Sundaras Resort Dambulla is an amazing place to stay. My wife and I stayed three days at this hidden gem in the middle of a nature reserve. The hospitality was great with an extremely friendly and helpful staff, especially Sindu at the front office and Tito. The facilities, although not luxury, are quite delightful and good value for the cost. Every meal was an amazing array of traditional and delicious Sri Lankan dishes. A big advantage is that Sundaras is so close to many of the tourist attractions. We used the hotel tour service to visit places like Sigiriya, Pidurangala and Polonnaruwa. AK (Ekanayake), our tour guide was a wonderful man with great knowledge about the local scene and historical sites, to give us detailed descriptions about them. The inviting swimming pool at Sundaras, when we returned from the trips, in the hot evening, was another great feature. It was so refreshing and relaxing. Then there was the pool bar, manned by an extremely friendly guy to make and serve a delicious cocktail or a fruit juice. So, thank you to all at Sundaras for making our stay, a joy. Hopefully, we can be there again, some time.

I had a wonderful three-night stay at Jetwing Lake as a foreign tourist. I was a little nervous as to what to expect traveling to Sri Lanka as part of the tourist bio-bubble, given the current COVID- related restrictions. However, my concerns quickly dissipated, and I was so happy with my choice to stay at Jetwing Lake. This was the perfect base from which to explore the sites of the Cultural Triangle. The hotel itself is quite beautiful and well maintained. My Super Deluxe room was very spacious, had a beautiful bathroom (and lovely soaking tub), and a lovely patio/deck overlooking the pool and lake. The room was equipped with all the modern comforts. The food at the hotel was delicious and varied. The Sri Lanka fare did not disappoint, including the chicken curry and potato and leek burger. The cheesecake was also a delightful surprise. What set this hotel apart was the service, though. Everyone went out of their way to see to my every need, from learning my dining preferences to greeting me by name. The hotel staff even organized an afternoon cricket session, just for me. It was an incredible experience. I would absolutely stay here again, and I recommend to anyone interested in staying (whether locals or foreign tourists alike). Such a great experience!

Очень хороший отель за свою стоимость, приветливой и максимально услужливый персонал. Номер чистый, есть все необходимое. Не работал кондиционер, но нас заранее предупредили об этом и предложили скидку. В итоге кондиционер и не нужен был, было комфортно просто с вентилятором. Завтрак сытный и вкусный.

A nice quiet hotel, with accommodation in ”bungalows” in the grounds. Our room was very large, high and airy, with a mezzanine which we did not use. Facilities are a bit ”tired” and in need of refurbishment, but everything was clean and the room was well provided with toiletries, etc. The restaurant has a large dining area and offers a choice of buffet meals or a la carte. The buffet is quite extensive and offers a good choice of dishes, including omelettes, etc. at breakfast. There is live music at dinner time, and this can be quite loud, so try not to sit too close to the entrance, where the band is positioned. There is also a comfortable bar area with a well-stocked bar - although service can take a little time. The hotel has other facilities, but our schedule was too busy to allow us to use them. The hotel is quite far outside Dambulla, so there aren't any other restaurants or bars within walking distance.

I'm a frequent traveler and I was tempted to try out this hotel as I came across one of their offers. I called the hotel and checked their availability and placed a temporary booking. Then I confirmed the offer and made the payment and requested them to send the booking confirmation. I had been trying for 3 days to get a booking confirmation from them!!! But still had NO success. I travel a quite a lot and sending a booking confirmation is a matter of few minutes usually. I was surprised why it is taking them days to send a simple booking confirmation. I have made more than 10 calls over the past 3 days to ask for the booking. Also, to my surprise I found that the last few calls made to the landline were intentionally picked up and cancelled. (This is a FIRST in many of my travels). Also, I had the feeling that the first female agent who picked up the reservation was clueless. She was not good in her English, so I spoke to her in Sinhalese. Whenever I inquired about the booking she will reply saying it will be sent shortly. But it never came in the first 3 days. What a waste of time! Finally on the fourth day another reservation executive picks up the call and sends me a booking for a different set of days. I tried to call and ask them to correct it. But the hotel never picked up any of their phones. So i finally decided to cancel the booking. I'm sure they have made a Blunder somewhere!!! hence this reaction! I have seen hotels make mistakes before but the quality hotels always try to make amends and will usually try to check with the customer and correct it. This is a good sign of the lack of quality and lack of training of the staff. If the staff is this negligent and rude even prior to your arrival, I'm glad I didn't go there to find out!
