This stay at Shangri-La Jinan in an Executive themed room exceeded my expectations! Before checking in, Guest Relations Zhu Mindy proactively reached out and meticulously explained the Executive Club benefits. She clearly outlined the happy hour at the Executive Lounge, the two breakfast venues along with their pros and cons, and their operating hours. Upon arrival, Mindy greeted us and handled the check-in process, making the entire experience effortless. She was professional and attentive. This hotel is perfect for both business and leisure travelers.

The hotel boasts a grand architectural design and numerous rooms, reflecting the style of an established star-rated hotel. Upon entering the room, there was a noticeable musty smell. However, the mattress was very thick and incredibly comfortable to sleep on. We ran out of tissues in the room, but the housekeeper promptly brought some when we requested them. There were no disposable bath liners for the bathtub, and they weren't available for purchase, which is an area where service could definitely be improved. Given its large scale, the hotel could consider offering childcare services similar to Club Med. A kids' play area with soft play structures, slides, and a ball pit would be a great addition, allowing parents to relax. There was no buffet available. With such a large property, inter-departmental communication seems to be an issue. The information provided by the housekeeper for the 1928 Beer Bar's dining options was incorrect. After checking out, the housekeeper asked for a good review. I provided some suggestions, but the housekeeper, 'Dabaitu' (Big White Rabbit), never replied. It feels like the service in northern China is often a 'do-it-because-my-boss-told-me-to' mentality, and any extra requests from guests are seen as an inconvenience. I really liked the breakfast buffet where many of the attendants were older, creating a very harmonious atmosphere, like being cared for by parents while away from home. The breakfast selection was extensive. There are two swimming pools, one indoor and one outdoor. Cat petting costs 19.9 for children and 29.9 for adults, with single entry and unlimited time. Feeding animals costs 10 yuan, which includes one portion of feed. **However, if you write a good review for 1 yuan, you get fewer carrots than the 10 yuan portion. The animals seemed a bit pathetic, with the little horse constantly kicking the wire fence.** There are two swimming pools, both indoor and outdoor. The buffet at the 1928 Beer Bar is more Western-style. Many people might not be used to it. We tried it, and the quality of the desserts was excellent! There's a beach right behind the hotel, with some rocks, but not too many. You can go tide pooling in the early morning and at night. It's too hot during the day due to strong sun, and there isn't much seafood to find then either. The package included access to the Haiquanwan Hot Springs, but I must mention: it was dirty. There were no tissues or disposable combs in the hair-drying area (only a few scattered combs for everyone to share). With this level of service, I won't be returning. The hotel's location is indeed a bit remote, making it suitable for self-driving. There's a Shandong University cafeteria and museum nearby, which I'd give five stars!

My stay at the Westin Qingdao this time brought an unexpected experience, thanks to the excellent coordination between the Front Office and Housekeeping departments. Upon arrival for check-in, the Front Office team not only handled the basic reception but also paid close attention to the details of my travel plans. They considered the actual habits of different guests, communicating concisely and practically, avoiding overly formal pleasantries. When I provided feedback to the Front Office regarding my stay, the information was efficiently synchronized with the Housekeeping department. The seamless communication between departments meant I didn't have to repeat myself, and the closed-loop handling of issues was truly reassuring. Housekeeping's service was subtle yet profound. Daily room tidying was meticulous and thorough, with items neatly arranged, and the bathroom and bedding maintained to be clean and comfortable. Any requests for additional supplies or simple adjustments to the room's setup were responded to promptly and executed efficiently, without any delays. Even without direct interaction, I could genuinely feel the staff's dedication. One department handles external reception and coordination, while the other maintains the quality of the living space within the room. These two departments complement each other perfectly. They don't intentionally create a sense of ceremony but rather focus their efforts on tangible details, making the entire experience, from arrival to departure, smooth and comfortable. It was precisely the diligent and dedicated work of both teams that made my entire stay incredibly pleasant, and I highly commend the service levels of both departments.

When I came to Qingdao this time, after comparing various options, I chose the Wyndham Grand Qingdao and was very satisfied with the overall experience. The hotel's location is convenient for getting around, and the interior environment is quiet and peaceful, free from outside noise. The mattress was very comfortable, and after one night's stay, all my fatigue was gone. The smart home system and Dyson hairdryer were great added touches. The cleaning was meticulous, and staff members Xiaoxiao and Lydia were responsive to all questions and efficient in their work. This hotel is perfect for both business trips and short getaways.

I was very satisfied with the hotel. You can reach it directly from the airport via a connected walkway. The rooms are very spacious. The twin rooms are generally not affected by planes taking off and landing, but in the king rooms, you can see and definitely hear the planes. For dining, there's a food court in the arrival hall, but the food quality is only average. In the departure hall, there are chain restaurants, and the Chuange Dumplings are delicious, and you can also order other dishes. The hotel also has a Chinese restaurant where you can have dumplings, noodles, and set meals. The hotel pool was open; after getting in, it wasn't cold after swimming for a bit. Getting to the city center takes about an hour on Line 8, which is quite convenient.

The location is indeed quite convenient, and the environment is decent. As for the facilities, they're just okay – the first ten seconds of water from the bathtub faucet were rusty red. My biggest complaint, however, is about their 'free shuttle service.' If you don't offer it, don't advertise it. If you do, then actually provide it. I booked twice. The first time, they said the driver had finished for the day. The second time, they claimed they couldn't pick me up due to weather conditions. Is bad weather really an excuse? Do your drivers only operate electric vehicles or something?

This hotel definitely deserves a five-star rating! My room was incredibly spacious, and they even upgraded my room type and gave a complimentary breakfast for my child, which had a great variety. The night view from the 24th floor was amazing. There's a mall nearby with a popular stir-fried chicken place (expect a queue!), and a small night market. The hotel has an adjoining ground-level parking lot; just give your license plate number to the front desk when you leave, and parking is free, which is super convenient. Even though prices went up during the May Day holiday, it was still very reasonably priced compared to other hotels. If you come during off-peak times, the value for money would be exceptional. The only minor downside is the lack of a mini-fridge in the room. It felt a bit odd, especially since they provided a Dyson hairdryer – you'd expect a standard amenity like a fridge. The hotel is about 9 kilometers from Tianwai Village at Mount Tai, roughly a 20-minute drive. You can park at Taishan Hospital, which is right across from Tianwai Village. Just make sure to park before 7:30 AM.

During the National Day holiday, I stayed at Shangri-La Qingdao with my family. The most delightful surprise this time was meeting our butler, Nina. After we checked in, she proactively added me on WeChat. Later, when we inquired about the buffet restaurant's operating hours and dining details, she promptly and thoroughly responded to all our questions. On the morning of our departure, Nina specifically messaged us to remind us about collecting our farewell gift and extended National Day wishes – full of thoughtful details. Due to an unexpected change in our itinerary, we encountered traffic on our way back and planned to have the buffet at the hotel before checking out. After explaining the situation to Nina, she was incredibly understanding of our arrangements. Her communication was gentle and patient; she didn't rigidly adhere to policies but fully empathized with the inconvenience of traveling with family. Many hotel services are just routine, but Nina's genuine dedication was truly palpable. After a tiring journey, this kind and thoughtful service brought our Qingdao trip to a perfect close. If I visit Qingdao again, I will definitely stay at Shangri-La once more, and I look forward to meeting Nina again! We hope to see Nina in Harbin too!

The room faced the sea with a fantastic view, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a good night's sleep. 👍 I was traveling with my mother and child, and the hotel upgraded our room type, which was very much appreciated! The hotel's dinner buffet offered great value for money! The seafood was fresh and there was a wide variety, so much so that we ate dinner at the hotel's buffet for 3 consecutive nights. It was so convenient not having to stress about finding a restaurant. The hotel's backyard connects to a seaside promenade, perfect for walking or cycling. Along the way, we saw many people fishing, catching huge mantis shrimp and blue crabs. It was wonderful to enjoy fresh seafood right by the ocean!
