Hotel berhampiran Woolworth, Cologne

Das Hotel liegt in Köln recht zentral. Auch die Möglichkeit direkt im Hotel zu frühstücken hat wohl den Ausschlag für die Buchung gegeben. Jedoch schon bei der Ankunft zeigte sich das an der Rezeption vor und nach mir es wohl Lautstärkedifferenzen zwischen den Buchungen der anreisenden Gäste und den Verständnis, der nur bedingt deutsch sprechenden Dame an der Rezeption gab. Mein mitreißender Kollege hat er eindeutig Frühstück mit bestellt. Musste dies aber am nächsten Morgen lautstark einfordern. Ich selbst, bin sehr viel in Hotels unterwegs hab es aber extrem selten erlebt, dass das Personal gegenseitig immer wieder lautstark vorgestern um Abläufe, welche eingeübt sein sollten, stritten. Mein Zimmer selbst war abgewohnt und hatte wohl den Flair der 1980 Jahre. Stromkabel einfach an die Wand geklebt, mit der Hoffnung, dass diese sich nicht wieder lösen. Insgesamt würde ich dieses Hotel nicht mehr buchen. Was den Grund, dass Mitarbeiter und Gäste sich ständig negativ anschreien.

Definitely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in and the best hotel from Accor Hotels. I had accidentally booked the wrong dates for my stay. As soon as I realised it, I contacted the hotel. The staff helped me to change my reservation dates. While on my trip, due to the strikes in France and problems with the train connections I had to postpone my meeting online. I sent an email to request to check in early since I will be having my meeting at 1 p.m. Ms Wulff made the necessary arrangements prior to my arrival. On my arrival I was able to check in early and able to proceed with my online meeting. Without her help I would not be able to conduct my meeting. On the next day, I had another online meeting. Her colleague made the necessary arrangements so that the housekeeping team could get the room cleaned before lunch and my next online appointment. Till date I have stayed in a number of hotels from the Accor Hotels group. In comparison to M Gallery am Konzerthaus in Wien, Hotel Mondial am Dom in Cologne exceeds my expectations. Professionalism The staff at the reception were not only friendly and good at what they are doing, they are also willing to help and went an extra mile to make things possible. I would not have been able to get my work done if they did not help me. Even when checking out, the staff was professional and showed interest to assist customers whenever they dan. Splendid Location Situation a few minutes walk from the train station and the main city area, is this hotel definite one of the most strategic location in Cologne. View of the Cathedral I managed to get a glimpse of the cathedral from my room. Dinner I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was not only affordable, the service was impeccable. The waiter even suggested where I could sit so that I can get the best view of the area. Awesome! I would like to thank the remarkable staff for making my stay in Köln memorable und unforgettable. I would definitely be staying in this hotel again when I visit Cologne. In German (Deutsch) Das Hotel Mondial in Köln ist mein Favorit und ist mit Sicherheit das Hotel von der Accor Hotel Gruppe. Ich habe bei der Buchung das falsche Datum eingegeben und musste meine Buchung ändern. Die Mitarbeiterin. hat mir geholfen meine Buchung zu ändern. Wegen Streiks und Probleme mit Deutsch Bahn musste ich meine Termine verschieben. Ich habe das Hotel gefragt ob ich früher einchecken kann um mein Termin online wahr zu nehmen. Frau Wullf hat alles für mich arrangiert damit ich meinen Termin online fortsetzen kann. Am nächsten Tag habe ich auch einen Termin online. Der Kollege von Frau Wulff hat mit dem Housekeeping-Team koordiniert damit das Zimmer von 13 Uhr fertig gereinigt ist. Dadurch könnte ich meinen Termin um 14 Uhr wahrnehmen. In diesem Hotel sind die Mitarbeiter:innen nicht nur freundlich sondern auch hilfsbereit. Diese Motivation ist leider eine Seltenheit auch bei den Luxus-Marken von Accor. The pluses and negatives of this hotel are: Good Points: Premium location, the hotel is only a short 10 min walk down the hill and to the right from the station bringing you to a quiet courtyard 1 block back from the main Heumarkt square (left hand side of the square) A modern, boutique sized hotel Comfy bed Quiet from an outside noise perspective, especially given its next to the main bar / restaurant areas of Cologne Clean Negatives Pillows too soft Double rooms very compact with minimal storage space for luggage Walls very thin, you can hear every conversation clearly of your neighbours Continental breakfast at 15 euro was overpriced imo for the choice available if not included in room rate No bar/relaxation area to sit in, if you are wanting to use hotel facilities to relax No tea/coffee making facilities in room, kettle available on request Walk in shower was nice but as bathroom is so small you end up having a slippy floor, and be careful of the floor rails where the glass shower panel runs as raised and easy to trip over Mini bar was empty other than 2 complimentary bottles of water (not that we usually purchase from mini bar) but worth noting if you do Overall on a personal note we paid a high room rate for our particular 2 night break due to it been a peak weekend of events going on in Cologne which were unknown to us when we originally booked the flights and decided on this hotel. It was not worth 500 euros, I would say 350 / max 400, and this is mainly due to the location. Perfectly functional for a short break at the right price.

It was a very modern and clean stay. The room was nice and soundproof when the windows were closed. The bed was not the most comfortable bed for a hotel and a little noisy as if there was a plastic wrapping. So every time there was movement it would wake the other person up. But overall would recommend giving it a try! We are light sleepers and it might have been just the mattress in our room.

Hotel ligt vlak bij de Dom en het centraal station in een rustige straat en beschikt over een eigen parkeergarage (tegen betaling) die wel vrij nauwe ingang en nauwe parkeerplekken heeft. We arriveerden tegen het middaguur; onze business comfort met 2 separate bedden kamer was reeds gereed. Inchecken verloopt snel en effectief in de kleine receptie. De kamer beschikt over een badkamer met baddouche en toilet. Er is een raam dat open kan. Ondanks dat de kamer aan de straatzijde op 1e etage ligt is deze rustig. Er is koffie thee op de kamer beschikbaar. Vlak naast de receptie ligt de grote ruimte waar het ontbijtbuffet met ruim voldoende keuze geserveerd wordt. Vanuit het hotel loop je binnen 5 minuten via de stationshal het stadscentrum met alle belangrijke bezienswaardigheden (waaronder de Dom van Keulen) in. Er zijn voldoende restaurants in de omgeving; het hotel heeft geen restaurant voor lunch of diner.

Stayed for two nights. Easy to get around. Close to all amenities, lots of restaurants with different cuisines in the area. Small room with double bed nicely decorated and comfortable enough unspite of little closet space. Clean. There are no shower cup, and just soap for all your body parts, including hair. The staff provided me with a kettle upon requst, so I could have a cup of tea in my room. Continental breakfast is very satisfying. And this hotel has the best cappuccino in Koeln.

Hotel staff, were professional, efficient and friendly. I was on a business trip, the hotel was convenient for a good connection to the road network, in the morning for business. While being convenient for access to the city and other amenities in the evening.

The Courtyard Marriott of Cologne was clean, beautiful and a great location. It was a short walk to the Central train Station and near all the sights of Cologne. I was only there for one night and did not get to experience the breakfast as we checked out before it was served, but they did provide me with a lunch box which included a ham and cheese sandwich, a banana and a water. There is coffee and boxed water 24 hours a day in the lobby. The beds were super comfortable and the temperature of the room was ideal, as we had control over the air conditioner, whereas other hotels we stayed in the same week, did not allow us control and we were very warm. The room we had was a nice size and the view was of the empty courtyard which was extrememly quiet and definitely highly desirable. Front staff upon checking in, was not friendly, however after check in everyone else we came in contact with was very friendly. I didn't get the ladies name at the front desk, but she definitely didn't give us a positive welcome. Glad her shift ended and everyone else we dealt with, and passed was extremely friendly and that is what the experience should be like.

There was no air conditioning (AC) even though the hotel advertised as having it. Their excuses was that it was too cool at night to operate the AC for the hotel even though it was actually very warm outside. Translation: the entire hotel is either on heat or AC, they are too frugal to allow use of the advertised AC, or their system is outdated and does not actually work properly. Very hot and stuff room. The odd thing was is that the hotel lobby seemed to have AC. The hallways and room were uncomfortably hot. Upon checking in there was only a little bit of toilet paper was left on the roll. Fortunately there was an extra roll provided. Only a few sheets of Kleenex were in the box. Also, the hand soap dispenser was nearly empty. It seems not much care is given to the rooms between guests. On our last day the housekeeper knocks on the door early in the morning even tough the “do not disturb” sign was hung on the door. It was a basic room with furnishings that included a desk, a small round table, 2 small nightstands, a desk chair, and one sitting chair. There was no usable refrigerator, just a mini bar. The was only one suitcase rack situated in the closet. We had to use the sitting chair for our other suitcase. The beds were not too comfortable. Also the pillow case did not completely cover the pillow, so your head might rest upon the exposed portion of the pillow where the lasts hundreds of guest placed their heads. Bathroom was OK but a bit smelly. The shower had low water pressure. Some water will leak out under the shower door to the floor. Stepping over the high tub with a slippery shower floor is a bit precarious. Internet speed was 3.81 Mbps in both upload and download, with 8 ms latency. The location is near the chocolate museum and a good pizza and pasta restaurant is nearby. The cathedral is less than a mile away. At almost 400 euros a night, it was very expensive for a poor experience. Perhaps HN stands for “Not Happy.”

For my first trip to Cologne, my one-week stay at AMERON was delightful, so I hope I will be a returning guest soon! The hotel's location is perfect for catching different public transport means quickly and efficiently. The room was well-lighted, spacious, great for relaxing but also working, and had a pleasant modern warm aesthetic. The restaurant had delicious quality food (breakfast selection was very diverse, dinner too was always tasty), ”served” with a stylish and cozy atmosphere. The hotel's staff as well as the restaurant's staff were very friendly and had a lot of benevolent patience with my rusty German speaking skills! Communication was easy, professional, but also comfortable, in both German and English. Very happy with my choice, my heartfelt thanks to all the staff!
