Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

We stayed at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort mainly for its easy access to the Skyliner, and that was definitely the best part. Our room in the Trinidad section, themed after The Little Mermaid, was less than a five-minute walk from the Skyliner, which was very convenient. Unfortunately, the rest of our stay was disappointing. The room had a strong mouldy smell that lingered on our belongings even after washing them at home. We also found a cockroach, the air conditioning was so loud we couldn’t sleep with it on, and the noise from neighbouring rooms was very noticeable. Housekeeping was poor—the bath was dirty all week with marks from previous guests, and we were given a stained towel. They only tidied the room rather than properly cleaning it. The main pool was closed for refurbishment, and we were only informed eight days before check-in. However, due to the weather during our stay, we likely wouldn’t have used it anyway. Given the high price compared to Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort (where we previously stayed), it wasn’t worth the extra cost. While the Skyliner access was great, the poor room conditions, lack of cleanliness, and overall experience did not meet Disney’s usual standards. We won’t be staying here again.

We travelled from Australia as a family of four with our 12 and 16yr old daughters and stayed at Carribean Beach Resort for 11 nights. We were nervous about the size of the resort from what we had read, but still requested the refurbished "under the sea" 5th sleeper room upon arrival. Despite not having originally been allocated a room in this section, they made it happen for us and our room was ready at 10am. We had a corner room and it was surprisingly spacious. There was plenty of drawer space to unpack all our clothes and we stored the empty suitcases in the corner of the room. My 12 year old slept in the 5th sleeper bed and just fitted in terms of length. We phoned and requested a microwave which was promptly brought. It was relatively easy to get around the resort using the internal bus system or walking and the Spyglass Grill was right by our building. They also have toasters and microwaves available to use there and provide free butter and cream cheese (you just have to ask). Skyliner access was incredible and the Joffreys always had coffee and tasty doughnuts! When my daughter got sick, reception sent crackers to the room and offered medical attention. Nothing was too much trouble. We loved the relaxed vibe after long park days and felt there weren't heaps of screaming children, which made our stay more pleasant. We would 100% stay at this resort again.

This room is terrible for the price. There is one tiny window and all the furnishings are heavy making the room very dark. The beds are high off the ground making it difficult to get in and the room is tired, dated and unattractive. Do not stay here.

We have stayed at Caribbean Beach several times and continue to love this hotel. It has only gotten better with the addition of the Skyliner, which makes it so convenient to get to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. The rooms are all we need for our Disney visit, which generally involves little time in the room. We had the standard twin queen with a 5th sleeper (which is more than enough room for my wife and I). The beds and pillows are excellent and so comfortable! The bathroom has your basic amenities, and my wife liked the quality of the shampoo and conditioner. The shower water pressure is great and can help you feel better if you are tired after a long park day! Having the sinks outside the shower and toilet makes for quick getting ready. We were in Aruba which is very close to the Riviera Skyliner stop - direct service to EPCOT. With a bit more of a walk in the other direction you get to the Caribbean Beach stop for direct service to Hollywood Studios. It is a bit of a walk to Port Royale, but that isn't an issue for us (and the walk is very pretty). I'll take off a 1/2 star for two items: 1) The energy-saving HVAC won't get the room lower than 68F. That is not a very comfortable sleeping temperature for us. Thankfully there is a ceiling fan, which did help. 2) No elevators to the 2nd floor.

We traveled with two scooters and it was difficult. We had two ground floor rooms that connected (which was fabulous). Our building was in Aruba. Disney has got to do better with their transportation. To get to our bus stop was a good quarter mile and the busses can get full. Taking an uber isn’t an option with mobility scooters. We were only there a few days and the transportation was not good. We were able to ride the skyliner and that was fast and so great. But it just serviced Epcot and Disney studio. The whole bus thing was frustrating. But we don’t like lines or buses. We did the VIP experience one day, and they picked us up at the lobby. So there again, a problem getting the scooters over to their lobby. Universal picked us up at our building but Disney made us go to the lobby (quite a distance from our building).

Nice room and resort but pull down toddler bed is DANGEROUS! We are a retired couple, and I pulled opened the cabinet thinking it might be storage when we checked in. The bed came down hard, almost knocking me over. The resort engineer came out and looked at it and said it has hydraulics. Yes, it has hydraulics, but they only kick in after the bed has come down a foot (and come down hard). If a small child is standing on the bench and messing with it, it could be really bad. I reported it but I don't think I made much of an impression. I wouldn't stay here if you have small children, although the bed is cute.
