Hotel is centrally located near the main plaza and has great front desk reception staff and breakfast. The rooms are small but a great value. They have oxygen if you need it when dealing with high altitude illness. I wish they offered more snack options.

My friends and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Motto! The location was perfect for grabbing a quick bite to eat, shopping, and safely walking through Cusco. Adolf, specifically, was very hospitable and accommodating to our needs. I would stay at Motto again.

An exceptional place from my collection of favorite Hilton hotels. The highest level of service. Guests are welcomed as long-awaited friends and farewelled with warmth and care. Stylish design. Excellent bedding. Outstanding breakfast. Everything is top-notch. Special thanks to the hotel staff member Marco for his exceptional assistance in exploring the city, providing a detailed overview of the services, and selecting the best room in the hotel. I sincerely thank him. Highly recommended to everyone. Motto by Hilton Cusco!

Our stay at Motto by Hilton was a scam. We were charged an unwarranted $110+ USD, referred to as a 'local tax' for Peruvians, even though I was born in Spain and live in Madrid. Also, I paid with a Spanish card issued by a Spanish bank. Also, my girlfriend, who did not even pay for the stay, has her tax residency in Spain. She offered to provide proof of this fact. The hotel did not care about it. Avoid this hotel to steer clear of such illegal practices.

We stayed here for 4 nights, and I recommend this hotel for a budget-minded traveler used to Western amenities that needs a good central location. We checked in through the Hilton app beforehand and arrived around 7pm. The host was ready for us right at check in. He greeted us as Gold members and offered us points or breakfast. Since breakfast was for 2 for 4 days but points is just a one time, we went for the breakfast for the convenience. The host walked us to our room (it is a maze and you could get lost for your first time). Like other Motto hotels, this is a very small and compact hotel room. We stayed at the Motto in Tulum before and like the layout of this Motto more. It’s about the same square footage, but this layout is more thought out. Our room sadly did not have any windows to the outside world, it had a tiny window to the corridor of the hotel. But having read other reviews about how loud the rooms could get from outside the hotel, we were glad we got the room. We stayed at 116, which is at the very end of the hall. If you did want to open your window, it is less likely others can see you vs the other rooms. My husband got quite sick during our trip and spent a couple days recuperating in our room and really appreciated how well we could sleep. The hotel breakfast options were decent and the 2 food that worked there get a 10/10. They highlight is that you can request a made to order omelette or a boxed breakfast to go if you don’t have time. Adolfo was very helpful for me during the trip. He helped me print my Machu Picchu tickets (you just need to email him the files). When my husband was really sick and couldn’t stomach any food, Adolfo helped me order soup to get delivered to the hotel. I highly recommend this dining option if you are unable to dine out. When checking in, my credit card was scanned for $32 USD more than was on my reservation email. I asked Adolfo to help and it was fixed the next day. I’m not sure what went wrong, but appreciate it was fixed so efficiently. I do recommend you double check what you get charged vs what you got at the time of booking. The location of this hotel is just so convenient, the road here is just slightly bigger that allows cars to stop for you to load/unload your luggage. It is just a couple minute walk from Gato’s, a supermarket I found with the best prices in town. There are 2 things I wish the hotel could do better: 1. Provide 2 bottles of free water per day instead of per night. Or better yet, have a fountain where we could fill our water bottles and save plastic. I want to say I wish there was a gym, but given how many outdoor things to do in Cusco, I probably wouldn’t have used it. 2. Have a coffee maker in the room or a hot water kettle for instant coffee.

This is a new concept for Hilton and a fairly new hotel in an old building. I was amazed by all the five star reviews ( Eng/ Span) as I found this hotel adequate. Location, location, location! As mentioned, the location is extremely convenient. The location is also the source of the street noise. See photo for the kind of local traffic that causes gridlocks and honking. Friends who had rooms on the street could not sleep. I was given an inner dark cave essentially without a window that was very quiet. Staff The staff were very sweet; from the folks in the breakfast room to the front desk to random staff who directed me to my room when I was lost , they were all helpful. Marco in the evening was very kind when I needed help. Not user friendly As mentioned, this is an old building and there are limits to what you can do remodeling an ancient building. It was very nice to have a modern bathroom, task lighting over the bed and adequate plugs for all the things I needed to charge. BUT if you are aging, mobility challenged or challenged by difficulty thinking or breathing due to the high elevation, this place is tough. When you arrive, they tell you to take the elevator up or down, but it’s not obvious immediately that you entered on floor one and have to go to minus one. The elevator only goes to the levels for half of the rooms and for the rest you have to walk a series of stairs up or down. This is truly a drag when you’re already short of breath from altitude or are carrying a bag. The rooms are not numbered sequentially or logically. It would take very little effort to make the place more user-friendly by having signs in the elevator, telling you which floor to choose for which room numbers and having signage in the hallways and at the stairways that interconnect different floors, directing guests to different room numbers. This is standard in many hotels and especially necessary in this confusing layout. Likewise, there were no instructions on how to use the radiator in the room. I didn’t need it, but it’s just another example of things Motto needs to do to be more user-friendly. Like most high altitude hotels, oxygen is offered to guests who need it. Our group was large and mostly older, and probably we used more oxygen than their younger guests. But the second night I needed oxygen and had a severe headache and the tank was empty and they wouldn’t be able to get another tank that night. Our guide exerted some pressure that they get oxygen earlier the next day but by evening, that tank was almost empty. How hard would it be to keep two tanks on hand at all times to avoid health problems for their guests?
