Hotel 2 Bintang di Bern

Switzerland such an amazing country with so lovely ppl, but this hotel was the worst! Staff at the reception was extremely not professional in Ibis and Novotel (both). Whenever u ask any assistance they will never even try to help or assist you, the hosting is the worse. The girl at the reception from Novotel just careless, she will look at you as you have to deal with ur problems. No Adapter to even charge the phone they can’t provide. We stayed for more than 7 hotels at the time we checked in here and even in the villages were adapters. Okay that’s not the main problem. Business center of the Novotel is USELESS! U can’t download, exit save send to ur own email as they blocking system, okay why then I need the business center?! So we just sit there for 1 hour and didn’t understand the problem, and the guy from reception said yes this is how it is. Take it or leave it! But as everywhere there are sone good ppl, who has really deserved to work in a hospitality field. Staff such as like JANINE & TANZINE ( i hope the spelling is correct) were just an angel and a fresh air from this all what we faced during the stay. They just solved our problems in a second, that’s the host we’re looking for when we come to the country where u don’t know anything and anyone. Thanks girls, rock it stars! The reception was very helpful and courteous. The family room was very big and clean. My daughter loved the experience of the old elevator. Breakfast is simple but had everything needed. Locations was great for us … walking distance to everything.

I spent two nights at Marthahaus hotel. It's located in a quite residential area. My room was on the second floor (which is considered 1st floor in Bern), with a window overlooking a courtyard. The window had shutters, which protected against the heat in a very hot summer. The room was spacious and furnished in a contemporary style. The bed and the pillow were comfortable, the sheets impeccable. I only wish there was a light summer blanket! My room had an in-suite bathroom. A hairdryer was provided. There were many healthy options for breakfast. Marthahaus is close to the railway station : a 15-minute walk across the bridge. There's also a bus stop nearby. I found a pleasant route to the old town: down to Aare river through the botanical garden, across a pedestrian bridge, up the stairs leading to Kornhausplatz. During my stay I never had an issue with wi-fi. The hotel staff very friendly and always on site.

It's was a wonderful trip to Bern and also Moxy Hotel. This is my first time in Moxy and my expectation was that it will be amazing friendly hotel and it was more then amazing. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this hotel. When we went to check in, we got a WARM welcome from reception staff member. They explained about hotel, Bern ticket and the old town. The man at the reception gave us a voucher for a welcome drink which was very nice. Room was super cute but we did not found a laundry, but there was an ironing room. The thing which I loved the most in a room was a welcome message on a TV!! Overall, I recommend this hotel for everyone!!!

Ich war für zwei Nächte in der Jugendherberge Bern und muss sagen, dass es eine super Adresse für einen Kurzaufenthalt in Bern ist. Die Reservierung und Bezahlung vorab war komplett unproblematisch. Der staff war super freundlich, hat sich Zeit genommen Dinge zu erklären und man konnte sogar nett plaudern. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, sauber und großer Bonus: Es gibt für jeden einen Schrank den man mit der Zimmerkarte verschließen kann. Das Frühstück ist inklusive und es ist mehr als reichhaltig: Kaffee, Müsli, Brot, Käse, Obst so viel man will. Angesichts der teuren Preise in Bern ist das ein absoluter Genuss so in den Tag zu starten. Man bekommt im Preis inklusive auch die Bern Card 2. Klasse mit welcher man alle öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel nutzen kann (auch die Gurtenbahn). Ich habe nur zwei kleine Dinge zu bemängeln: Bad und Toilette waren ins Treppenhaus gebaut und sehr eng. Und die Matrazen waren absolut durchgelegen. Abgesehen von diesen Kleinigkeiten kann ich aber besonders auch aufgrund der Lage einen Besuch nur empfehlen. Die Jugendherbeger liegt direkt an der Innenstadt und es ist trotzdem angenehm ruhig direkt neben der Aare.

The location was lovely and the reception staff were incredibly helpful and gave us some great suggestions for places to visit. The only issues for me were that room was very very small for two of us with large suitcases and the shower was a bit too intense with the pressure. Besides that the aircon was wonderful, beds were relatively comfy and the breakfast was lovely and delicious!!!!

First the good things. It is across the street, in front of the train station at Bern. It was perfect for us as we were planning to (and did) go to a different city every day. They also gave us a voucher so we could use all Bern public transportation during our stay. I dont know if it is a standard in Bern, but it was welcomed. On the other hand, dont expect the hotel to be a luxury or modern one. The hotel is simple, to put it nicely. At some hours, during the day, the entrance had a bad smell. We did not book the breakfast, but, when we checked it, it turned out to be a wise decision. Room heating can only be controlled by opening windows. Pluggin laptops, phones and other things that needed charging was an exercise in logistics. The people at the front desk were all over the spectrum. The lady who received us was incredibly nice. That was it. Everybody else at the desk seemed to dislike their job and were more than willing to let you feel it.

Taking the hotel at face value and considering the price we paid (I think quite a good deal from hotels.com) we were really pleased with our stay. La Pergola isn’t in the middle of the city centre, but it’s quite close and well connected by public transport (which they give you a free pass for)! We parked our car there and got around on busses. The man at reception kindly didn’t charge us for parking as there was almost no demand for it that night. The service staff in general were really nice. The hallways and common spaces are a bit bleak, but functional - it’s clear they’ve saved money here. The sound isolation isn’t the best either. But the room itself is actually great! Big enough for suitcases and stuff to be strewn around because of a clever use fo space. Proper outdoor blinds for a good night’s sleep on the comfy king size bed. Body wash available, nothing fancy but does the job. Honestly, for what we expected, it surpassed, so we were happy with our stay. Is it the best hotel in the world, no. Do you get what you pay for in expensive but beautiful Bern, yes. Good for those on budget!

The worst experience of my life! I planned to visit the beautiful city of Bern with my family a few years ago. The visit to the city was wonderful and to top it off I chose a four star “Boutique Hotel” to stay with my family and have a great experience. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN! The hotel put my family in a room on the top floor in the ATTIC with small windows and no air circulation. To solve this, the “four star Boutique Hotel” put a fan in the room. Apart from this problem, the room had a hydraulic problem and the hotel found a very creative solution to solve the problem! The entrance door to the room was cut and through it passed a tube that entered through the outside of the wall reaching the bathroom with the door also cut! a work of art that unfortunately does not match the expectations I had for a “Boutique Hotel” in Bern - Switzerland! A very sad experience! I do not recommend this hotel to anyone! ( attached photos )

This hotel is ideal for a long weekend or business trip, located as it is within easy walking distance from the station and close to a bus stop from where you can visit all you want to see of this lovely historic capital of Switzerland. The hotel bedrooms are on the small side and basically furnished, but they are comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is excellent - the best I have enjoyed in hotels across Switzerland - and the breakfast room is spacious. Above all the personnel were friendly and helpful - when the train network broke down on the day of my departure they allowed me to return to my room to rest!
