This is a solid hotel! Great room, refurbished and modern centered by a cushy king size bed that helped me sleep like a rock. The room was well lit and the desk perfect for business as I worked during this trip. The rear view rooms showcase the typical PNW greenery with trees and shrubs framing the entrance of a competing hotel next door. It is located adjacent to 158th street which puts you on the 26 Freeway in 4 minutes to Canon Beach or Downtown Portland. It is located close to the Streets of Tanasbourne which means lots of shopping (Target, Ross, Safeway, Fred Meyer, Whole Foods, Costco) and eating places from fast food to famous restaurant chains (Five Guys, P.F.Changs, Peet’s, Star$, McD’s, Chik-Fil-A, 24 hour Subway). Back to the room…the shower head was a bit old considering the modern stall, but the body soap, shampoo and conditioner bottles were available and of good quality. The face bowl area is spacious enough, but the soap is about the size of a silver dollar which was underwhelming. The front desk staff are cordial and professional. Overall, I would describe them all as “cool” not as in “hip” but as in displaying an even temperament. The room service staff were more warm and kind. One day I requested a room cleaning around 2:30pm and the front desk told me all the ladies were going home and that I should schedule for the next day. As luck would have it the nice lady who had just finished the room next to me was kind enough to take care of my room with time to end her shift on time. I didn’t have breakfast but saw the meal room. It was roomy, updated with plenty of natural light and plenty of space for the continental breakfast they serve from 6am to 9am weekday mornings. There is a small microwave available for guests to heat their food and the coffee, hot water thermal carafes are available 24/7. If new hot water needs to be added the front desk staff is glad to do it. Overall I had an enjoyable stay. I have provided current pictures for your perusal, which support my claims that this is a solid hotel. I forgot to mention that this property is reasonably priced around $140.00 per night. For me it was a return to what the Fairfield Inns used to be back in the 1990s when I first began staying with them. Worth the money and excellent location.
