Good room, great breakfast, but service from staff can be just slightly better I.e. be more friendly

I booked this hotel at the last minute for a short trip to Brussels for an event.I arrived at night time so it took a while to get my bearings from De Bruckere metro station. I arrived tired and hungry so once I checked in,I got a quick shower to freshen up. Booked a single room (bed was slightly bigger than a single). Okay size for the time I was there. It had a patio door so could go outside if you smoke. Bathroom small but for what I needed perfect. There was even a hairdryer which was needed as my trousers had been washed before ai left home and were a bit damp and also for drying hair on the Sunday morning. A safe was in the room and a colour TV with a desk and chair. Foodwise,the information in the hotel booklet in the room needs to be updated as it stated breakfast was on the 7th floor. It wasn't it was on the ground floor then you had to go down a couple of lots of stairs so bear this in mind if wanting to eat breakfast in the hotel especially if disabled or you have mobility issues.Breakfast was scrambled egg,bacon,mushrooms,baked beans if you wanted a hot option. There was also a waffle machine,toast,cereals,yogurt,fruit and pastries with water,fruit juice and two hot drinks makers for tea,coggee and hot chocolate. Food was ok for setting me up for the rest of the day. There are lots of bars and restaurants nearby selling a variety of different cuisines however the friterie a few doors up seemed to always be busy. Location wise about 6 minutes walk to the Grand Place and about 8-10 minutes to the Mannequin Pis. In the other direction about the same to the Place de Monnaie which has lots of shops like Uniqlo,Foot Locket,Primark,Decathlon etc. There is a Dunkin Donuts however there is only seating on the upstairs level and there is no lift. Found using the Beurs metro either no 4 or 10 useful for if getting the Eurostar from Brussels. Staff helpful as was able to leave my bags in the left luggage room whilst sightseeing on last day and helped with directions to get to South-Midi station. Only complaints if you can call them that are,lack of kettle in room for making a tea or coffee (much needed after a long journey),decoration in room needs a refresh as paint work chipped and looks like it has seen better days same with corridors away from hotel lobby.

Right in the middle of attraction places. Closed to central station. They allow you to check in early as well. Yummy breakfast. You will love it.

Location is really good, clearn, safe. The only thing is that area, cars are not allowed to be in, so I had to walk 5 mins with suitcases on dimpy brick streets…. Which was so hard.

Location is very good. The Grand Place is 1 min away. The staff are also very helpful and the room is bery clean and have no things to nitpick about. We stayed during winter; the heating works very well.

An awful experience. The room was old and old fashioned, with no sound proof from the street whatsoever (I could listen to all the noises all night long), and the pipes were not inside the walls (like in normal buildings). The cleanliness was not that great either. The only good aspects: the location (right next to the Grand Place) and the breakfast (which was Ok).

A good location hotel situated in the city. You can access to all famous place in Brussels

The hotel is in a great location less than a minute walk to the Grand Place. My room wasn’t perfect (209) the toilet kept making a hissing sound the whole time until I turned the water off. The shower had very weak pressure as well. The room has a door leading out to a rooftop which is good but so do all the other room on that floor so I couldn’t leave it open at night because I didn’t feel safe and the room doesn’t have a window to open. The breakfast in the morning was very good just a few little issues with my room but the rest of the hotel was good.

Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to Grand Place and tram/train stations. Unfortunately, we got a room in the older wing and the lift to the rooms broke down. We had to carry our luggages up and down the stairs but the staff at the front desk were helpful to assist with one of our luggages. Very friendly staff especially the one usually on morning-early afternoon shift. Room is ok, one of the bedside lights was not working but that was fine. The aircon is very good. The bathroom seemed smaller than those in the newer wing (as reviewed by others), with much smaller sink and only had a shower curtain as divider. Breakfast is good with a decent hot and cold food variety.

Air conditioning is considered not working (has sound, but no cold air coming out) I guess.. called reception, they informed they will look into it the next day as it’s night when we checked in.. But next day when we go to the reception to ask, staff say that is normal.. Room temperature at 28-29 degrees at night, sweating while we sleep, I don’t think it’s common.. Not too sure about this though, but it’s a bad 2 nights for my friend and I.. TV in room is faulty, cannot on.. Only plus point is Location, near to the train stations and lots of restaurants and bars around.. All within walking distance..

Plus points: Large spacious room. Warm. Nice breakfast. Good location Minus: No kettle. Street below my room was noisy at night. Maybe ask for a quiet room if that's important.

Electricity is cut and short for 30mins Very small bed but no bed bug
