Having visited Hard Rock in Ibiza, I was disappointed in this hotel as the standard did not live up to expectations. It was my sisters 30th and the hotel did not want to accommodate us as a family party of 10! The service was extremely slow and the staff were rude. The adult only pool had been closed, with no prior warning, due to maintenance and the pool bars were closed. As much as I appreciate that it isn’t fully into the season yet, it has put me of visiting again or recommending to friends!

Because it was our first flight with a child (3 year old) we made the decision to go all inclusive. First of the room is good and spacious but ours had some major flaws. Because we wanted a apartment with an extra room our choice was the family room. This because some extra time when our child got to bed. The designer probably thought is a was a great idea to make a glasspanel between the bathroom and the extra bedroom. Which means when you turn the light on the whole extra room got lit waking up our child. Also the beds are hard and made for overweight people and the pillow is non existing. We had a major balcony which was nice but if you have a family room you only get 2 chairs.. like why? Also the location of our room was just bad. Right above the laundry / towel room where also the toilets are. Because our view was of the podium / terras we had loud music till 23:00 and after that rowdy and loud english people. I mean its fun when you want a party in RIU but not peacefull if you want some rest and i can say i am even more tired then before the holiday! (Thats not a good thing) And then we have have the standard stuff in a all inclusive, reservation with towels on most bed while the life guard / employees do nothing about it. The children swimming pool was also pretty bad because most children got out with bleeding feet (no maintenance) The reason we give this hotel one star is because of the friendly employees. Other then that I would avoid this hotel!

This is an absolutely outstanding hotel with impeccable staff. If you are looking for peace, tranquility and stunning surroundings then this is the perfect hotel for you. Our room was the royal river room I believe it's the basic room, but when we walked in we felt like we'd arrived at a Maldivian island (we've visited there twice). The room was very large with a separate sitting room, double closing doors to the bedroom and then a double sink bathroom with a beautiful bath and rainfall shower. Outside there was a smallish pool similar to what you'd get in an over water villa in the Maldives, a gorgeous double bed, egg chair and corner sofa which we used in the evening for drinks. From our pool you could swim out to the river and take some amazing photos of the tree canopy covered river. They offer theme food nights we did the Asian and French nights both of which were incredible. But it is only a 5 min taxi ride to caleta where there are many other restaurants too. My husband had a small issue with hotel laundry with an expensive shirt however duty manager Daniella was incredibly professional, concerned and helpful she recompensed us for the cost of the shirt. And aside that in all our dealings with her she is clearly a real asset to this hotel. The only very slight comment is about the bathroom soap/shampoo dispensers they seem a bit cheap which was a complete surprise given that EVERY fitting in this hotel is clearly very expensive. It wasn't a problem just an observation. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay and we will most certainly be back.

We’ve just returned from seven days of heaven, what an amazing holiday we all had. My husband and I took our adult kids with us, aged 22, 19 and 18. Each one of us said it was the nicest hotel, most accommodating staff and fantastic food that we’ve had in an all inclusive hotel. When we checked in we were given a glass of champagne to welcome us, taken to our rooms, showed how all the gadgets in the room worked and felt very welcomed! We did all three al a carte restaurants and each one was fantastic, you really did feel that you were in a proper restaurant. But the food in the Central Market was lovely too! We were in a swim up room, which is sunny all morning but then goes into the shade. But it was welcomed as the sun can be deceivingly intense. Comfiest sun beds ever! Finally thank you to all the staff. They were all so friendly, professional and as I say just smile! Best smiles and teeth ever! Best holiday I’ve had in a long time - thank you to everyone there.

My Mum and I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton for 4 nights as part of her birthday celebration and it was perfect! The rooms are so comfortable and the bedding is sublime! The team who work there are so fantastic - nothing is too much trouble and ever so helpful. There are beautiful towels by the pool which don’t slip down and you get two as standard so not everything is wet when you get out! There is even suncream at the pool so you don’t have to bring your own! Wifi is brilliant throughout the hotel. Cocktails are beautiful, about 17-18 euros each but worth every penny! Absolutely delicious. My only criticism was the lack of food choices in the hotel by the pool - not a huge amount to choose from, very fish based (I don’t eat fish) and the service was a little slow for drinks but that could be the time of year. But there was fabulous popcorn cones and fruit kebabs which were shared in the morning which was great. When planning you’re trip, just be aware that there is nothing around without a taxi from this hotel - there’s some lovely local places nearby but you will need to get in a taxi. The beach area is incredibly well set up - the little train takes you there, there’s a full bar and restaurant, toilets, suncream and sun loungers. Overall it was a brilliant stay and would recommend the hotel for sure - would be even better once the refurbishments are done and there are a few more pools and the restaurant with a view is open again! I stayed almost 3 weeks at Pensión Alcalá. I liked the cleanliness and tranquility of the rooms. There is a small fridge which is very handy. It's very clean and very quiet, the beds are comfortable. The ocean is only a few hundred meters away and in 10 min. by foot you arrive at the very pretty beaches of La Jaquita and the natural swimming pools. There are bars and restaurants close by as well as a shopping street and two supermarkets within a few minutes walk. Parking is very easy, there are plenty of free parking spaces.

We came last year also and we have just come back from this hotel again. We came with flasks so could take cocktails back to room I came with fairy and a brush so could wash up glasses A few other things that I learnt from the first trip. So the differences that stood out … check in this time they HAD to see our email confirmation of booking. It took a long time too. We tried to get a pool view room and therefore sunset from front. We were the other side and unfortunately overlooking the kids pirates pool. Kept saying I’ll look to find another. No no can’t find one, maybe tomorrow. Obviously didn’t want to. One day when we went on the balcony the smell of wee was so strong it made us go back inside. That kinda puts you off. The new splash part at the back with slide is a brilliant addition though. This pirates pool was also closed for a day and bit after a poo was found floating. So that’s unfortunate obviously but they cleaned it so thoroughly as we watched. I was very impressed with this and they opened it the next day after refilling it. My son got an awful rash from the pools as very strong chemicals in kids and family pools. We also did the salt. Our swimwear all were ruined by the end of holiday. All the colour bleached out and we met so many others with very expensive swimwear on saying the same. Red level had taken over more spaces which was annoying and even some of the nice restaurant Agarve which was a shame. So it really felt if you weren’t Red level then you get the scraps. All inclusive isn’t all inclusive at all. We knew it but hoped that might have got better. Rooms are spacious as we had a 1 bedroom suite and a single bed for our toddler. This works for us as can enjoy some evening while he sleeps. The rooms are looking a little banged around now but we’re always cleaned very well and turned down with chocolates. The cleaners and people doing the rooms were fantastic. Queuing for the restaurant with a hungry toddler was annoying but was worse the later it was. More ice cream flavours available this year. Last year there was 2 flavours. This year about 12 Staff very hard working and some were so friendly and happy. We like this hotel as we know it and can make it work for us. But you see so many people pushing buggies around getting little ones to sleep it’s funny. Weather was 25-27 but a good half of the week was very overcast. We had 3 full sunny days. We had a lovely stay and it could be better but when you know all then you can find ways around a lot. The staff make it and it is beautiful. So much bigger than it looks which is great when trying to get a little one to sleep.
