Castro Marim Golfe and Country Club

I am a beginner golfer and I enrolled at Peter O’Connor Golf Academy at Castro Marim Golf Club. Peter has been amazing: very professional working hard with me on my golfing skills while being nice and entertaining all the time. The golf course and the facilities are superb with nice cafe and well supplied golf shop. Will consider becoming a member at some point:).

Our family enjoyed our stay in Castro Marim in a wonderful resort. The five of us had some great golf lessons with Peter O'Connor who adapted his teaching to adults and teens. Peter proved to be very professional, patient and positive, which helped the most advanced golfers and the beginners to progress well. We will surely come back to Castro Marim and look forward to playing golf more regularly. Thank you again Peter for your valuable advice and the passion that you share.

We came here with granddaughters to play golf with one and sun bathe with other. Weather glorious and we had a T2 villa which was excellent, clean well equipped. We came without transport but found the short cut to the club house where we ate, 8 mins walk. The meals all very good and not expensive. Loved the cheese and ham toastie. Reception were helpful and got us a taxi to the village and arranged for golf clubs to be looked after. Really good supermarket, prices reasonable. Village a bit run down and closed but saw the castle ruins and church. Taxi back. Nowhere to eat so we were back at Hole in One! All in all we enjoyed the pool, the Villa and the weather. Faro airport not so. Three or four planes landed and only 4 border people to get everyone through. All the facial ID were broken. Stairs and hardly any escalators. People carrying suitcase OMG waiting for an accident.

I cannot address the hotel as we only golfed. But in terms of a golf experience, Paolo was amazing to deal with. He was responsive by email and welcoming at the pro shop. The course was a lot of fun. The front nine is way stronger than the back, which has some blind shots and is tricky in parts - fun overall. But we stayed for many beers after and met a lot of people/members who chatted us up and gave us great advice (we are a Canadian group). We truly loved our day there. Paolo is very well-spoken and will treat you like he owns the place. Thanks to him and all the people at Castro Marim for giving my group an awesome golf experience and a fun day.

Me, my wife and son have been introduced to golf by Peter and we are loving it. His insights and tips are extremally useful and the way the training is led is very friendly for adults and children. We've loved the experience and will take another opportunity to meet Peter next time we are in Castro Marim. I highly recommend Peter as an introduction and enhancement of skills in golf. Thanks Peter for all your kindness and guidance.

Just back from our regular golf trip to Portugal ( Eastern Algarve). We played in Castro Marim Golf ( 3 x 9 hole courses) and must congratulate the team on fantastic greens ( despite the very high temp for May ) and general condition of the course . I made a mistake with the booking but Peter O' Connor sorted it in 5 mins. Put this place on your list *****
