Extremely happy with my stay here! Room is very spacious and clean, and I was within walking distance to most of the attractions and restaurants. The staff here are very friendly and they always went out of their way to make my experience in Datong memorable! I'm especially grateful because the manager showed me how to order food from local restaurants using my phone and get it delivered straight to my room! 10/10!!

Great place to feel at home in a very nice area of the old city. Big and pretty room, comfortable and cozy. And last, for me, the very best at this place is the welcoming and very helpful staff. I have been here already 2 times and I will come back for sure when more friends come to China and want to visit the amazing caves and the great atmosphere of the old town. Awesome place, really beautiful room and common areas. New, tidy and a 10 minute walk to city center. All you need basically, with attentive staff.

I was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries. The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included. The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride. My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room. The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily. If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn. *I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out. **I arrived in Datong from Beijing Daxing International Airport

Hotel is traditional Chinese style with many lantern and decorations. Room is air-conditioning damage and many hair in bathroom. Should be cleaned carefully.

The service is good and the location is good, but the decoration is a bit old-fashioned, especially the basement which feels a bit stuffy.

I carefully selected this B&B for its cleanliness, convenient access to the ancient city, quietness, and, most importantly, affordability. Honestly, I had a wonderful three days there. The cleanliness, which was my primary concern, was impeccable. It was also very convenient, allowing me to walk around the city and eat for three days. It was also very quiet at night. It's comparable to the exorbitantly priced B&Bs you'd pay for during the holidays!

This room is truly unique and feels like home. It has a tea table and sofa, and is richly decorated. It's spacious and even has a steam room and bathtub. Overall, it's a really nice room. Accommodation Tip: Just walk everywhere you go; don't take the bus, which is even more time-consuming. Also, is there a Mulan Inn right next to this hotel, or perhaps in another building within the same building? Anyway, navigation can be a bit off.
