It has been a pleasure to stay in this hotel. A very convenient location to the town centre & the rail station. The service & the facilities in the room & hotel are very good, except the sink in the bathroom is some kind of block, but the receptionist came up to fix it better to use. Overall, I would recommend my friends if they visit Bath.

Das Hotel liegt etwas abseits des Zentrums an einer stark befahrenen StraĂe. Daher sollte man ein Zimmer zum Garten wĂ€hlen. Dieser ist groĂ und mit schönen BĂ€umen bewachsen und bietet einen Pavillon, in dem man verweilen kann. Das Haus stammt aus der Mitte des 19. Jhd. und strahlt ein wenig diese Zeit wider. Die Zimmer sind alle unterschiedlich eingerichtet und nostalgisch gestaltet ohne dabei einem bestimmten Stil anzuhĂ€ngen. Die RĂ€ume sind ausreichend groĂ und haben schöne BĂ€der. Die Betten sind bequem, unsere Matratzen waren ziemlich neu..Die Dielenböden sind dick mit Teppichboden belegt. Die Treppen sind eng und der Zimmerzugang bisweilen etwas verwinkelt. Die öffentlichen FlĂ€chen sind dagegen sehr klein. Der Aufenthaltsraum, der gleichzeitig als Bar dient, hat zwei kleinere Sofas und fĂŒnf Sessel. Bar und Rezeption werden von einer Person bedient. Es gibt diverse GetrĂ€nke, jedoch kein gezapftes Bier oder Cocktails und MixgetrĂ€nke. Der FrĂŒhstĂŒcksraum ist nicht viel gröĂer und die GĂ€ste mĂŒssen in drei Schichten von je 45 Minuten frĂŒhstĂŒcken. Das FrĂŒhstĂŒck ist englisch, auf Wunsch vegetarisch oder kontinental, es gib Obstsalat, Yoghurt und FruchtsĂ€fte. Wir hatten vorgebucht, denn das Hotel war voll (Oktober). Es ist als 5* Hotel klassifiziert, was ich nicht ganz nachvollziehen kann, denn da kann man eigentlich mehr erwarten. Die Zimmerpreise sind gerade noch akzeptabel, wenn man das ohnehin höhere Preisniveau von Bath zugrunde legt.

I found the hotel very comfortable and friendly. The bedroom was clean, spacious and tidy as was the shower and toilet area. The staff were all smartly dressed and very friendly. Breakfast was excellent, with a good choice of cereals plus a cooked breakfast but I was not keen on the sausages. Car parking was easy as a disabled driver I appreciated that. However on arrival all disabled parking taken but only one car had a disabled card in the window, this needs to be monitored. Not keen on having to pay extra for parking on top of accommodation charge, but that's a NCP charge. The location is not very close to Bath city centre but on a good bus route. Bath city does not encourage cars in the city centre but I did find a good disabled free of charge parking space. However the hotel was well worth the accommodation cost, compared with other hotels in Bath. Would I use this hotel again, yes I would but I will look at others, like most people I do need to keep an eye open for value for money.

We booked directly, in January, with the hotel taking up an offer for our March stay. This is a 5 star hotel and we upgraded our room a few days before arrival. The room was lovely with a comfortable 4 poster bed and all facilities as expected. Breakfast was not as we had expected for a 5 star hotel. We had to choose a time to eat, did the earlier people have all the yoghurt? By the time (8.45) we arrived we were scraping the bottom of the deep jar and our cooked breakfast was a meagre portion. The potato cake was very thin, like cardboard, a single thin rasher of bacon and a slice of mushroom. Thank goodness I asked for a grilled tomato! We had to ask for toast that 1st morning. The coffee pot was barely enough for one, we had to ask for more! We had booked to eat in the Vellore Restaurant for my birthday but decided to cancel this, as seemed expensive and breakfast had put us off! So we chose to eat from the bar menu instead, taking the meal in the lounge. Unfortunately the room was pretty cold, we heard other guests complaining about this. Guests can ask for fresh milk to go with the complimentary tea and coffee, but be aware a tiny jug of milk is ÂŁ6. However the staff were friendly and extremely helpful and the hotel is well situated for the town.

Bathen House is simply phenomenal from the mixture of old and modern aesthetic that screams class, elegance and luxury to the squeaky clean, serene environment and the oh so polite staff that were always available to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible. It was such a remarkable experience and I would definitely go back again. I absolutely loved my stay at Bathen House and I swill always recommend. It was the best Easter Holiday and Experience.

Room was comfortable and well prepared. There was some noise from traffic outside late at night.
A late arrival necessitated a snack, which was prepared quicky and with no trouble.
Breakfast offered plenty of choice and the dining room was spacious.
Parking was adequate, although the parking charge was not anticipated.
The main problem was locating the hotel even with a satnav. It was almost impossible to find the way in via a narrow concealed entrance that was not signposted.

Everything here was perfect. We had a superior double and it was beautiful. The bathroom had all the amenities you get at a five star hotel. On arrival in the room there is fresh milk, coffee, tea, biscuits and cakes for you. Netflix is provided which is great for when you get back at night to chill. The room was quiet, we did not hear any noise the whole time we were there. Toni is great at giving you advice of where to go and how to get there. The breakfast was delicious and all cooked fresh. If you want a beautiful place to stay and want to be local, do not hesitate book Chestnuts you will not be disappointed.

The delux double room is a huge disappointmemt.Understably, it is a very premium location and other guest probably pay a lot more. However, I wouldn't think of paying over ÂŁ300 to get a room feeling like a old day servant's room. Being placed at the roof extension room with the view mostly blocked, the floor makes the typical old wooden cracking noise as we walk. The curtain, carpet and bathroom are not in the best condition. The glass on top of the table and desk are not well fitted.
Another thing is that, without any previous notice, the spa closed foe maintenance the morning we leave. The fake plants make it look less luxury than its branded.
The plus side, it is kind of inclusive which the spa pool, gym and breakfast are included. The breakfast is quite nice if you like English breakfast or they have some basic buffet.

SSkyshanghaiSumptuous would be the word to describe this hotel. From the lobby to the room to the free snacks pantry, everything is sumptuous. The room we booked is absolutely huge with high ceilings and large windows. The bed and bedding is super super comfortable and we slept really well. The bathroom is nice with a big tub. Location is also excellent, minutes from downtown, the bridge and Roman baths. Looking forward to staying here again.

PPengguna TetamuIt was an amazing experience. The hotel was clean and the staff was phenomenal. The only thing was that the main guy at the front desk was not welcoming after many encounters. The breakfast was great too and the bed was extremely comfortable. Do be aware that late checkouts after 12PM will be a charge of 15ÂŁ, which is not ideal for some travelers. Overall a great stay and an amazing location.

The breakfast was also really lovely. The toilet in the room we stayed in was in a little bit of an awkward position or else this would have recieved 5 stars!

LLiam and JennyAttended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful.
We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest.
The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss.
One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go.
Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109.

Considering that the official websiteâs prices were quite similar, I went with the trip.com booking. I reserved a cozy room for 1 adult without breakfast for ÂŁ113. Money-saving tip: I used TopCashback to access trip.com, earning $7.67 cashback for this booking. After I checked out, trip.com triggered an immediate discount of ÂŁ10.46, which I applied to my next train ticket purchase.

This hotel falls under the Marriott Tribute Portfolio, embracing a boutique hotel approach. The entire establishment dates back to 1739, boasting a historic exterior. Itâs conveniently situated just about 3 minutesâ walk from the Roman Baths and across from Sally Lunnâs. With my Marriott Platinum Card, even with a third-party reservation, the hotel upgraded us to a larger ground floor room facing the street after matching our account, but itâs not advisable due to potential noise. They also offered complimentary Ă la carte breakfast. Breakfast slots had to be reserved during check-in, and we chose a table at 10 AM. The breakfast was abundant, and the restaurant had a charming and lovely atmosphere. The experience was excellent (the best things are free!). Unfortunately, I donât have space for more photos, but Iâll post one of the restaurant later.
The room was quite small, designed in a modern British style, with a movie-themed decor according to the posters on the wall. All the amenities were provided, with local brand toiletries available for purchase at the front desk for ÂŁ25 for two bottles. They were decent, but nothing extraordinary to consider bringing back home. The minibar had coffee, various teas, semi-skimmed milk packets, and biscuits. The bottled still water was in an aesthetically pleasing canned form.

The bed was very comfortable.
â However, there were a few drawbacks to this place⊠a bit unnerving⊠Iâm not sure if I just had bad luck. The hotel corridors were somewhat confusing, and I accidentally opened the wrong room door once using my own room card. Strangely, the next day around ten oâclock, while I was in the bathroom and my son was on the bed, despite securing the latch on our door, someone managed to open it slightly, presumably seeing my son on the bed, and then closed the door. Perhaps it was a housekeeping staff member wanting to clean the room? Regardless, it felt quite odd⊠a little unsettling, to be honest

Not so positives - In desperate need of upgrade, creaking floors, wash basin outside the bathroom. It isnât for work related travellers as you cannot even use an iron without tripping off the entire building main switch and once that happen there is no 24 hour active reception. No fan or iron provided in room so you have to ask. Tiny computer monitor used as a make shift TV that you have to pull out of a closet. No drinking water in room. Value for money not there as many better locations available at same or lower price.
