss.
One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go.
Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109.

We booked directly, in January, with the hotel taking up an offer for our March stay. This is a 5 star hotel and we upgraded our room a few days before arrival. The room was lovely with a comfortable 4 poster bed and all facilities as expected. Breakfast was not as we had expected for a 5 star hotel. We had to choose a time to eat, did the earlier people have all the yoghurt? By the time (8.45) we arrived we were scraping the bottom of the deep jar and our cooked breakfast was a meagre portion. The potato cake was very thin, like cardboard, a single thin rasher of bacon and a slice of mushroom. Thank goodness I asked for a grilled tomato! We had to ask for toast that 1st morning. The coffee pot was barely enough for one, we had to ask for more! We had booked to eat in the Vellore Restaurant for my birthday but decided to cancel this, as seemed expensive and breakfast had put us off! So we chose to eat from the bar menu instead, taking the meal in the lounge. Unfortunately the room was pretty cold, we heard other guests complaining about this. Guests can ask for fresh milk to go with the complimentary tea and coffee, but be aware a tiny jug of milk is £6. However the staff were friendly and extremely helpful and the hotel is well situated for the town.
The Best Western Limpley Stoke Hotel is a magnificent 18th Century country house. The hotel enjoys a tranquil village location, yet lies just a 10-minute drive away from Bath and its natural hot springs. With a truly romantic setting, the hotel is ideal for short breaks and long weekends, though thanks to this wonderful location you might be tempted to stay a few more nights.
Peace and quiet are ever present at the Best Western Limpley Stoke Hotel. Of course, as one of the countrys oldest cities dating back to Roman times, Bath is full of historic buildings and ruins, gardens and, of course, the Baths themselves. However, with such spectacular views from the hotel, the Best Western Limpley Stoke offers a host of its own sightseeing opportunities.

Room was comfortable and well prepared. There was some noise from traffic outside late at night.
A late arrival necessitated a snack, which was prepared quicky and with no trouble.
Breakfast offered plenty of choice and the dining room was spacious.
Parking was adequate, although the parking charge was not anticipated.
The main problem was locating the hotel even with a satnav. It was almost impossible to find the way in via a narrow concealed entrance that was not signposted.

AAdesolaBathen House is simply phenomenal from the mixture of old and modern aesthetic that screams class, elegance and luxury to the squeaky clean, serene environment and the oh so polite staff that were always available to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible. It was such a remarkable experience and I would definitely go back again. I absolutely loved my stay at Bathen House and I swill always recommend. It was the best Easter Holiday and Experience.
PPengguna TetamuMy sister and I booked afternoon tea here whilst meeting up for a day in Bath on July 19th. I had seen mixed reviews on Trip Advisor but it was in loads of 'best places in Bath for afternoon tea', so we took a chance. Well we needn't have worried it was just a lovely, lovely experience - just how afternoon tea should be in such elegant 5* surroundings. We were shown to our table in the conservatory part just off the pretty gardens and were sat right by the windows. We were served promptly and had a number of different staff attend us and they were all friendly, engaged and interested and absolutely nothing was any trouble - one of them even got concierge to book us a taxi to take us straight to the rail station and even the taxi driver was brilliant. Interestingly, all of the waiting staff were very young but had obviously been trained impeccably. Our afternoon tea was served promptly and was absolutely delicious in every way. We both shared a non vegetarian and vegetarian option, so as to sample all of the different types of sandwiches, all of which we enjoyed. The cake selection was so pretty and the stand outs for us were the most amazing scones ever and the passionfruit and basil macarons - I could have eaten a whole box full of those little macaron beauties - one just wasn't enough. The chef must be congratulated for his patisserie skills. All in all we had a most memorable experience here and we would most definitely go back again.
PPengguna TetamuIt has been a pleasure to stay in this hotel. A very convenient location to the town centre & the rail station. The service & the facilities in the room & hotel are very good, except the sink in the bathroom is some kind of block, but the receptionist came up to fix it better to use. Overall, I would recommend my friends if they visit Bath.
JJonesRickyI would like to thank the staff for everything they had done for me and my wife after I mad a awful mistake that is to embarrassing to go into ... all I can say is they literally made sure I was not going to be let down and time ruined by going above and beyond anything they needed to do to make my stay a beautiful one after my error ......the food was lovely and also everything was as it was in the pictures if not better something to see for yourself should you go ahead and book a stay .......
PPengguna TetamuI found the hotel very comfortable and friendly. The bedroom was clean, spacious and tidy as was the shower and toilet area. The staff were all smartly dressed and very friendly. Breakfast was excellent, with a good choice of cereals plus a cooked breakfast but I was not keen on the sausages. Car parking was easy as a disabled driver I appreciated that. However on arrival all disabled parking taken but only one car had a disabled card in the window, this needs to be monitored. Not keen on having to pay extra for parking on top of accommodation charge, but that's a NCP charge. The location is not very close to Bath city centre but on a good bus route. Bath city does not encourage cars in the city centre but I did find a good disabled free of charge parking space. However the hotel was well worth the accommodation cost, compared with other hotels in Bath. Would I use this hotel again, yes I would but I will look at others, like most people I do need to keep an eye open for value for money.
PPengguna TetamuGreat location 5 min walk from Pulteney Bridge - lovely terrace overlooking the bowling green and cricket ground towards the Abbey. We had a room in one of the more recent additions to the Bird - whilst this was next to the Bar and terrace it was very quiet and extremely spacious. Fantastic spa bath and large separate shower. Not given 5 stars as the room, whilst really plush did not have a window with a view ( skylight with electric blind) and was quite warm. I’m not in favour of automatically air conditioning rooms, however, this room does need additional cooling. The Hotel are aware of the need for cooling and will no doubt address the issue. Would certainly not stop us booking again - special mention for Caroline and Howard - members of the team you should be proud of.
PPengguna TetamuNice clean room, river view, breakfast was full service- eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, marmite, section of butter, honey and jams as well as yogurts. No cheese and fresh fruit which would have been nice to have. We have a fan in our room and the weather was delightful. We also enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant which- we ordered pork ribs and chicken Ceasar salad(too good as they char grilled the lettuce). Will definitely come back!
PPengguna TetamuPositives - excellent receptionist (Vipin) and without his help I would have probably checked out early. Has parking. Reasonable location and access into central Bath. Has an electric kettle and a pack of cookies.
Not so positives - In desperate need of upgrade, creaking floors, wash basin outside the bathroom. It isn’t for work related travellers as you cannot even use an iron without tripping off the entire building main switch and once that happen there is no 24 hour active reception. No fan or iron provided in room so you have to ask. Tiny computer monitor used as a make shift TV that you have to pull out of a closet. No drinking water in room. Value for money not there as many better locations available at same or lower price.
