Muy buen hotel, la habitación amplia y limpia. El servicio fue muy amable y las instalaciones son muy acogedoras. Lo mejor, poder disponer del onsen privado ya que Japón es muy restrictivo con los tatuajes.
Staff is extremely friendly, hotel is the mix of modern and old fashion style. Kitchen and common room are modern and clean, bath is authentic. Room is spacious and comfortable. Only thing is the location, it’s up on a hill and around 10 mins walk. So if you’re driving, recommended. If you’re taking public transport and a good walker, recommended. If not, still recommended. 10/10
Nice little japanese style hotel woth great services. The hotspring in house are great for couples and families with privacy. The foods they served are quite good too.

PPengguna TetamuThis was my first and only stay at a ryokan so I don’t have much to compare it to. I chose this lodging because of the cats and good reviews on the food. The cats were really sweet and I enjoyed playing with them. I have 2 cats of my own so it was really nice. The food was so beautiful and delicious - the mushroom soup at dinner was amazing. I really enjoyed it. The private bath rooms were very convenient and open 24 hrs. I thought the facilities were clean and very pleasant. The location was very close to the central area and a quick walk to all the important sites including the bus station. The only comment I have was in the morning someone was smoking and the smell got ****** into the 2nd floor hallway so maybe more care should be taken to be sure the smoke stays outside. The host was so nice and sweet and I used google translate to ask questions. The matcha madeleines are so tasty I bought a box to take with me.
GgwenReally spacious room & in room onsen was the best. Location was 5 mins away from the main walking street & anyone staying there MUST try a yakitori restaurant just beside the hotel. A gem in a hole.
PPengguna TetamuI am very grateful that there is hotspring serving directly in my room. In addition to that, there are 4 more private hotspring rooms which can be freely used 24h whenever they are not occupied. My room is a lot bigger than what I expected. The meals are good and the staff are friendly. There are lots of free servings such as draft beer during different time of the day. There is scheduled shuttle bus going between the hotel and the central area.
SSRL13064Excellent service. I will give 10 out of 5 if I could.
There was a staff who rushed out to us and asked if we were going to stay at the Ryokan. Very helpful for lost travelers overwhelmed by the cold weather. Greeted us warmly when we arrived. Explained the important information to us as best as they could in English, which is perfectly fine.
Room was big. Decorated meticulously in the traditional Japanese style. Yukata and Obi provided added on to the immersive experience.
Dinner was exquisite. Dishes gave us a taste of what traditional Japanese cuisine was like. The food was sincere (didn’t feel like frozen / canned / ready made food), served and plated meticulously.
There were 2 onsens, indoor and outdoor. They were clean and spacious enough. Water (I believe) is from the hot spring nearby and was immensely therapeutic.
Ryokan was near the heart of the town and everything was within walking distance.
Kindly shuttled us to the bus terminal when we checked out (we didn’t have to wait for fixed timings) and carried our (heavy) luggage.
All in all, we enjoyed the one night stay very much and they set a high bar for Japanese hospitality.
YYuChengThe location is perfect, the instruments and rooms are outdated, and the important *not traditional Japanses style and not western style*
The people barely speak English is fine, we'll respect that. But the expense is too high for everything. 1 room 529 usd per night.
I must say the attitude of people are good as normal Japanese people.
PPengguna TetamuOverall staying in this hotel was pleasant, and it was of great value considering the package had already included dinner and breakfast buffet.
Regarding location, it was a bit far from the bus terminal by walking. It took us about 15 minutes, as the route by Google was not quite correct. The main entrance of the hotel was up on a slope, which was not as easy as we were carrying luggage.
Remember to ask the front desk for the password of the back gate. It was a short cut route leading to the main shopping street and the Kusatsu Yubatake.
The room was pleasant and clean, a bit too basic. There was only a socket near the tv wall, not close to the bed, which was a bit inconvenient.
There was wide range of food in the buffet, with some interesting local dishes. Food was delicious. The hotel also offer free late night snack noodle, which worth trying too.
PPengguna TetamuThe staff is very earnest and helped with the luggage and all. They just recently renovated their room with brand new air con unit and new smart lighting with remote and while the exterior may not look dashing, it is very clean and comfortable inside the room. The shared bathroom is clean and often empty as well as they have a few of them.
PPengguna TetamuExcellent stay! Hotel may be old but the facilities are up to date and clean. Service from staff is also generally good. 7mins walk to Sainokaiwara Park via the short cut. It’s a 15mins walk from Yubatake and you’ll need to walk up a slope to get to the hotel, may be strenuous for those with luggages. There’s a shuttle bus to and fro hotel to Yubatake every hourly, refer to photo. There’s even a shuttle bus to Takasaki train station, so ask the staff for details. Breakfast in hotel is excellent and very homely, overall enjoyed my stay here and will recommend friends to come!
