JW Marriott El Convento Cusco

The best hotel experience for me in all of my travel. The saying you get what you paid for is so accurate. Yes, it’s pricey to stay here but boy is it worth it. This hotel is truly a paradise and oasis for your long day of traveling and hiking. First the hotel is beautiful and centrally located. There are so many activities and amenities that the guests can participate in the hotel. We did the hotel tour and interacted with the baby alpaca. Second, the room and the amenities provided in the room were so carefully throughout. The food during breakfast was great and there were varieties. But what truly make this hotel stand out for me is the staff. From the bellboy, to the front desks and the servers.. all the staff treated all the guests with care. We had an issue with our pickup at the train station (no fault of the hotel or us) but they were very apologetically about it and the staff wanted to make sure we were ok which we were. All in all., if you have the money to spend.. stay here. It was such an amazing two nights experience for my husband and I,

This hotel deserves more stars if that would be possible. The location is unbeatable. The monastery is an architectural delight and the inner courtyards give serenity. The Cusco school of art pieces on the corridors and in the rooms give a great and critical flavour of Cusco’s colonial past. We loved it as a special treat.

After many days in Peru, this hotel provided wonderful respite and beauty. I can honestly say I’ve never had such amenities in a room: two robes, one plush and one silky - hot water bottles nestled into your bed before turndown — and on and on. The embroidered linens, courtyards, and flowers are utterly charming.

Cusco, Peru was the first leg of our first trip to South America and the Palacio del Inka hotel/spa made our first week so memorable. Months in advance prior to our arrival, Emerson and his fellow colleagues on the concierge team worked with us to select tours/excursions (through their travel agency partner Venturia) that were right in line with what we were looking for. Upon arrival, the hotel’s check-in process was both efficient and welcoming and everyone on the staff (including the GM) came out to greet us. The bar and restaurant staff learned and used our first names all week and that really made us feel at home. Plus, the food and cocktails were both top notch! The bartender also gave a terrific pisco sour making lesson while we were there. Make sure you ask about that activity! The hotel is beautiful and this property has one of the best Luxury Collection hotel spas that I’ve ever been to (a great variety of treatments and water therapy stations). The former mansion that this hotel now resides in also has a rich cultural history and a wonderful collection of artwork so please take their property tour while you are there…you’ll be glad you did. Overall, I want to say that every aspect of the Palacio del Inka experience was absolutely amazing and we highly recommend it for your stay in Cusco.

In addition to Fabrice ROBERT's opinion of October 3, 2024, the SPA is noted for its poor management of its customers. We came to this hotel twice (Room 212 on the nights of October 1 and 2 and Room 114 on the nights of October 4 and 5) and we were never able to push the door of the SPA because our appointments were canceled at the last moment without any valid reason. Not to mention the luggage service which had difficulties finding our suitcases left in storage for one night when our 2nd stay arrived. Such services are unworthy for an establishment of this 5-stars hotel category. In conclusion of great inequalities in services according to the services concerned in this Hotel.

Arrived at midday. Room available 15 minutes later. Nice room if a little warm. Nice bathroom though shower in bath with high side. Breakfast good. Boxed breakfast for early leaver could be booked the day before. It was not so good. On return after the Inca Trail, luggage was in our room. Room was an upgrade with a seating area. Bathroom very nice with freestanding bath. Excellent location.
