Salana Boutique is a must for a stay in Vientiane. The location is perfect for all the city sights, all within a few minutes walk and close to the airport. The Salana is a beautiful hotel, and the room was fresh, clean and welcoming. As you would expect from a top hotel the staff are very welcoming, helpful and very friendly. I would certainly recommend.

A very convenient hotel for short stays on a budget, rate is consistent, room was comfortable, excellent shower with good pressure and temperature, good bed and fine breakfast (a la carte options) with good local food and good bread. While the place may not be fancy or instagramable, it's still a good hotel for sleeping at a relatively low price, so it makes it the perfect option in the area.

PPengguna TetamuHet hotel ziet er van buiten niet zo fraai uit. Er wordt iets groots recht tegenover gebouwd. De kamer was erg netjes en erg schoon. Ontbijt is beneden in het restaurant gedeelte en was erg lekker, moest je bij aankomst al bestellen. Receptiemedewerker was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam al was zijn kennis van de Engelse taal niet heel hoog. Maar zonder meer een aanrader voor Vientiane.

PPengguna TetamuI decided to try this new hostel as a budget alternative. It is dormitory style, in a kind of mini-cube design, like Japanese hostels I have read about, but with curtains instead of secure doors.
On the plus side: Everything was very clean. The shower was nice and hot. The plumbing all worked. The reception area is a nice coffee bar with good food, coffee and tea and good WiFi internet and a nice loop of current music by the original artists. There is also a 4th floor balcony to watch the sunrise.
On the minus side:
There were no power outlets in the reception area. (But there are two in each cubiicle.) The shower had no hooks or rack to hang a towel or clothes.
The cubicles have no secure door, just a curtain. (But there is a separate locker for each cubicle to secure luggage and valuables.) There was no hot water for coffee available early before 6:00 am. And the sleeping area was refrigirated to about 20 degrees C (but the comforter was nice and warm all night).
I might try it again, and I will definitely be back to enjoy the coffee.

PPengguna TetamuI arrived Vientiane by train. There were two buses picking up passengers opposite the front of the station. One was a minibus going to the night market (30k kips) and the other was a public bus going to Vientiane Central Bus Station (25k kips). The minbus going to the night market was full so I took the one going to the Central Bus Station. On checking Google maps, the one going to the night market is the correct transportation to take.
It was close to 9pm when I arrived at the bus station. Note that the reception closes at 10pm. I took a tuk tuk at 50k kips (bargained from 100 kips). The fare was 30k kips when I took a car from the hostel back to the Bus Station to catch Bus 12 to Vientiane (Khamsavath) train station. Do note that this is a different train station from the station I'd arrived from. That station is used by the Laos-China train, while Khamsavath station is used by the Laos-Thai train.
The above described the location of the hostel in relation to the train stations and Central Bus Station.
As for the 3rd floor room (was it 2nd?? well, it was at the highest floor) that I was assigned, there is space enough for 6 beds (3 double deckers). My beddings were spotlessly clean. The aircon worked perfectly. The staff who had checked me in helped with my luggage, which was much appreciated. He pointed out to me the facilities too.
The bathroom cubicles and toilets are on the ground floor. They are clean. The bathroom cubicle i had used were without showergel/soap or shampoo. I did not check the other cubicles.
The common area is behind the reception on the groundfloor. It is air-conditioned and has comfortable seats. There is a water dispenser which dispenses cold water. Again, much appreciated.
In a folder on a desk opposite the reception desk contains information on transportation, fares and public bus schedules. Most useful!
The owner (i assumed he is) had kindly helped me call a car to the central station. He went out in the heat to look out for the car and bode me farewell. It is personal touches like this that warms the heart.
Yes, it is a hostel I would recommend. The 2 attached pictures were information displayed on the walls of the common area which i found useful.

SserselCleanliness: Generally very clean room. Not sure when it’s opened but looks like everything is new and nice.
Room size: Quite a bit space including a desk.
Staff: Super friendly and helpful.
Food: Hotel restaurant has great food with cheaper prices. Initially I didn’t book breakfast but their $5 breakfast was definitely worth the money.
There are not many options around.
Amenities: There’s a nice pool although I didn’t have time to use. Would be great in hot days.
Can also ride a bike for $2 per day.
Location: It’s out of the city in a quiet area. It wasn’t a problem for me as I was looking for a quiet place for good sleep, but the location might be problem if you want to be in the city center with many restaurant options.
They have free shuttle bus twice a day at 6 & 7 pm. Alternatively can bike under 10 mins. Haven’t tried but I’m sure they’ll be happy to help if taxi or tuktuk is requested.
Overall: Considering the price, it was a great stay for me.

We couldn't find any available rooms online anymore so we direct messaged them on Facebook and it turned out they still had a twin room free for our dates. The room was not very large but big enough to be comfortable in. Bathroom was clean but the toilet seat was loose so had to be careful using this. All in all the room was good enough for us. The café downstairs is really nice, breakfast that was included was lovely and large portions (especially the rice soup) and the food we had for lunch there was amazing. Really nice vibes as well so you could even come here just for the food if you're staying elsewhere. The only minus for this place is the location. It's a bit on the edge of the city centre and quite a walk away from the hustle and bustle. There's some things to do close by, like the famous arch, but most good restaurants and bars are on the other end of the centre 15-20 minutes walk away. We don't mind walking a bit so not a huge problem for us but just something to keep in mind. We also organised our transport, the sleeper bus service to Pakse, which all went really well. They picked us up in a minivan at the agreed time and brought us to the bus station. There the driver paid for our tickets and showed us to our sleeper bus. We were surprised by the bus in a positive way, which was much better and nicer than we expected from all the stories we'd heard. It looked like the driver bought the tickets from a company called Chitprasong and they used King of Bus buses which were pretty comfortable. PPengguna Tetamu酒店乾淨、乾淨、乾淨，重要的事情説三遍。前台的老撾小姐姐人美，懂中文，親和力好；其他的員工比如翻譯阿樂，還有接站的中國小哥，都是你在異國遇到小問題能給與及時幫助的人。老闆一開始覺得他好高冷，因為我們入住的時候他正在整理清洗自己的汽車，沒怎麼接觸打招呼。結果到了晚上找老闆兑錢，洗完澡的老闆整個人煥發著一種慈父的容光，哈哈哈哈哈，實在、熱情、細緻。第二天我們出發時間早於飯店的早餐時間，老闆專門打電話徵詢我們的意見，為我們操心路早的事情。酒店提供火車站接送，十分便利貼心。總之，是一家性價比極高的酒店，推薦！

PPengguna TetamuVery accommodating front desk staff. Amenities you won't find it better than Vientiane Luxury Hotel are: The Gym, the pool, and the room cleanliness. It could use a little improvement on the elevator video display. It would be nice if the music from the display is more traditional like Lao bamboo flute or traditional music. Also show case the gym and pool more. 9.2 out of 10.

WWonnOverall stay in this hotel is not bad. We stayed for 4nights and electricity went off in one morning until afternoon. Hotel didn’t solve anything about this, even water supply cut off after electricity.
There is no breakfast in our stays. But Wi-Fi is usable.

AAntoniusLocation is far from tourist attractions and local restaurant. It is like Chinatown which alot of Chinese restaurant. Not recommended for tourist that looking for local experience. Front Staff is helpful, friendly and informative except the housekeeping (they talked loudly in the corridor while cleaning and shouting) so noisy plus people slamming the door, couple fighting and shouting, construction noise. I can't even sleep well whole stay. Plus things is the amenity is complete, drinking water, comb, tooth brush, hair dryer , shampoo and shower gel.
