Having travelled extensively and stayed in numerous hotels worldwide, I can confidently state that my recent experience was the worst ever. Despite seeing several negative reviews about their service, I thought they were just occasional lapses. However, I soon discovered that the hotel had a persistent service problem. I had a problem with my reservation and spent two days trying to resolve it, but no one cared. To make matters worse, I was charged ten times the amount I had originally paid for the same room (i.e., $300 instead of $30) without any reasonable explanation. When I questioned this, the staff merely shrugged it off, citing fluctuating prices as the reason. The lady in charge of reservations was extremely rude and disrespectful throughout the ordeal. In addition to the issues with my reservation and the exorbitant charges, the air conditioner was not working properly and made a lot of noise. Furthermore, the fridge in my room made a huge noise, which disturbed my sleep at 2 am (I recorded a video as proof). Moreover, the noise levels in the dormitory were unacceptable all the night! making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. In short, I urge anyone considering staying at this hotel to think twice and look for other options.

My friend and I stayed for 5 nights in a private room with private bathroom at 91 Loop Hostel. It is not the cheapest room you will find, but comparably priced to other similar hostels. The good: -Really friendly staff that are happy to help you with whatever you may need -AMAZING location - if you want to be able to walk pretty much everywhere, definitely stay here! -Clean, efficient and safe -Self serve coffee and juice in the morning with made to your request eggs and toast or muesli and yogurt (During COVID times) -Comfortable bed with a personal safe and lots of USB plugs for charging anything you may need -Hot shower -Laundry service across the street that was fast and easy The not as good: -Our room was on the 3rd floor but our window opened to the courtyard area and anytime people were spending time there it sounded like they were talking inside our room. The music being played in the lobby area also carried making it pretty hard to fall asleep. Luckily it did usually quiet down for us at some point in the night.

Lovely hotel with unique rooms in an old but restored building. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a deluxe room for 4 nights facing Bree St. The noise from the street and restaurant below could be loud but it didn’t keep us from getting a good nights sleep. If you want modern, this isn’t the place for you. We liked the uneven floors and the high ceilings and vintage furniture. No pool or gym. The breakfast was superb, good variety so even though the menu didn’t change you had multiple options. Most importantly, the hotel is in a safe area. Lots of dining options within a five min walk. Much of the city is not safe so stick to very touristy areas when walking or take Uber otherwise you may wind up having a very unpleasant experience like we did.

Overall a good experience at the hotel. Was greeted promptly by a staff member. Got a good room on the highest floor and the hotel was smelling of Indian spices (what a great way to start off). It was the slow season so two of the three elevators were operating. Did not wait that long. The rooms were small. Would recommend only staying about three nights. Great for people traveling business. Breakfast was good and had good seats. Wasn't crowded and did not need to come at a specific time. Laptop vault worked. The adapters did not. Luckily I got some Euro plugs which actually worked in the bathroom area (no where else). There is a USB port by the bed but those are not that quick. Wifi was good in the room but not that good in the lobby. I slept comfortably and it was quiet. Easy to get Uber. Would stay again (if I am on a short business trip). Tip: Do not exchange money at the lobby UNLESS it is an emergency. Also, know where you go and do not look lost.

Thee availability of the staff that's on the premises to assist you is great... Not that it ever came to that point... Where it was needit to contact them late nite... I am in Cape Town for a conference and unable to stay at the hotel of my choice as they are fully booked. At the stay easy it’s been one disappointment after another since first contact. I was checked into a single room despite booking a double. The bed was so small I literally fell off with a single turn. Trust me the beds are that small. If you are over 5ft7 this is not a place for you. After putting in a complaint the next day I was moved to the double, here the sink was clogged and despite my requests was never fixed. No international Tv news channels were on offer. When prompted the reception said they would sort it out and never did. I received a similar response when I asked for a shower cap. At the Stay Easy you’ll be lucky if your call to the switch board is picked up. I never experienced that. The receptionist when we arrived was brutally honest, yes we know you booked a double but we are putting you into a single call your booking office, this happens all the time. The gym is not worth using, the pool is a pond. All true I must say. One thing one must note is that the pool and gum are not at the StayEasy but the building next door so you’ll need to leg it out of your hotel to the one next door. Finally please don’t use the vending machine I’ve lost money to it. It first work and the hotel does not have a sign to reflect that, though the door man seemed very apologetic when you don’t receive what you’ve paid for…..

Very nice modern and luxurious decor, proactive and welcoming staff. Rooms are quite cosy, would recommended for couples or solo/business travellers.
The bar and restaurant services delicious and decadent food. Location is very central and close to everything, but would receive recommend vehicle access, as there are not many things in walkable distance.
Has a great night life scene, is popular amongst very hip club hoppers and social scene.
