Hotel terbaik di Merignac

We came to M & Spa only because that is where the Blue Valet service left our car when our flight was delayed past their 11 pm closing time. We took a taxi, got our key from the concierge, found our car, loaded it up, and headed off to the hotel where we had made a non-refundable reservation. Barely out the gate, I hit something and got a flat tire. I can't change it myself, so we decided rather than try to get assistance at 2 am we would just forget about the 120 Euros for the hotel and get a room at the M & Spa. We were fortunate there was one, and within our budget. Moreover, the concierge made a call to the night clerk at our other hotel, told our story, and in the end got us a refund. The room for 162 Euros with tax was big and bright, with a comfortable bed, desk, couch, kitchenette and full bath (with tub). We could not have found a better port in a storm.

Un bel hôtel , propre , calme , le personnel est très gentil , la piscine est un plus appréciable, le petit déjeuner est top , un peu dommage que pour le moment il n'y ait pas de restaurant pendant le week-end.

We had booked this hotel for 7 days. There is a tramline into Bordeaux that goes from outside the hotel and takes about 30 minutes. We bought a 7 day ticket and used it every day so excellent value but the trams are very busy sometimes so we had to stand on some trips. If you're staying here and don't want to use the tram then you'll definitely need a car as it's basically on the side of the motorway. Staff were very friendly and helpful when we checked in. Rooms are big and clean. Nice and quiet. Loads of parking. Breakfast was okay. The pool is very small (not really big enough to swim in it) and not heated so we didn't use it. Overall a nice hotel, but probably more suited for business use or stop overs due to location.

Elegimos este hotel por estar a 700 mes del aeropuerto ( se puede ir andando perfectamente), y porque enfrente de él está la penúltima / segunda parada de la línea A del tranvía desde / al el aeropuerto al centro histófico. Además su acceso en coche desde España-Hendaya es sencillo, sin semáforos. Hemos estado en dos ocasiones, una noche previa a un vuelo, y que nos permitió ir al maravilloso centro histórico de Burdeos, cenar y volver tarde y seguro con el tranvía. En ambas ocasiones reservé previamente el parking por los días que estaba fuera, por mi viaje en avión. El precio de 7 €/día en 2024 es muy atractivo. El hotel de 3*** tiene remodeladas las habitaciones recientemente, y están bien SALVO QUE NO TIENEN NEVERA, lo cual en 2024 es un aspecto muy negativo que me impide dar mayor valoracion. En pleno verano es muy necesario tener bebida fría como el agua. El personal amable y eficaz. Tanto ”in situ” como por email. En definitiva, una buena elección si uno vuela desde Burdeos y aprovecha para hacer una breve visita a esa maravillosa ciudad histórica.

Yes this is a basic hotel which gives you what you need in a room but I would like to say how fantastic the staff were on our short visit. Every need was met and they went above and beyond. From opening up an adjoining room so we had enough room to iron a bridesmaid dress to tumble drying our wet swimming gear, holding a baby bath whilst we attended a wedding in cognac and holding our luggage whilst we had a day out in Bordeaux…all done with a smile. They absolutely made our trip travelling with a baby so much less stressful. Also going in the middle of august the rooms are so cool and comfortable. It’s around the corner from lovely places to eat and the tram stop is two minutes away for easy access to airport and Bordeaux. It’s no frills but would definitely stay again - thank you Kyriad!

Ahhhhhhh mes 2 jours de cauchemars à Merignac !!!! Check-in manquant de professionnalisme et de qualité d'accueil ( on est en 4*, pas en auberge de jeunesse ! ) , + paiement d'avance ( ma CB est pourtant en garantie ) avec sur-facturation deux fois du pdej, pourtant déjà indiqué dans le tarif de réservation, + avec un argument fallacieux d’écologie, on me demande si le ménage doit être fait entre les recouches !!? ,( à quand le chauffage en option ? ), pas de surclassement de chambre alors que l’hôtel n'est pas complet ( carte platinium ) , + toute la partie bar et restaurant n'est plus relié à l’hôtel mais à l'enseigne de restauration complétement indépendante ( faut ajouter une locomotive Hippoptamus pour remonter l’hôtel ? ) ce qui veut dire que le moindre café ou plat est à payer de suite sans pouvoir mettre sur la chambre. Le ”welcome drink” est limité à une liste très courte de boissons, donc très loin du mot ”welcome” que tous les autres Novotel pratiquent . Deco du lobby et des communs refait au bénéfice de l'hyppo et pour attirer l’œil du passant , mais les chambres ne sont pas rénovées depuis presque la création de l’hôtel ( on vient à l’hôtel pour apprécier et se reposer dans la chambre... c'est le principe d'une prestation hôtelière de qualité ) , on retrouve le gros crépis partout sur les murs et au plafond et un étai qui tient la tv ! De nombreux concept de chambres ont pourtant été développées depuis par Novotel , là vous vous retrouvez ”back to the past” ...même pas vintage. Des problèmes de climatisation signalés sans suite à un personnel peu impliqué qui se réfugie toujours derrière ”la direction” . Au pdej c'est pas mieux , buffet moyen , deux bassines récupèrent les fuites d'eaux ( ça peut arriver ) mais la personne responsable de la salle (désagréable) est plus préoccupée de passer ses appels personnels, que de nettoyer les tables laissées vacantes, ou de se souvenir du numéro de chambre pour la facturation. Enfin au check out le ”bonjour” et un sourire chaleureux semble être en option. Tout cela a été signalé sur place sans avoir d’impact particulier, le collaborateur se réfugie toujours derrière la direction. Celle ci semble plus préoccupée par son compte d'exploitation, et fait complétement fausse route en oubliant la signification du mot ”client” ? Je suis fidèle de l'enseigne partout dans le monde et j’étais fidèle de Merignac , je les avais quitté il y 5 ans à cause de promesses non tenues ( la fameuse réponse où ils mettent tout en œuvre patati patata ....et que je verrai la différence à mon prochain passage ... ) , 5 ans après , j'ai voulu réessayer mais rien a changé, si ce n'est en pire . A au fait, c'est le prix Novotel évidement ! C'est une honte pour l'enseigne et je crois bien le pire Novotel que j'ai du faire. Il y a 2 autres Novotel à Bdx et bien meilleur , le Lac lui par ex est digne de l'enseigne Y retournerais je ? Non... bien sur , plus jamais à Mérignac !

The hotel itself is ok. The reception staff were helpful and friendly. The room was ok. Clean but scruffy and indeed of deep cleaning and upgrading. The beds were clean and comfortable. The curtains were scruffy with holes. The price was way too high for standard of accommodation. The dining experience was DREADFUL. The chef was continually scratching his scalp, beard, neck, face and nose all whilst cooking and serving out and others food. He did not wash his hands once. Food hygiene was non existent. When we talked to the “senior” waiter, who thought our issue was very amusing, nothing changed. Luckily this chef did not serve breakfast on the next morning. But we saw him arrive for work, still scratching himself. Unacceptable. I definitely would NOT recommend this hotel if you want to eat there.

The Campanile was perfectly adequate for a one-night stay before flying out the next morning. The room was clean (except for some spots on the carpet) and bed was pretty comfortable. The front desk staff seemed to speak multiple languages. The buffet breakfast was really good and well worth the money. My only complaint would be the room temperature setting. The thermostat in my room was set to 15°C. After a lot of fiddling around I found that I could override it with the temperature of my choice for up to two hours at a time. That's not really helpful for over night. Having said that, I didn't ask the front desk for thermostat instructions so maybe there is some other way. The hotel is very convenient to the airport; it was a couple of bus stops when I stayed but I think the Tram A extension is now open so it would be a couple of tram stops. The stop is maybe 100 m from the hotel.
