Hotel Mesra keluarga di Calpe

Just returned from a lovely 7 day holiday at the AR Roco Esmeralda Hotel Calpe. Staff were very kind and helpful, Food was mainly Spanish and very tasty. Lift service was first class and very modern. Ròoms a wee bit dated but spotless 10/10 to housekeeping. Hope to return soon as I am learning the Spanish lingo. Adios for now.

We have been to this hotel approximately 17 times now. It feels like home from home. We had friends who lived in Calpe and this was our go to hotel when visiting them regularly. This year it was for our 35th wedding anniversary.... However this is the first time our loyalty was acknowledged when we were offered a discount on beverage at the hotel and the use of the rooftop pool which looked amazing but our 1st choice is always their main pool, we've never been successful in getting a bed by the pool as we don't choose to go there early, but we are always comfortable on the artificial grass section which is quieter and seems more private. Every time we go something has changed , this time the beds were different with lots of styles available, some with shade or if not you could always use a parasol. These offerings are not on the grass section but would be a great addition in the future, as it is hot down there. If it is busy and you really can't find a bed then the beach is directly infront. This year there was loud music which we'd not had before but it wasn't all the time so didn't bother us . The hotel itself has changes to fixtures , fittings and furniture but just as beautiful as ever. The restaurant was busy as mentioned in other reviews but you are seated it's not a free for all so you are made to feel welcome and the food is amazing, something for everyone and pleasing to see very few people tried to sneak food out !! They have a couple of coffee machines now whereas it used to be served to your table which we preferred as some were walking around drinking coffee after collecting or struggling to carry a small cup full a long way to their tables. Plus the queue to get a drink could take a while. We only go bed and breakfast as there's so many fantastic places to eat in Calpe but we've heard the evening meals are something special too. The rooms again have been updated to a high standard, (not that we'd complain if they'd stayed the same) with beautiful fabrics and decor. Massive beds with quality bedding, probably the best sleep we ever have away from home. coffee machine fridge and English tv , We were given a room on the 7th floor the highest we've stayed and had a balcony with side view, not a great view but a balcony and tbh we spend very little time in the rooms so normally have a interior room no view or balcony. Evening entertainment is now at the pool area where a great deal of work goes into turning the sunbathing area into an array of lovely seating where you can watch a band or singers, 1 night in particular was really good. The staff are a credit to the hotel from the housekeepers to the reception staff, the bar and restaurant staff all exceptional. Calpe has so much to offer both around the hotel and afar. Walk to the old town, take in the sights, catch the small train to the harbour and walk to platja de fossa beach where the sea is so warm, plenty more bars and restaurants too or if you're feeling en

We stayed here for 10 days in September 2024 half board, 7 days of this was a dance holiday. This hotel is definitely not a 4 start, I would rate is as 3 star at best. The main negative is the food, which is very repetitive, with a choice of Pork, Chicken and fish in the evening, although on the odd occasion there was veal or a pasta station. The food was never warm enough, and a few times had not been cooked properly. We heard that a few people had food poisoning. There was however always a good salad selection. The deserts were the same every evening, but on some occasions there was a chocolate fountain. Breakfast were quite good, but again not warm enough unless you went to the omelette station. The hotel was kept very clean as were the large bedrooms. These had plenty of storage space and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is starting to show some signs of age, and in the area outside between the Piano Bar and the pools, there were several cracked or broken tiles. Apparently the hotel is due to be refurbished this winter. The Wi-Fi is reliable and fast in the reception area, the bars and the restaurant, but is patchy and slow in the rest of the hotel and the pools area.

THE HOTEL IS IN AN EXCELLENT LOCATION,A COUPLE OF MINUTES WALK FROM THE BEACH AND TOWN.THERE IS A BUS STOP OUTSIDE(L1 AND L2)AND THEY WILL TAKE YOU TO THE FISH MARKET PLUS RESTAURANTS(ABOUT 30 MIN WALK)TO THE SALT LAGOON,TO A SECOND BEACH PAST THE IFACH ROCK CALLED PLAYA DE FOSSA AND OLD TOWN(THE ROADS FROM THE HOTEL TO THE OLD TOWN ARE QUITE STEEP. WE HAD READ A COUPLE OF NEGATIVE REVIEWS WHICH WE FOUND TO BE UNFOUNDED.THERE WERE NO QUEUES AT BREAKFAST,THERE WERE 7 COFFEE MACHINES AND 3 JUICE MACHINES AND THE FOOD WAS CONSTANTLY BEING REPLENISHED. THE ROOMS WERE LARGE,FRIDGE BUT NO COFFEE MACHINES ALTHOUGH WE HAD OUR OWN.THE STAFF WERE POLITE AND VERY HELPFUL AT RECEPTION PROVIDING FREE MAPS OF THE AREA. THE IFACH ROCK IS AMAZING BUT TO GO INTO THE NATURE RESERVE YOU NEED A PERMIT. THE FORM FOR THIS CAN BE OBTAINED FROM THE TOURIST INFO CENTRE ON BEACH OR IN THE OLD TOWN AND TAKES A COUPLE OF MINS TO COMPLETE ONLINE(HOTEL PROVIDES FREE WIFI.) THERE ARE MANY RESTAURANTS TO EAT IN,WE FOUND THAT THE BEST WERE JUST OFF THE FRONT ALTHOUGH YOU MISS THE VIEW. WE WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK THERE NEXT YEAR AND MAY BUY A SMALL FLAT THERE FOR FUTURE TRIPS.

My stay at Cookbook Hotel in Calpe was amazing! The staff were really friendly and made us feel at home. The food was fantastic. We stayed in a lovely suite with a terrace and a stunning view of the sea. The hotel has a cool vibe, mixing modern style with local charm. Everything was super clean and comfortable. The terrace was our favorite spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Overall, Cookbook Hotel is a great choice if you want top-notch service, delicious food, and a peaceful getaway with views of the sea.
