Hotel terbaik di San Martino in Campo

A very attractive hotel, verdant gardens and the warmest of welcomes from fabulous reception staff. We stayed in a junior suite which was stunning: spotlessly clean, quiet, top floor, massive bed and excellent bedding, air conditioning, tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary soft drinks. Swimming pool was large, clean and cold! No cushions on the chaise longues and rarely saw staff outside. First day was delightfully quiet in the garden with plentiful bird singing however the next day the birds were drowned out by the sound of building works next door, with constantly beeping reversing vehicles which on our second day started at 0700. The next day it started at 0730 which was an improvement and meant we could have a lie in without being woken up. Apparently the work is for the hotel’s event side of things (as well as roadworks) and there were various events being held at the hotel but nothing intrusive because the grounds are so big and most people attending the events didn’t venture into the main hotel and swimming pool area. The restaurant was fine - a little too much veal for my liking and the mixed vegetables with the main courses consisted of potatoes so not enough green veg for us. The restaurant staff were pleasant and efficient, especially the Russian waitress. The restaurant manager was a little abrupt but worked hard. The spa treatment was excellent and again, delightful staff. Surrounding area was a typical working small town with a small supermarket, couple of pleasant bars, church, school etc. Train service is excellent and cheap but you’ll need a taxi to get to the nearest train station and taxis are quite expensive. Best bet is probably to hire a car.

Abbiamo soggiornato con la famiglia in un appartamento e in una camera doppia entrambe molto pulite, accoglienti e ben arredate. La struttura è curata nei minimi dettagli anche per quanto riguarda gli spazi esterni, giardino e zona piscina. Abbiamo pranzato e cenato anche al ristorante Il chicco di grano adiacente alla struttura, ottimo cibo, abbondante e personale gentile. Le case coloniche sono l'ideale per chi, come noi, l'ha utilizzato come punto base per visitare le bellezze dell' Umbria a meno di un'ora si raggiunge Assisi, Gubbio, Orvieto, Perugia le cascate delle marmore, le grotte di Frasassi ed il tempio di Valadier, Civita di Bagnoregio.... insomma il top!

This review is actually difficult to write. The property itself is located at a beautiful location. With that being said, the staff are not genuine and do not enforce ”rules” consistently nor with any rhyme or reason. For instance we went down to the spa area to get a tour of what we could experience. We were not wearing the issued spa shoes, so we were not given a tour. Not even offered to use some spa shoes due to ours being in our room. Yet when we were in the spa for a pool visit, we saw no less than 3 couples being shown around wearing regular street shoes. Also people are not supposed to be talking on their phones or listening to audible music. At least two guests were when we were at the pool. Overall the spa is severely overpriced and overly hyped. Quite frankly it's not impressive. Along the lines of rules, men are are supposed to wear pants in the restaurant at dinner, yet I saw men wearing shorts. Also once again people were chatting on their phones. The breakfast was good, but dinner was a huge disappointment. We ate dinner twice. The food was indeed presented well. But the taste was lacking. During a four course dinner, my appetizer of fried cod was essentially room temperature as if it was cooked 10-15 min earlier. It was not of good quality taste either. The rest of my ”hot” food for the 1st and 2nd courses were also NOT hot. My ravioli were warm at best. For my 2nd course only part of my pork dish was actually hot. And staff NEVER checked to see if the food was prepared properly or to your liking. My wife's one course was barely touched, not a single question was asked. Also we weren't even offered a wine list! we were shocked!!!!!!!!! The portion sizes are extremely small and over priced. One morning there was NO hot water. Called the front desk, they had someone to find what the problem was. Once it was fixed about 90 minutes later, they never called us to let us know. For the price we paid for the room ,they could've at least called us to let us know we had hot water again. They charge a flat fee of 30 Euros to charge an electric car each time. Our rental car was a plug in hybrid that had a small battery which could charge rather quickly. There was a language barrier. I was under the impression the fee to use the charger would be only 30 euros for our entire stay due to the battery not being for a fully electric car. That is not the case. Even for a fully electric vehicle, paying 30 euros is way too pricey. Depending where your room is located you have a long walk up or down ad very long walkway that is NOT level. IT's actually on a fairly steep incline/decline. Upon checkout they sent the person to help load bags to the wrong part of the hotel two times. I will discuss the staff last. The staff here pretends to act friendly. They seem very uptight and not at all genuine. Our entire stay here we did not feel like we could relax. Ho alloggiato con la mia compagna, un po' lavoro e un po' vacanza, possiamo solo elogiare così tanta serenità professionalità e cortesia, non riusciamo a trovare un difetto, anche il ristorante è straordinario, tutto impareggiabile! Torneremo con piacere
