The location of the hotel is excellent. It is situated between the railway station, the bus station, River Pielisjoki and Park Sirkkalan Puisto. The riverside park is a nice picnic area with tables and benches. There are even fishing possibilities there but notice restriction areas. However, walking distance to the city center and all main attractions is very short. It is also possible to rent Jopo bikes from the hotel. Also electric city scooters are often available in front of the hotel. Our standard room was very nice. We had good beds, an armchair, a big flat-screen television, a self-adjustable air-conditioning system, a ventilation window with an insect net and an empty refrigerator (no minibar). However, the refrigerator was quite loud. Our bathroom was OK but the shower wall was too short. Water came under it and watered the whole bathroom while showering. Breakfast was good. I especially loved local specialties, that is to say Karelian rice pastries and banana-chocolate cake by a local bakery. The breakfast room was so big that there wasn't any congestion there. Park view was very nice. The dinner restaurant of the hotel is good, too. It is also possible to take a drink on the large summer terrace. We didn't test the pampering spa department because there is an admission fee there. Service was very kind in the whole hotel.

The location is very good in the city center, just next to market. Walking distance from railway station is less than 10 minutes. The service at the hotel was quite friendly, but I was so disappointed they did not informed me beforehand about legionella bacterial in the water. They said it is not advisable to have a shower at all and that was a big minus after travelling about 4,5 hours and arriving quite late in the hotel. The room itself was clean and ok basic level, I would say 3 stars. The room was quiet. The breakfast was also basic, nothing suprising there but good.

A really lovely and sympathetic hotel full of personal details that were well thought out to support the Karelian theme. It was wonderful to notice that, for example, at breakfast quality and not quantity came first. The room was really nice. Especially the bed and blankets were good. And it was good that you can get the room completely dark if you want. The rocking chair in the room was lovely! I would have spent more time in the room if I have had more time. The landscape painting on the wall of the room was wonderful. A big plus for the locking system and the fact that there was no traditional key card. The staff was nice in all situations and made us feel really welcome. The accommodation would have included one free sauna session, which unfortunately we didn't have time to take advantage of this time, but it's great that such an opportunity exists. The room had everything you needed, from bread knives to a washing machine. This hotel is particularly good choice for families with children. Toys, games and books could also be borrowed from the lobby for the room. Great location right next to the city center. We will definitely come again!

Well equipped and high-quality log cottage on the shore of lake Välivesi in Eno. Low, child-friendly sand beach, the beach opens to the south.
Lake Välivesi 25 m (132,3 ha), own shore, shallow sand bottom and own boat. Log cottage 2017, living room, kitchen, bedroom with double bed width 140 cm, bed room with two beds, sleeping gallery with two beds, dressing room, washroom, terrace.
36 km northeast of Joensuu, 5,5 km to the centrum of Eno. The distance to Koli is 50 km. There is 80 metres to the beachsauna which clients can rent from the owner during the summertime.
The closest neighbour is in 1 km distance.
There is a hut in 1 km distance and there is possibility to use it throughout the year according to agreement.
There is pike perch, pikes, burbots and perchs in the Välivesi lake.
The owner can borrow nets and rubber boat. There are 2 bicycles available for clients.
Reservations start at 16.00 and end at 12.00 (also in weekend bookings).
During 27.12.-12.1. final cleaning cost will be added for the price.

Joensuu was not our destination but a place to stop for the night on our self drive route. We had been paying an average of $200 USD a night at Finland hotels. What a pleasure to come across Greenstar hotel! About $100 with a nice room and free parking. Front desk staff was very nice and she recommended a great restaurant walking distance from the hotel. There was construction going on in the street so we asked for a quiet room in the back which was in reality very quiet. Highly recommend.

Log cottage 2006, living room/ kitchen, bedroom double bed, upstairs bedroom 3 beds and sofa bed in the lobby, utilities room/ dressing room, washroom, sauna, open porch. Barbecue shelter with gas grill (wood fired grill not in use).
Only 1 pet is allowed. Please add pet fee to Your booking in case You've got a pet with You. Nice cottage on shore of large waterway, shore is child-friendly. Owner's farm located 150 m away. Farm has cats. The owner rents kayaks, bicycle, kicksled, snowshoes and badminton rackets.
