Overall not bad, just 2 minor concerns though, 1) no hot water (just luke warm) in the morning for shower, 2) a bit of not pleasant smell coming out from the bathroom

Ok, I was sent here by Cathay Pacific after one of their planes failed, so the review is tainted by seven hours at Frankfurt Airport, ( which is incidentally rated 3/10 by Skytrax). The hotel is dated, and of a quite austere design. They didn’t have my booking which was probably more Cathay’s fault than theirs. Checkin staff ranged from naive to rude. The room is large with a good sized balcony facing a major intersection. Go high to avoid road noise. Room amenities are sparse and it has an 80’s/90’s feel, in dark wood and green furnishings. Two smallish singles adorned the room, and an inbuilt radio adorned the headboard à la 70’s. There is a chair and small table. The bathroom didn’t have a bath and the plug in the sink didn’t work. I called for it to be fixed. The guy spent 20 seconds and declared it fixed. It wasn’t, of course, so I did it myself, although I am not a big fan of putting my fingers in hotel drains... Amenities are two fixed soap containers and two small bottle of body lotion. There is a hairdryer and a magnifying mirror as well as the usual behind sink one. The bathroom is well lit. There is a complimentary 750ml bottle of water and an empty minibar. The main restaurant is bright and lacking in any atmosphere. The breakfast area is slightly more welcoming. The buffet I tried was sparse but was probably contracted on a budget by cathays agents. International plug adapters are available, which isn’t always the case. There is no iron or ironing board in the room…although there is an ironing room on the third floor. Novel. The bar is the best bit. Classically styled and comfortable in an “old money” style.

Parking was easy they even have a charging point for e-cars… relaxed check in/out, no luxury but looks friendly/neutral. Very clean! Breakfast good enough witj some variety- even GF bread and soy milk, good coffee, fruits. Staff very friendly. Close to the Central Station but not noisy. For the price paid, a good value

Für Business garantiert das beste Hotel, da alle darmstadt-relevanten Firmen direkt um die Ecke sind. Für Touristen zu weit entfernt vom Zentrum. Aber: ein tolles Hotel mit fantastischem Konzept. Alles wirkt neu renoviert, und das mit Liebe. Personal sehr hilfsbereit - und das 24/7. Super sauber... Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Frühstücksleistung ebenfalls sehr gut.

Everything from check-in to provision of information, getting a coffee at the bar, room, breakfast and storing the luggage over the day was excellent. The (standard) room was extraordinarily quiet during the night, the windows do a good job in keeping the boise of the street outside. The bathroom is small, but sufficient. The desk is fine for working with a laptop and/or checking papers, and the wifi works well, too. The breakfast convinces with tasty breadrolls and jam as well as fresh vegetables and fruits, the cereals are good as well. As a tea lover, I was satisfied with the selection of teas provided (even though it was just one black tea). The location of the hotelis good, too: it is in walkable distance from the train station and the city centre and close by a tram station.

Very pleasant clean hotel well located right next to the railway station. It’s as you would expect for Holiday Inn. The room which we asked for my top story was modern fresh, lovely linen and a lovely big bathroom. We couldn’t get the TV to work one morning morning, we were checking out so I didn’t bother. Housekeeping came every day and the toiletries in the bathroom was dove and it was lovely a real nice touch. Head disabled parking which is what I needed close to the entrance door. The service from the desk at reception was very efficient. The breakfast was a good selection, although there are no cooked breakfast available.

Wir waren das erste mal am Samstag im Zuge als vip Gäste einer Veranstaltung in der Nähe zu Gast Die Begrüßung des rezeptionist war kühl und rapiad . Er wirkte genervt und wir hatten lediglich eine Frage zum parken und wurden belehrt , man sollte ihm erstmal zuhören , er erklärt einem schon alles . Online hatten wir bei der Buchung ein gratis Wasser auf dem Zimmer hinterlegt. Nachdem Check in stellten wir fest , dass es fehlt . Wir erkundigten uns beim rezeptionist freundlich nachdem Wasser. Und wurden erneut „ belehrt „ , dass man sich das Wasser selbst zu holen hat . Ich bin selbst aus dem Hotelfach und es geht wirklich freundlicher . Es tut uns leid ,dass wir seinen Samstag Abend gestört haben ;-) ein liebes Wort und ein Lächeln tut niemand weh . Das Zimmer war sauber Und ist funktional eingerichtet . Alles gut dem Standart angemessen. Schimmel leider in den Duschecken und modriger Geruch. Sonntag morgen wurden wir von extremen Lärm geweckt . Bein duschen vom Zimmer nebenan an hört ee sich an , ob ein Presslufthammer die Wand einreißt . In unserem Bad spritze das Wasser heftig auf den Leitungen , alles war komplett nass , auch private Gegenstände. Wir teilten dies dem Empfang freundlich umgehend mit und keinerlei Entgegenkommen. Man gibt es dem hausmeister weiter und fertig . Unsere privaten Gegenstände waren nass und trotz Late Check out waren wir pünktlich beim Frühstück, dank dem Lärm ;-) Auf dem Flur ist alles zugestellt vom housekeeping ubd man muss sehr darauf achten nicht zu stolpern . Staubsauger liegen quer auf dem Boden und alles ist zugestellt . Frühstück ist kompakt, frisch und wirklich lecker Freundlichkeit aber sehr ausbaufähig Wir sind anderen Umgang mit Gästen in anderen B&B Hotels gewohnt Und wirklich keine Gäste , die viel Aufmerksamkeit erwarteten und viel fragen

This Best Western is very well located near center of Darmstadt. Nice breakfast, free lattes and other coffee from machine in lobby. Several decent restaurants, natural food store, and nice bakeries within a couple blocks. But the rooms are small, and the hotel avoids certain services. For example, no one available to help bring bags in or out. Room cleaning only on request, and you have to confirm that they will clean on the day you requested or else they might forget (like they did with us). Finally, there's no clothes cleaning service offered by hotel, or even available in the vicinity. So make sure you don't arrive with lots of clothes that need washing, or you might be forced to just buy new clothing.

If you're looking for a place to get a restful night's sleep, do not go there. I learned this the hard way after a recent stay at the Best Western Plaza hotel in Darmstadt. In the middle of the night, we were abruptly awoken by a loud electrical bang. It turns out there was an electrical hazard in the hotel. The noise was so loud that it was impossible to sleep through it (80-90db). When I spoke to the night receptionist about the situation, he told me to take some ear plugs. The problem wasn't solved until an hour later. Needless to say, it was a very disruptive and unpleasant experience. When we checked out the next day, the day receptionist was rude when I told him we were unhappy with our stay. He rudely threw us a free parking ticket and acted like that should be thanking him up for the terrible experience we had. As a frequent business I would make sure to avoid any Best Western or Plaza hotel in the future. If you're looking for a place to stay, it would be better to sleep in your car or in a one star hotel than stay at one of these hotels brand.

Catena alberghiera Tedesca che abbiamo avuto il grande piacere di provare per la prima volta in questa occasione. Il Dormero Hotel Darmstadt si è senza dubbio rivelato uno dei migliori alberghi in cui abbiamo soggiornato durante il nostro ultimo viaggio in Germania. Moderno, ottima dotazione delle camere, prezzo concorrenziale, posizione esterna rispetto al centro città ma ben collegato dai mezzi pubblici (e in periodo di 9-Euro Ticket è stato davvero ottimo) posso assolutamente consigliare questo albergo sotto ogni aspetto. Prenotato tramite ******* al costo di poco meno di 58€ per una notte, due persone, colazione esclusa, devo dire che il nostro soggiorno è stato eccezionale. Reception aperta solo dalle 13 alle 23 ma con personale presente al nostro arrivo (nel primo pomeriggio) che ci ha gentilmente assegnato una camera all’ultimo piano, proprio come richiesto. Stanza nuova, arredata in stile ultramoderno e di buon gusto con colori sul bianco/rosso/nero, bagno dotato di doccia e asciugacapelli, grande televisore, minibar con alcune bevande gratis come benvenuto, dispositivo di cambio luci della camera in grado di modificare l’ambiente a piacimento, letto di grandi dimensioni (comodissimo), aria condizionata, cassaforte, Wi-Fi e silenzio totale in tutta la struttura. Presente un parcheggio esterno gratuito o, se si preferisce, un garage sotterraneo (non economico però, 15€ al giorno). Al pianterreno, vicino alla reception, sono presenti la sala colazione (che non abbiamo fatto) ed una teca con all’interno un serpente che “accoglie” i clienti. Lo stile moderno, la generale organizzazione e la qualità della struttura e delle camere ci hanno lasciati totalmente soddisfatti.
