I recently stayed at this hotel and had a very unpleasant experience. The room had a nauseating smell of sewage, which made it very difficult to stay in. The carpet in the hallways was completely worn out and damaged. My room (number 14) overlooked a storage area filled with mattresses, dirty towels, and garbage. The heat was unbearable, and there was no proper ventilation. Opening the window was not an option as it led to a corridor with open windows, allowing anyone to enter our room or look inside. The cleaning service was minimal and insufficient. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel.

Nice two night stay for a good price. €65 a night. Well located, right beside National Opera house of Bordeaux. Close walk to most viewing points of the city. Nice warm shower. Only negative, very loud building works in the morning taking place. Would stay again for handiness.

3 nights at 2* Opera Hotel .. not sure what second star was for!? Good: Centre of Bordeaux. Low cost Bad: Not clean, no recption, no A/C. No 'fresh' air. Musty/smelly. Shower = warm/freezing/boiling

Good location but very tiny room and bathroom. No AC and breakfast was in the other place. So if you don’t want to spend too much time in your room this is a great choice. Easy to get from the airport.

We stayed here for 2 nights in March. Pluses: 1. Excellent location, across from the Opera House, walkable to everything 2. Quiet, clean, secure 3. Excellent price point for the location 4. New, comfy beds Minuses: 1. It's not been remodeled for at least 30 years 2. It has no reception- you must go to its sister hotel (4 Soeurs) to check in 3. Very slow wifi 4. Disorganized- the morning we were to check in, I received a phone call saying I had "made a mistake" (I had not) and booked 2 rooms; when we arrived, they insisted I hadn't yet paid (I had). Luckily I had printouts from my booking or they probably would have charged me again. 5. No free breakfast Overall, if you want a budget Bordeaux stay, I recommend.

The location is excellent; right in the city centre and, for the location, is remarkably cheap. The rooms are small and very basic, but everything you need is there, even a good choice of English language TV channels. The aged decor gives a rundown feel, but it is acceptably clean. All in all the hotel represents excellent value for money and is a great place to stay to visit Bordeaux centre on a budget.

If you want a comfortable clean room at a reasonable price right in the centre of Bordeaux this is ideal. It is part of the Hotel des 4 Soeurs which is just around the corner and you check in there, you can also leave luggage there too. Once you have your key Hotel de L'Opera is just around the corner and there is a lift. The rooms are small but well appointed and imagine they can get very hot and steamed up if you don't open the windows (see the review further down this page). The shower room and loo were very clean and there was an extractor fan. Great value for money, very central, clean and ideal for a tourist who just wants a bed for the night.

Centrally located hotel. Small but very clean and tidy rooms. Staff has been very polite, professional and friendly. Basic breakfast that could probably be enriched with a few more items. Definitely coming back on my next trip.

Va bene che è un albergo di bassa categoria comunque sugli ottanta euro l'abbiamo pagato senza la colazione. L'ingresso è sporco, tutto lascia un senso di abbandono, pareti e vetri sporchi. No aria condizionata. Solo una presa elettrica utilizzabile.Bagno angusto e abbastanza sporco, parete in cartongesso con risalita di umidità. Siamo stati 4 notti e la camera è stata rifatta solo il primo giorno. L'unica cosa positiva è che si trova a due passi da piazza Quinconce, snodo delle linee tram, e dall'ufficio turismo
