Just returned from our second stay at this hotel. This year we stayed for 16 nights and had a fantastic time. Rooms comfortable and have everything you need, and are well cleaned daily. Pool area lovely and drinks fine. Definitely noticed an improvement in the food this year. We didn’t eat out once and didn’t find ourselves overly bored of it. Weather was a bit cloudy for a few days but rented a car and the hotel was a great base from which to visit Puerto del Carmen, Teguise, Timanfaya, with plenty of parking near the hotel. Yes it’s a bit of a walk to any major amenities but everything else makes up for it, and it’s only a fiver in a taxi to Costa Teguise centre.

Well, where do I start? From the time of arrival on the 19th December to departure on the 29th as a family, we had an absolutely wonderful time. In no small thanks to the staff too. We decided for a change to go away for the Christmas period as we’d never done this before. We went self catering and were expecting an apartment, but on our arrival at reception, were allocated a bungalow (No.1024) to the left of the complex. Maybe I made a slight error when I made the booking, but what a surprise!! The reception staff were all approachable and helpful to us if needed. If needed, they’d call a taxi for you if you requested. The complex is slightly out of the way but not that far from the action. I’d say around a 10-15 minute walk maximum. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice and cozy the bungalow was. All the basics were there- a fridge, 2 hob cooker, utensils, kettle, crockery etc. I could be wrong, but it looked recently refurbished. (Uploaded pics will show what we saw once inside). There was a large tv on the wall which shows the 5 UK channels (why would you want to watch tv on holiday anyway?). There was also a large pull out sofa bed too. There was a large wooden fruit bowl with discount coupons for local store chain Fund-Grube, as well as maps, excursion leaflets and local attractions. The bathroom was lovely and clean, with a good, powerful shower that had both a larger head and a smaller one. Even had shower gel and soap in dispensers on the wall, as well as complimentary soaps. Like most if not all apartments etc on holiday, exercise caution on exiting the shower as it quite slippery when wet. To get towels changed, you pile them up under the Bathroom sink for the maids, where they’d be replaced in plentiful supply We had this done every couple of days. Maids were lovely and polite. Couldn’t fault them one bit. The only day we didn’t see them was Christmas Day. However, I think the only downside was not having enough loo roll sometimes. But this is a minor niggle. It’s not the end of the world. You just go to reception and ask- it’s not hard is it? Please note there is a do not disturb sign that you hook on the door, also on the reverse side if memory serves correctly, asks maids to clean room. The two bedrooms were bright, clean and reasonably spacious, with a safe which you pay for at reception (just like everywhere else) which worked out at around €30for the duration of our stay. Beds and pillows were lovely and comfortable. On par near enough with the ones we had in NYC. Hangers and drawers in room. At the side of the bed on the wall is a small adjustable reading light, as well as a brighter lamp. Take your pick. Outside on the patio is a foldable clothes horse fitted to the wall. Sun loungers and a table, chairs (and ashtray) are supplied. It was also so pleasurable feeding the lovely little Collared Doves that reside on the site too. An amazing hotel for any family to visit. Staff are amazing with kids and adults alike. Loads of activities and clubs for kids from 6mths and a great variety of food. We look forward to returning again in the not too distant future. Plenty here for everyone to do Young and old.

Our fifth visit to the hotel during the month of January, trying to avoid the winter gloom in the UK! The greatest compliment I can pay the hotel is that the majority of their staff have been working there for as long as we have been going. It's always a good sign of happy staff who provide a superb service. I occasionally see guest reviews on the lack of food choice, which I find hard to agree with. There is so much for all. I'm a fish lover, which is always well catered for, with plenty of salads, vegetables, etc. Possibly, the options for meat lovers are slightly less, but then we normally ate late at lunchtime and dinner, which may have been relevant. Three swimming pools to choose from, including a kiddies only, although the freshwater option is to say the least very cold. Most opt for the saltwater heated pool, which was set at 29c. Many people prefer to go visit the local bars etc. for their evening entertainment, but the hotel has 2 alternating musical/variety acts each night, which run from approximately 2000-2200. And if you did want an early night, all five mainstream UK terrestrial channels are shown on the room tv. We are booked again to return for this Christmas/New Year for the first time, luckily, before all the rooms had sold out for that period. Can't wait.

Great location as a base, close to bars, restaurants, beach and the airport. We stayed in a self catering apartment for 7 nights, the room was spacious, clean, no bad smells or insects. The bathroom needs an extractor fan and the bedroom could do with some draws. The wardrobe is large but there may not be enough room for a longer stay/family staying in there. We were on the quieter side of the complex and there was a lift to the first floor we stayed on so easy access with cases etc. There appeared to be plenty of sunbeds however not much shade/umbrellas. The pool near the night bar is quieter(no music). People were lining up for the main pool before 10am and there probably isnt much room round that pool when the hotel is full. The towels and curtains in the room need replacing they are tired/worn/old. Kitchen seems well equipped for basic cooking although we didnt use it, you will need to bring or buy washing up supples. We didnt eat at the hotel but had a few drinks in the bars, they are expensive compared to bars outside the hotel. Wifi is hit and miss, if you can use your own internet package. Reception staff are helpful and friendly, they supplied an iron when requested and replaced the fan in the room as the first one didn't work well. Wish we had known about there being no a/c, you assume in this day and age all places will have it now. The window in the bedroom is no use as it opens out into a closed corridor so no air coming in and it is too high up.
