There were ants on the bed 🐜. At 11 PM, the toilet kept running after flushing, forcing me to call for service in the middle of the night, which was very inconvenient. The next day, the same thing happened with the toilet. By the time I was ready to call for service after getting ready, it stopped running again, which was extremely frustrating. I had no choice but to check out early.

This hotel boasts an excellent location, right in front of Tha Phae Gate in the heart of old Chiang Mai. It's also incredibly easy to get to from Chiang Mai International Airport – you just take a bus and get off at Tha Phae Gate. While the facilities are quite old, the air conditioning and TV have been recently updated. The room is very spacious, more than enough for a solo traveler. The pool is small but deep enough at 1.2 meters for a good swim. You can even enjoy breakfast on the deck with a view of Tha Phae Gate. Being so close to Tha Phae Gate means you can easily enjoy the Sunday Market and weekend events held in the square. The staff are also very friendly, making this a great hotel for a relaxing stay in Chiang Mai.

2026.5 It's been three hours since check-in, and I've been listening to loud speakers and karaoke for three hours straight. You'll constantly hear pulsating high-energy music. Guests staying for multiple nights are quite unlucky, as they can't rest at the hotel during the day. This noise might even continue into the evening when you're trying to sleep. Even staying as high as the 5th floor, if there's an event at the adjacent Thapae Gate, it'll be noisy (changing rooms or getting a higher floor won't help, you'll still hear the high-energy music). The gym is extremely small, about 2 pings (approx. 72 sq ft) with only a treadmill and dumbbells available. The exercise bike was broken. The 'pool' is just a soaking tub, very shallow and only good for photos. The hotel insists it's a 'pool'... Both the gym and pool are restricted to use before 7 PM, and there are no changing rooms. The hairdryer is an old, press-button type with weak airflow, making you question your life after 25 minutes of trying to dry your hair. Definitely felt like a bad choice! Breakfast options are limited, mostly carbs. Fried rice and plain rice are counted as separate dishes, and pasta + sauce are also counted separately. You have to pay extra for an omelet or scrambled eggs! The only positive was that the taste was acceptable. Luckily, I only stayed one night. The air conditioning in the room leaked directly onto the desk, and there were mosquitoes in the room. The lobby had a massive mosquito problem. The front desk's solution was mosquito repellent (the lobby is not suitable for extended relaxation). The room rate does not justify the performance. I will not be staying here again. There are much better options available elsewhere.

Had a lovely stay at the M Hotel Chiang Mai. Great location close to shops and plenty of great local restaurants with awesome Northern Thai specialties. The breakfast at this hotel was absolutely fantastic. Had authentic Pad Thai and chicken green curry along with western options. Friendly staff that welcomes you like family.

Excellent hotel, close to the airport, with attractions right outside. Very convenient for dining and accommodation. I'll definitely stay here again.

The location is excellent to get to some really nice sights. It is walking distance to lots of restaurants and shopping.

The location is fantastic, right across from Tha Phae Gate, making it super convenient for exploring and dining out. However, the hotel itself feels a bit dated, and the facilities aren't great. The bed was really hard; we had to ask for an extra duvet to soften it up. Breakfast options were limited, mostly just bread. You can swim, but the pool isn't very big. On a positive note, there's a cat at the hotel, and it's super friendly! 🐱

Excellent hotel just inside the City Walls. Rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable. Swimming Pool is fine, if a little small and requires more sunbeds. Likewise the fitness room is tiny with very limited equipment....and as with almost every hotel I've stayed in Thailand, the treadmill hasn't been maintained and 'slips' making it potentially dangerous. Breakfast is really good (9/10), with fruits, cereals, and a Thai/western buffet. A variety of restaurants in the immediate vicinity, including the usual Western franchises (Burger King directly next door). Loi Kroh Rd "entertainment' area about 10 to 15 mins walk (or 30 baht in the red (Songthaew) taxi's. Staff are lovely Overall, 5 days of comfort and 100% I will stay here when next in Chiang Mai. Recommended.
