Hotel terbaik di Vetraz-Monthoux

Chambre suffisante pour une nuit. L’hôtel propose un service physique 24/24 ce qui est de plus en plus rare et donc très appréciable. Hôtesse d’accueil souriante et aux petits soins. Parfait pour nous.

La persona que nos recibió se sintió molesta al principio por llegar fuera del horario debido a una serie de inconvenientes, aún así luego fue muy simpática, por lo que la experiencia en este alojamiento ha sido muy positiva !

Not a bad little hotel. The hotel itself is not all that interesting, but at least the room was clean. The man on the front desk was helpful. Not sure if they speak English or not since I only spoke French with them. Close by you have a number of restaurants. And you can walk to everything within minutes. There is a cafe/bar to the left, Les Salles Gossses that gets fairly acrive on a weekend. To the right there is a burger place 99 Street Burgers open late, and during the daytime, walk down the street to the right and there is a big square, Place de l'Hotel de Ville with an old-time carousel, and several restaurants. As a stopover on the way to/from Geneva, it's a reasonable option. One negative point though it is minor: this hotel does inexplicably take a 100 euro deposit pre-authorised on credit card. This is a bit ridiculous as there is nothing in the room is worth 100 euros.

Personnel gentil et serviable. Appartement propre et spacieux. Malheureusement le notre donnait sur la rue, impossible de dormir fenêtres ouvertes car extrêmement bruyant et en période de canicule impossible de dormir fenêtres fermées car non climatisé. Autre point noir, le stationnement payant partout dans la ville.

It is a pretty average hotel. Our experience was not the best at all. One of the good things was that it was overall pretty clean so no issues there at all. On the first day we checked in and noticed that the rainfall shower in the room wasn’t attached to anything and that it was only a standard shower head with no wall attachment. Obviously you can not use that to wash yourself. We went to reception who came and saw the problem. One receptionist seemed to understand that it was unacceptable but another did not. They continued to tell us that they were aware that the shower was broken and we should use our hand to wash and one to hold the shower as water came out of the shower head so therefore it was ‘working’. We asked to move rooms or to have it fixed as we could not use that and it wasn’t what we paid for. They said that they couldn’t move us as they were fully booked and that they would have to clean the room that we had used (not our issue as that room shouldn’t have been given to anyone in the first place). Later on in the evening we came back to our hotel room open and unlocked. After entering the room a few minutes later a plumber came into the room. We went to reception asking why we hadn’t been made aware that we couldn’t go into our room (a phone call would have been appropriate) and why out door had been left unattended. They couldn’t give a straight answer. After the shower had been fixed it was merely warm. The next morning we told another receptionist about our issues and that the shower wasn’t warm and asked for some compensation for all of the problems and we were still in the same room. She said because it was ‘fixed’ in the same day that nothing would be given, despite how we were treated and spoken to by the staff. I asked to write a formal complaint and she said that it would go to her and nothing would be done which is disgusting. After hearing nothing for a while, on our last evening we got stopped at reception and the mood had completely changed (after we had contacted hotels.com) and they decided to change our room and offer free breakfast, which we were grateful for as we could now stay in the shower for longer than 2 mins without goosebumps. In my opinion, this was too little too late and didn’t make up for how we had been treated, I’m not too sure if it was due to us being young and they thought that they could get away with how they were treating us but it was horrible and quite upsetting. I wouldn’t recommend at all. It made our experience visiting Geneva really unpleasant. They just care about making money and not about your holiday and how they make you feel, even though you’re paying good money for a service from them.

The hotel is located approximately a 30 minute unattractive walk from Annemass train station. From the outside the architectural style is dated but benefits from a picturesque setting beside the river. I did not feel this was 4 star luxury, instead it feels like they have gone for a modern, eclectic design. For my personal tastes this gave off more an upscale hostel vibe appealing to a more youthful clientele. There is no reception counter, instead a floating desk which is only attended when there is a customer. The security guard resting his eyes on the seating area behind was a worry on two fronts- why and why. The staff were pleasant and efficient ensuring to tell me they no longer offered bottled water in rooms but that fountain water was available in reception. A good environmental approach apart from the 1 use cups provided. The room was well appointed and of good standard. It was large with plenty of walking space. There was good cupboard space and came with the usual amenities you would expect such as tea/coffee, fridge, large screen TV etc. The bed was very large and comfy and there was a small seating area with table to work on. The bathroom was beautiful with large walk in shower. There was ample lighting in the room which was easily accessible, and usb charging ports by the bed. The open WiFi was great. The TV could have benefited from more English channels. The room is a 5/5. I didn't enjoy being on the ground floor as I looked out onto the carpark and therefore had to keep the curtains drawn. As an Accor member I got my welcome drink from the bar/restaurant which looked nice and seemed to have a good offering of food. Good as the closest restaurants are a 15 min walk. I also took advantage of a late check out however the cleaning lady still knocked on my door on three occasions during the morning asking when I was going to leave. Overall this is a pleasant hotel and good value for money. However due to the location I would not choose to stay here again.

The hotel has some good aspects and some less good aspects. First of all the good: The place is pretty clean and if you are travelling through, it's a bed for the night. Breakfast is a reasonable 7.50. Not really a 'fabulous' contiental breakfast, but an OK breakfast with croissants, demi-baguettes, butter, jam, yogurts, orange juice, and of course tea and coffee. And you can have as much as you want, which is obviously a good point if you are hungry in the morning. Check-out time here is etiher 11:30 am or noon, which is great if you arrive late and need to catch up on your sleep in the morning. You can also arrive as early as 1:30 pm, which is also very good. In that case you have to use the self-check-in machine and pay by credit card for your room. So kudos to Kyriad for making better than average check-in / check-out times. The less good: I have come to undetstand that this is a feature of Kyriad hotels, but the rooms are just too small in my view. There is just barely enough room to walk around the bed. And yes I know it's a budget hotel, but look at something like Travelodge, the lowest price chain in the UK. At least there you normally get a reasonably sized room. Of course this is not the individual hotel's fault. The location is possibly good for someone coming in by car, but if you are on foot like I was, then it is about 25 mins by foot. On the way back I discovered a bit of a short cut by taking the small unofficial path next to the overpass (to the right), which will lead you quickly to the big roundabout and to the road which you can follow back into town eventually turning right onto rue du saleve. If you're a budget traveler and looking for an overnight stop, and also taking the above into consideration, then the Kyriad definitely has it's good points. If you're in town to actually visit Annemasse then you might be happier in one of the hotels nearer to the centre.

The hotel is conveniently located opposite the Annemasse trainstation. It is only a few minutes walk to the new shopping district which is filled with many different restaurants, bars and shopping outlets. By train it is only 22 minutes to Geneva or alternatively you can take the tram. From Geneva train station there are frequent trains to the airport only 6 minutes away. The hotel is modern and newly built within the past three years. They have gone for an industrialised chic look with polished concrete and exposed infrastructures. There is a lovely bar area which extends into the restaurant where breakfast is also served. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and check in was fast and efficient. I had booked a standard room and was pleasantly surprised by the modern decor, modern furniture and plush fixtures. The bed was very comfortable and naturally took up much of the room. There was a desk with chair, open wardrobe area to hang clothes and open shevling. It was appointed with tea/coffee facilities and a mini fridge. There was a large TV opposite the bed and ample lighting of different varieties. The bathroom was modern with large walk-in shower and a separate WC. The room was quite cramped and if space is important it may be worth upgrading to a larger room. The WiFi was good with speeds up to 40mbs however it did keep dropping and the signal was not strong with only 1-2 bars. There is a very nice rooftop Terrance with bar which is a lovely place to watch the sunset and have a social drink. I did not avail of the breakfast given the amount of bakeries in the local area. Overall this is a very nice modern hotel and well appointed. It's a great alternative to Geneva hotels and you get a lot more value for money.
