THB Gran Bahia Hotel and Apartments

Solo travelers do not seem to be welcome :( which is shown openly be the waiters). Rooms are ok but very simple, so max. 3 stars. There is not much more to say. There are definitely nicer hotels in the area……………………………………………………………………………………….

Hotel very clean,but tired in some places,rooms nice,but unfortunately the cleaning wasn't great,i spilt a coffee mark on the side table 2nd day in,just to see how they clean,unfortunately still there on day 7,i could of cleaned it off but i was just testing as the room floor always felt like it had sand on it,shower unfortunately let's all the water out over the floor so can become slippery,now if you are English I really don't think this is the right hotel for you,the breakfast is very hit & miss,this hotel is mostly German & Dutch & I feel quite proud how polite the English can be in comparison,we were the minority & it just wasn't the right hotel for us,breakfast was time consuming,you had to wait for individual eggs to be cooked so the que was very long,only two eggs at a time,or longer if they were making an omelette,even though a great cooking area,the lady was lovely,but the gentleman didn't even lift his head to say good morning,(something us brits do I suppose?) We had half board but ate out every day,the food just didn't cut it for a four star hotel ( our opinion) if you want to sit by the pool (we didn't) be prepared to squeeze in it's tiny & towels are laid from 7.30am,great location,next to lots of restaurants & pubs & beach,unfortunately no entertainment at the hotel,only one night which was a tribute Elton John who we found quite funny, more than a great voice,unfortunately we won't be returning to this part of the island as the rubbish around was quite sad,( not the hotel) litter being left & cigarette buts were awful on the beach. But I must give a mention to Babara as she was the only staff member to say hello every time she saw us,lovely lady & a credit to the hotel.

The best thing about the hotel is its location and the staff! We stayed in an apartment with sea views and it was the best choice. Both the waiters and the receptionists were always attentive to anything you might need. The only negative thing is that the pool area is small, but with the beach in front that is not a problem. Will definitely be back next summer!

Not the worst experience, but would not return. The room was fine and what I expected, however, the balcony overlooked the street and the smell of drains was awful so I couldn’t sit out, even if I wanted to. Reserving beds but the very small pool was not permitted, however, every morning it was impossible to find a bed that didn’t have a towel on it. As the day went on, people (who were not even from the hotel), were able to come in and use the beds that had become free, with the lifeguard actively inviting people from the street. The buffet at breakfast was a poor show and three out of my four mornings I didn’t even bother going down. There was a kettle provided in the room, but only peppermint tea. I asked for regular teabags and wrote a note in Spanish asking for the same, and received nothing. As a four star hotel, I expected a little more for the money I had spent.

the recepcionist Isabel was the best, very good service, really nice view from the rooms, the best option is to buy directly from the hotel website yo get the best prices and best rooms. we will definitely come back next year. beautiful hotel and very kind staff, the rooms were impecable

First of all, the heaters in the room does not work. The outside tempreture was 14-15 degrees. The room was cold. When i asked the reception about heating the room, they refused to solve the problem. The only opinion was gived an extra blanket… this is not accapteble for a 4 stars hotel. Second, the buffet breakfast was very shy, the service was really slow, the food tables where empty most of the time, and long waiting line to the grill, very few staff members. The staff members was rude, the breakfast was to 10:30 but 10 minutes before 10:30 they start closing the courtans, so we can not enjoyed the view of the beach. They tried to hurry us. Never experienced that before. The location was okey, but the hotel don’t have parking space for the guests. The apartaman was good, but we heard everything from the room next to us. Over all, it was a belove avarage experience.
