Gavimar la Mirada Hotel and Apartments

The whole experience was excellent. All staff were great and efficient. Great quality food and drinks, particularly considering quality cost ratio. All common areas, and room continuously being cleaned. Definitely a place I would like to repeat next year.

The hotel is a good balance between fun and relaxing. Food was good a pool area is nice. The entertainment was great. Lucas made the experience very enjoyable as he was good fun and very friendly. Eddie was also great on the bar. 10/10 would recommend.

A great family friendly hotel. All inclusive has a really good choice to suit all. Staff are lovely and entertainment around the pool is good.. pool side bar available all day. I have been here a few times and would definitely come again..also some lovely shops, beaches and bars on your doorstep too

second stay at the Gavimar la Mirada in the space of a year and had hoped to be returning this summer, sadly now not looking likely. Good points - the incredible hard working cleaning and serving staff, the infectious enthusiasm of my favourite bartender Eddie and the great variety of food available. The negatives that have really let me down this year are the following, on night following our arrival , trying to catch up on sleep lost on the outward journey the night before, we were constantly annoyed by a bunch of feral brats running the halls and knocking doors and windows, this was bad enough but a lack of response to this - which went on for over two hours is not acceptable, even after two calls to reception about this, Secondly - my son has autism and loves nothing more than having a dip in the pool with his inflatable doughnut. No issues with this all last summer and no issues on first day - not a thing was said about it. I know the hotel has a policy saying no inflatables in the pool but last year the same policy was in place but was never enforced - seen dozens of kids in pool with inflatables. on second day of our stay my son got shouted at by pool attendant and forced to leave the pool and he could not understand this - i found he had taken himself up to our room and sat on the bed crying and distressed as he had been shouted at. Now im fully onboard with a no inflatables rule if it is constantly enforced but having the rules ignored one day then strictly enforced the next was a bit much and i guarantee in summer there will be plenty of kids in the pools with inflatables. the worst thing about this is that no-one was even using the pool apart from him, everyone else was lying out on loungers . Surely management should consider revising this policy for a more common sense approach such as only allowing them when pool not deemed busy and advising kids that they can use them if pool isnt busy but may have to take them out if deemed that pool occupancy increases - just a thought. So sadly and with a genuinely heavy heart i feel that we are not likely to be back. I feel that some staff could do with a course in sensitivity in dealing with those with additional needs also as i met a few families with kids with Autism there as the same time as us. I wish nothing but the best for all the staff of the Gavimar La Mirada going forward and hope future guests have a wonderful holiday. Thank You

Over the last few years I have had the fortune of staying in a number of hotels, hostels and holiday lets. This is by far the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We arrived at 2am due to flight times/easyjet transfers delays. Upon arrival I had to search for someone to be able to check us in. We started travelling at 7am the prior day so this was less than ideal. The receptionist did then ask us if we wanted something to eat but at that point we were exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. We then arrive in the room (one bed apar**ent) which was a really good size, decent balcony but felt a little bit unclean. Not to worry, we were tired and went to sleep. The next day we got up to head down to breakfast. The first breakfast we had was the best meal of the trip; it rapidly went downhill from here. The food was that bad we didn't eat at the hotel, save for making cheese sandwiches at lunchtime, for the 2nd half of our week. This seemingly was common as we often found the other guests at the same restaurants each night. The drinks machines were also not good. The drinks all tasted completely off so we spent most the time going to the shop to buy drinks. I think, particularly as a fatty, I'm the first person to go on an all inclusive holiday and come home having lost weight. After that breakfast we went back up to the room to prepare for the day. The shower and taps were salt water (the only place you can seemingly get "fresh" water from is an old beer tap) . The shower pressure was awful and the shower ran hot then cold with no consistency. We then headed down to the also salty and freezing pool. The best place to sunbathe was up on the sun terrace away from the pool, unfortunately though this appeared to be where the older sunbeds were put. Most of them had torn or slacked or were mouldy. This was massively disappoin**ent as it was a great area. It would also be great if they could make that spot adults only. We headed off to the beach for a swim, the beach is lovely albeit small and is so, so close to the hotel. The sea was warmer than the pool. The entertainment was ok and it felt like the staff were trying their hardest with what they'd been provided with. The music throughout the day was pleasant except for the one day that the 5 same songs played on repeat and none of the staff seemed to notice for 3 hours. Due to Spanish laws you can't smoke within the hotel grounds, even as a smoker I completely agree with this, however, the designated smoking area is the entrance to the hotel. It stunk and was filthy. Not the best welcome back to the hotel. The staff (particularly the evening bar man and the guy that did the pool bar during the day) were really friendly and a good laugh. They always had a smile for you despite always being on their own. We have stayed 8 nights all inclusive here with 3 girls 17, 11 and 5. We have all really enjoyed it. Lovely size 2 bed apar**ent. Spotlessly clean, including communal areas, pool and dining room. Staff are pleasant whether reception, cleaning, waiter, waitress, bar staff, entertainment staff or chef. Whatever their role they work tirelessly to ensure safe, clean enjoyable stay. Thank you for looking after us so well. Our apar**ent was rooftop height and had a fabulous view of pool and stage, a lovely a**osphere. My five year old loved the mini club and mini disco. She learned new dances very quickly. It helped her confidence. My 11 year old enjoyed pool table, pool, slush and poolside snacks. I enjoyed mini club as it allowed me an hour uninterrupted on lounger! 😂 Food consistently good and varied. Lots of choice, cooked and presented well. Big thank you to all such hardworking staff! 🙏

Pros: - close to the beach - functional air conditioning - room balcony - fish dishes every day Cons: - old and bad managed - ants - poor menu ( same breakfast every day) - poor cleaning - salty running water from the tap If you have £400 extra choose another hotel. I don't know how people give 5 stars, honestly. Pictures will speak more. I would give minus 5 stars review. Fortunately we rented a car to visit the surroundings and did not need to stay there but for dinner and sleep.

I sit writing this review as i wait for my transfer back yo the airport. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here ( 1st was just me and my partner 8 years ago). Again staff veen amazing and friendly. I want to focus on the entertainment team (Animación team) they are so welcoming from the minute we arrived Micheal was getting us involved on the 1st night we did man v women and what a laugh that was. It gets everyone talking together which I love. The team work there socks off practically 24/7 everyday. Pools are lovely there is a nice little pool at the top and a bigger one at the bottom. Food can be hit and miss but they have to accomodate every cusine. Good thing about all inc was the snacks at the pool bar are burgers, fries nuggets etc so great for the kids. Hotel is in Cala Ego which is a lovely resort and it is only a short walk to a beach cove. Would I return again with my family? Yes we would. Thank you for a lovely week La Mirada.
