Bern Backpackers Hotel Glocke

The place was amazing because it is located at the center of the town. Also the room was nice and clean. The view in our case was amazing (5th floor front view).

When we arrived check in was great. The receptionist was lovely and chatty and gave us a lot of information! We were given one set of keys each for our room and locker! The room was nice and clean. The beds were comfy once made and the lockers were spacious. The room had a sink in it which was really convenient! The toilets could have been cleaned more regularly as the first time I used them it was not clean at all. The showers and toilet was close to the room which was good. The wifi kept cutting out and not working which was really annoying. The kitchen was alright with 2 hobs and a kettle. There was a big common room with tables and couches and a tv with dvds. Everything was great until the first night when we were having our dinner. We had used the kitchen and cleaned up after ourselves. Then the nice receptionist who checked us in approached us at the table while we were eating our dinner and told us to clean up our mess and after we told her we had she was very rude and told us there is mess everywhere and we need to clean it. It was very inappropriate to interrupt our dinner and blame us for making mess in the kitchen. Afterwards we were heading back to her room and she asked us why we looked so annoyed and I told her it wasn’t our mess and she seemed really apologetic but it doesn’t excuse the behaviour. Apart from that the stay was good. The location was fantastic and with the hostel you get free transportation for the entire stay. Overall, a well equipped, good hostel that i would recommend.

Very cosy and friendly hostel. Baths and toilets always clean. The same can be said about the kitchen and common area. Localised in strict center so it's great start for any tour. There is locker assigned to each bed which easily fits even big 80l backpacks. There is washing machine and dryer available. You'll get 25% discount for Rathause Parking when staying at hostel. All staff members were super friendly and helpful. I would like especially thank and give Shoutout to the one from Finland 😉

Can’t rate this place highly enough! In an expensive country this is comfort on the less expensive side of the scale. Rooms and facilities spotless. Common room has extras like cereals, coffee & pasta available too. Washing machines modern and new. Staff couldn’t be more friendly, helpful and enthusiastic about your stay. We had a double room. They’re small but comfortable and the double glazing is very effective so despite central location, a good night’s sleep - and I’m fussy! Loads of hot water, plenty of access to facilities. Location excellent for city experience. Enjoy!

The place was super comfortable, the staff extremely hospitable and friendly, and the cleanliness was top quality. Would strongly recommend. It is very well located and gives you access to different important sites in the city.

A fantastic, safe, clean and secure hostel with wonderful staff. The rooms were clean warm and comfortable. The well stocked kitchen help keep the holiday costs down. Loved lounging on the comfortable settee's after a long days site seeing. Can be a bit noisy with the clock chimes if you sleep with the window open.

The hostel staff were lovely and extremely helpful and the facilities were spotless and well equipped. Our room was basic but had everything we needed. The location was excellent in the centre of Bern. The price was good value in terms of Switzerland prices but we still payed more than we might have paid for the same accommodation elsewhere.

This was our favorite place we stayed on our trip. We have never stayed in a Hostel before because we assumed it would be a bunch of partying young people. This place was lovely! Clean, quiet. Coffee machine and kitchen was a definite plus. All the staff was wonderful. It was so close to public transportation. I would definitely stay here again.

Bern is just an utterly incredible place. Quiet, but packed full of adventure. The hostel could not be more centrally placed and the view from the window was like a fairytale. Staff couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. Extra large locker with key to fit all your stuff and feel super safe. Plenty of sockets for charging too! Very clean, very safe feeling, brilliant staff and incredibly central! Couldn’t recommend enough.
