Hotel berhampiran Baxter Crescent Park, Brisbane

Very helpful, clean and friendly. The only concern I had was the fire escape plan. We were on the ground floor and the outdoor area was surrounded by aluminium lattice work which was welded shut. The only way out was back through the one way hallway to the exit doors. If there was a fire you would have to climb 2m over the lattice to get out. When I asked about it they said it's a brick building so you don't have to really worry about fire....😬

The Calamvale Hotel seems like it is in an odd location, but there aren't many other choices in this part of Brisbane Southside. I stayed for two nights with two rooms in-between moving out of a property and leaving Brisbane. Check in was fast and easy and was in the 3rd floor rooms within minutes. Parking in the afternoon was no problem with space out front and in the basement. Note the carpark does get busy in the evening with patrons attending the restaurant. The rooms were very generously sized, modern and clean. Beds and pillows were great and the bathrooms were great too. I didn't eat at the restaurant this time, but had previously. Expect the typical Australian pub fare. Overall, a pleasant and drama free stay. My only criticism would be the room rate is steep considering it isn't a CBD hotel, but as mentioned there aren't many options in this part of Brisbane. I'd likely stay again if I needed to be in the area.

Loc Super convenient location on the corner of Jephson St and Sherwood Rd, with the popular Toowong Village Shopping Centre, a 10 minute walk away. The Toowong railway station can be accessed directly from the shopping centre. There are plenty of buses trundling up and down Sherwood Rd heading in various directions to the city or to the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre further south. The nearest ferry terminal is Regatta, less than a km away, but at the time of writing it is still under repair following last year's floods. Room We found the room to be clean, comfortable and spacious, with a large king bed, two bedside tables, each with a drawer and a lamp, a TV on the wall, and a handy desk for working at. On the balcony, was a small table and two chairs. There were plenty of power points to charge appliances and the downlights were strong enough for easy reading. The stylish touch lamp on the desk and standing lamp in the corner were useful for extra illumination. There was a hanging rail with about eight hangers. There were two sets of two drawers, one underneath the hanging rail and the safe, with one larger set underneath the TV. They were reasonably sized, but being virtually on the floor, they were super inconvenient to access. I can’t understand why the designers didn’t think of this, because it’s extra difficult to get down so low, especially if you’re a bit older, or with knee problems. Also in the room was a safe but that too required bending down. On top of the safe and below the hanging rail was a shelf to store one suitcase. The tea and coffee making facilities were also very difficult to access as they were rammed into a little shelf snuck between the drawers and the desk-top. The room though was quiet, being at the back of the property and therefore not facing directly onto either Jephson Street or Sherwood Rd, both busy roads. One could hear some noise from within the hotel as people walked up and down the corridor, but it was a minor inconvenience and most fellow guests seemed friendly and well behaved. There wasn’t much of a view, and the room just looked out onto the sprawling next door apartment complex, and to the right between the trees we could see Jephson Street, and the traffic going up and down, but the sound didn’t carry into the bedroom if the balcony door was kept closed. Bathroom The bathroom was not an en-suite, being situated in the passageway, between the front door and the bed. That was just as well, as it had a sliding door, which is never great for privacy, although it could be locked. But the bathroom was modern and stylish, and the water pressure in the shower was strong. A transparent glass wall separated the bathroom from the bedroom, which shocked me when I first saw it. I immediately phoned the reception to tell them that we needed another room due to the lack of bathroom privacy. 7 nights in Deluxe King Studio King bed was wonderful - size, firmness/softness, bedding, spare around; kitchen space was compact but functional for one person at a time; shower and ensuite were very nice - great water pressure and temperature and space; parking at the door of the room; room was toward the back of the property and quiet all the time; rooms are not serviced on the weekend :( (if your stay includes a weekend) overall very good

Quiet, comfortable and well positioned if you need accommodation on the south side of Brisbane. Friendly staff and plenty of off street parking but I would highly recommend arriving and departing outside of morning or afternoon peak traffic to make getting in or out of the entrance easier.

I was only here for one night and that was mainly due to an appointment the following morning within travelling distance from this location. And I wanted to get away from hustle & bustle of CBD especially with a vehicle. The staff were prompt in responding to emails for assistance with various things prior to my stay which I found pleasing. They were just as helpful during my stay also I enjoyed my stay. Rooms were clean with all facilities available. No issues with noise. The 2 drink vouchers for the bar were nice. Enjoyed them whilst watching sports are the bar. Breakfast included, was only a small pack but that was sufficient. Few shops, cafes, restaurants nearby. Ample carparking. Wifi worked well. TV in room. Overall good place and highly recommended

Staff are very friendly and helpful, although official check-in time is 18:30, they can arrange late check-in. Good value for money.

This motel is not far outside the BNE Local Government Area and was a convenient spot for us as we transitted BNE Airport overnight going to rural QLD whilst the city was in lockdown. It is clean. Convenient. Close to the main road. A good price and an OK proposition for families. At the time it was a pricey proposition for a family but understandable given school hols and so close to the Gold Coast. Management are friendly and patient. Whilst we are unlikely need to transit this area again, this would be my choice of we did.

I stayed here for 6 nights for a training course nearby. I was impressed overall. Room was clean, wifi was very fast with a strong signal and the room relatively was quiet, despite being near a busy main road. Rooms included a pod coffee machine too, with coffee pods free of charge from reception. Walking distance from Rocklea railway station (which is temporarily closed but has stationlink buses to to the next station up the line). Only minor quibble was that reception was sometimes closed earlier than the published hours. I would happily stay here again.

We were not aware of the late check in procedures but thankfully the staff (Dana) reached out and sorted it out for us, otherwise we might have been locked out! The hotel,building and room looks clean and new. Although it's located right above Taringa train station, we did not hear any sounds from the trains at all during our stay. Covered parking is available for a fee or there is usually street parking. If you are checking in, there is a loading zone next to the hotel. As the hotel is on a steep slope, might be worthwhile parking as near you can to unload. Although there is no housekeeping services for short stays, the front desk are helpful with any requests always. Overall, a great affordable find for a new-ish hotel and minutes away from the CBD, UQ and westfield indooroopilly.
