Penginapan Intercontinental Hotel & Resorts di Chengdu

Despite being an “older” hotel so to speak, it was so well maintained, luxurious & clean (even better than some of the newer hotels I stayed in on my recent trip to China ) It’s not near city centre but attached to a nice mall ( Global Century ) with plenty of eateries & a water theme park. There’s also a subway stop attached to it - Jincheng Plaza (Line 1 ) - so it was easy to get to anywhere; plus DiDi is cheap & easy to get. 40 minutes to Tianfu Airport during off peak. Opposite is SKP mall (10 mins easy walk) with its iconic lighted bamboo display with more shops & eateries I was upgraded for free & was grateful we had the block near the reception ( and near the mall entrance) block C. Also I had requested for room near lift & that was met. All in all a great stay & would not hesitate to return.

Honestly a bit surprised by this stay. The hotel looks quite old in photos, but in real life it feels much more grand and comfortable, and the room is actually very spacious. The concierge team really stood out. I had parcels sent before arrival and everything was already in my room, even with scissors prepared for opening them — super thoughtful. During my trip, I also arranged a local courier myself, and the hotel helped store my luggage and smoothly handed everything over when the courier arrived, which made things very easy. Also really appreciated the early check-in at around 6am after a long trip — that made a big difference. What I personally value about international hotel brands like InterContinental is the consistency of service. You’re not just paying for the room, but for a smooth overall experience, which I think makes it worth it. Overall, very comfortable stay and great value. I’d definitely come back.
