很好奇為啥中國遊客沒有在攜程上點評。住了四晚，給大家分享一下客觀的入住體驗。房間很小，雖然給升級了家庭房，兩個單獨小房間裏各有兩張小床，這樣就把房間空間基本上佔滿了。設施有點老舊，雖然龍頭和五金是漢斯格雅，馬桶也是名牌，但是還是有點老舊了，跟國內同價位的酒店不能比。槽點說完了，說說亮點:早餐很給力，品種豐富，服務到位，餐廳在酒店的另一頭，需要穿過開普敦大學商學院，能看到維多利亞碼頭。位置也特別方便:吃飯，購物，觀光都方便，感覺就是在商業區的邊上，適合走路逛街。

The hotel was out of this world.The staff were friendly and extremely helpful .The hotel’s cleanliness was breathtaking .My room was nice and spacious The hotel bar has an outside are where you can chill and have a cocktail .The hotel also has a restaurant,you don’t have to order in or go out to eat because the food was very good .I cannot wait to be back and experience the pool area

So, let me start by saying this would have been a five star review but for a matter on the second stay. My wife and I booked three separate stays (safaris in between). Let me start with the best part-Mark their contracted tour operator. He took us all over the Cape Town region and to some hidden gems on our first four night stay. The staff was amazing. Friendly and attentive. Breakfast is great-something for everyone. Relaxing courtyard to chill. Rooms very clean. Comfy beds. They even give you some snacks in room at check in. So when we came for the second stay after our foray into Namibia, the air conditioner on the second floor (we did the two floor loft) did not work. I called the front desk and they sent housekeeping. I was told at first it was working (she stood in front of it-and a long story on the nature of the malfunction). Once she moved away from it she agreed that it was not working (bedroom area was 23C/73.4 F when it was set on 17 from check in through dinner). We were told not other lofts were available to switch to. I could have booked a loft for that night on the Marriott app. BUT, the next morning, they quickly sorted it and day staff apologized. That was the only negative. Everything else has been fantastic. When things go right, it is hard to describe. But all in all-excellent hotel and I would return if I make it to Cape Town again-which the tour operator makes one want to. So a little on that. My wife broke a nail. Mark modified everything and took us to a local mall so she could get her nail fixed. We asked if we could stop for snacks-he took us grocery store-so we had a much larger selection. Like I said, I struggled not giving a five star but I felt the a/c issue warranted a reduction-not the malfunction but how it was handled at first.

Great service from the friendly staff - from reception, housekeeping, bar and restaurant. The hotel is a good option if you are looking for accommodation in Sea Point that is not too noisy, as Sea Point is a busy area and some places can be very noisy. It is close to great restaurants and shops in walking distance, and right by the Sea Point beach promenade. Our room was on the 3rd floor and had a great partial sea view. Rooms lower down will not have sea views. There is a lovely pool area and deck at the hotel, as well as a gym and a conference area. I was able to work and have online meetings in privacy in a space in the conference area. Renovations were being done on the 6th floor and parts of the 5th floor, so make sure not to get a room on the 5th floor (we asked to move from a room on the 5th floor).

I had a January 2024 conference at Stellenbosch Business School, and our Association gave a great rate at this hotel (only 1230 ZAR, including all taxes). At the current USD exchange rate, that was only $65. Because I didn't want to spend a lot of time commuting back and forth for those conference days, and because our conference also paid for the shuttle bus between the conference hotels and the conference venue, I decided to book this hotel for two nights. There are only a handful of written/detailed reviews in the past 4 years here on TA, and so I want to add mine here. (A note to Bonvoy members: Do note that you only get one ENC per 2 nights stayed. If in doubt, feel free to google ”Protea and ENC”...) Here are the pros: (1) The price is indeed cheap. (2) The staff is very kind. (3) The breakfast is good enough, with a few different kinds of sausages, a few different kinds of cereal, a few different kinds of bread/pastry, a few different kinds of fruit; and a couple different kinds of juice. (Bonvoy members: Platinum and above gets you free breakfast buffet.) (4) The on-site restaurant's 'a la carte' is OK enough if you're hungry, but I wouldn't have two dinners in a row there. The menu is not extensive, and also my pasta was a bit overcooked. (5) The room does have a small safe. Here are the cons: (1) Half of the hotel's rooms are just 15m from the highway. On a Sunday night, you're gonna hear a lot of road noise. It was the kind of noise that my earplugs couldn't block very well. If you scroll through the pictures here on TA, you'll see some pictures of that traffic. Those pictures are basically taken *from the room's window*. The cars are really that close! So if you are a light sleeper, and you care about sleep, this hotel is basically not for you. (2) Exactly half of the rooms are on the ground floor... meaning that just about any hoodlum could readily break the glass window of your room and enter if they wanted to. If that thought gives you anxiety, then I'd think twice before booking this hotel. (3) In the evening and late night (after ~9pm), I couldn't reach any front desk staff via the room's phone. (4) In the pictures, it looks like the room is carpeted. I don't think most of the room's are carpeted; my room #145 had a wood laminate floor, and it was pretty filthy. I mean, housekeeping doesn't appear to mop the floors very well, if at all. There are no slippers provided, so on Night #2, I put one of the bathroom towels on the floor and waddled/shimmied around on top of the towel to keep my feet clean. (5) I have Titanium Marriott status, and on Tuesday morning, they wouldn't grant me any kind of late check-out. I had to check out by 11am. They told me that there would be a 300 ZAR penalty per hour, if I checked out after that. (6) There's really nothing within walking distance; go ahead and take a look at the neighborhood in Google Maps, there's nothing to do or see if you have no car. (7) There are

I stayed in a one-bedroom apartment for two weeks. It was lovely and had everything you needed for a longer stay. The photos you see online are the same as the room itself. It was nice to have a balcony and let some fresh air in. The people at reception always had smiles on their faces, and so did the security staff at the front of the hotel. It is so nice to be greeted with a lovely hello and big smile from the staff each day. I used the hotel gym nearly every morning. It was small, but it served the purpose I wanted. As the apartment rooms are pretty big, I could also do a workout in my room. The breakfast was nice each day, and the service was amazing. I only drink herbal tea, and most places I go overseas do not have the tea I drink, so I bring my own. Each day, Goge knew I had my tea bag and would come and grab it from me every morning to make me a pot of tea, which was so sweet and lovely. My only suggestion is to have instructions on how to use the washing machine/dryer in each room as they are not all the same. Reception had instructions but I had a different model, so it was not applicable. I couldn’t quite figure out the dryer, so the lovely Dylan came and showed me how to use it to me and my colleague. As I was going to be at a conference all day, he came and removed my clothes from the dryer and folded them so they would not sit in the dyer all day, which was lovely of him. Overall, it was an excellent stay.

Review for Hotel My wife and I, along with our son and now wife stayed for 9 nights at the Protea at Durbanville during our stay in Cape Town. Our son got married not far from the hotel. Our daughter in law is the only South African in the group, and we have never traveled outside of the United States. If we could describe one thing that made our stay at this hotel perfect, it would be the staff. We have never been to a hotel that had such friendly staff that Protea at Durbanville had during our stay. From the front desk workers, restaurant staff, to the housekeeping crews, they were all super accommodating and made us feel so welcome. The staff was also super involved in our stay, cheering us on as the wedding day approached and congratulated us on the day. One staff member that really made a difference for us was Vincent. Vincent really took the time to get to know us and we really appreciated his hospitality. The porter was all extremely friendly and helpful. The entire staff and I wouldn’t want to leave anyone out so will not name names. We highly recommend this hotel.
