Burford Lodge Hotel - Adults Only

Having not long returned from a three night stay over new year at the Burford lodge hotel with friends, we are all of the same opinion that The Burford lodge Hotel is a lovely clean and cosy place to stay with really nice and friendly proprietor's and staff. looking forward to seeing you same time this year . thanks to all and have a great holiday.

Room cold as window was still open at 19.30 heater was not on. We put it on and it blew the kettle and the T.V. No Boxing night T.V. Attendant was helpful but fiddled with fuses to no avail. We were moved around 20hrs but as rooms were not heated until we arrived think the hotel needs an upgrade as there was no extractor in bathroom either. Will not use this Travel Lodge again!

Excellent, friendly hotel offering very comfy rooms and good restaurant and bar. Owners very friendly and welcoming and had a free room upgrade, which always appreciated. Dinner and breakfast all made from local produce and excellent quality. Will return !

A beautiful old hotel, warm and welcoming in a great location near the town centre. The food was fantastic - the nicest we found in the area. The hostess was lovely - very accommodating and friendly. We will certainly return if we get the chance.

Our stay at Burford Lodge Hotel was amazing. The owners, Rob and Andrea gave us a warm welcome and assured us that our needs will be taken cared of. Indeed, our 3-night stay had proven them true to their words. The rooms were clean, food was delicious, and on top of it all, the kindness and courtesy they afford to their guests deserve an applaud. We stayed in the Jacuzzi Room at Burford Lodge Hotel for two nights in June 2024. On arrival we were greeted warmly and were very kindly helped carrying our luggage up tom our room on the top floor. The Jacuzzi Room was clean and spacious as was the bathroom but the room with its brown mottled carpeting and bathroom were dated. The hotel is on a busy road and despite there being double glazing you can still hear the sound of traffic especially as the jacuzzi room faces the road. The hotel is very close to the wonderful Burford Nursery but a fair walk to restaurants and the Burford main street. Breakfast was well presented and the lady serving us both mornings was very friendly and eager to please. On our first night and the following morning the water in both the shower and "jacuzzi" was just a cold trickle. We tried to speak to the lady cleaning the rooms but she did not speak english and neither of the owners were available. When we arrived back later in the day I spoke to the owner about the lack of hot water in our room and she alluded to the fact that there was a problem and would send her husband to see if anything could be done. He did come and check at which time (2pm) the water did work in a fashion as no one else in the building was using hot water however that night and the following morning the water was again just a cold trickle. It is quite obvious that the hot water system in the hotel is not adequate for the building. At no time was there any sort of apology or acknowledgement about the lack of hot water in fact the owner was dismissive almost to the point of being rude. When I returned our key on check-out the owner who was sitting at the front desk did not look up or even acknowledge me which I found exceedingly rude, he should not be in the hospitality business. In conclusion we will not choose to stay at Burford Lodge Hotel again.
