I am on my Vismin leg of trainings and Davao is my last for this week. Had a great, smooth time in Tacloban, Cebu, Bohol and this last seminar in this hotel have been very challenging so far. At the front desk, I requested for lower floor, which I normally do (due personal traumatic experience which I do not need to explain) and after a series of ”please” thank God, Kate of Front Desk stepped in and found us a room at 6th which will be ready only by 5pm. It was turned over around 6pm. In preparation for our Monday seminar, we coordinated with Rose of Banquet to ocular the place as we have a specific layout to follow that will be good for classroom set up, group dynamics and dining. When we arrived at Ruby function room, linen staff Cory was there arranging for our seminar on Monday so we rendered help in lay outing the tables and chairs, projector screen. When we had to coordinate with the technical, we requested an HDMI longer than 1 meter so laptop can rest on the tech table. Sure they have a longer one but with additional charge of P300/day. When I asked for wireless mic to be used since the activity will involve passing around of microphone among the participants, guess what? Yes, an additional P800/mic/day will be charged! So with the 3 days seminar and 1 week stay that we pre booked and paid , these little requests do not come free. I do not want to ruin my Davao stay because I am an avid fan of our former President Duterte and only have the highest respects for his place. I hope to find some pleasant things from this hotel for the remaining days of my stay here to compensate for the ugly start. Time to activate the Vision Mission which is in every room of the hotel and not just left on the brochure. A simple greeting, some genuine smiles mean a lot to every customer. So far the only staff who has a ready smile and genuinely asks how he can be of service is Jaypee, service crew of Cafe Frances. He takes time to talk with the customers and ask how they are doing and recommends the best dish. Food is great and reasonably priced -- large servings and delicious! As for the edifice, needs repairs and refurbs. We had to call in help for the A/C and busted light bulb.

Certainly not the best option in Davao. I'd recommend that you try another hotel. It wasn't that bad but the room decor is outdated and there is no soundproofing so you literally hear everything in the other room.

Place is strategically located along the parade route for the kadayawan festivities. Its also most of the public transportation passed by. So moving around wouldnt be difficult. Locals are friendly, if you get lost just ask politely. Fares are universal for public transport but make sure to bring loose bills like extra coins to limit hassle transactions. The property is outdated though and theres no bidet in the bathroom. They dont have concierge thus make sure to packed lightly. Theres 1 lift available to move between floors. Price was a bit high due to the peak demands as the property was fully booked. Need to check the AC upon check in as the 1st room I got AS was working but cannot cool the room in itself. Upon technician visit, they were kind enough to accommodate me on the 2nd room considering they were fully booked during the festivities. Generally speaking, booked ahead and plan your itineraries prior to booking to maximize your wallet potential. Food stalls are walk away from the property same as other attractions.

The hotel is located within the center of Davao City. It's a walking distance from the Roxas night market and other establishments around the Roxas vicinity. Accessible to almost public transport. The hotel is good especially if you are on a budget yet has the basic accommodation features you need. The room I got has a decent space, comfy bed and pillows, a study/office desk, open and close cabinets, towels, shampoo, soap, hot and cold shower, a glass and tea cups plus a electric water heater for coffee or tea. The thing missing are the free bottled water and coffee, yet understandable considering its price per night of stay. The interiors of the hotel, lobby, hallways and the rooms are simple, not fancy but pleasing to the eyes. The reception and the security are good which makes my experience good. The room I got don't include breakfast, maybe because the restaurant is currently under renovation. And speaking of such, its quite noisy due to carpentry works when I was there, and you can hear the janitorial staff when they are cleaning. In fact, you can hear the other room, the walking guests outside the corridors during busy hours. But afterwards, around 11pm, the surrounding is quiet for resting. Overall, my experience is worth the price I paid.

At long last , back to Davao City, now with friends! The hotel has improved its services since last time I was there. Same friendly smiles from the lovely staff. They have complete toiletries now, so aside from toothbrush and toothpaste, they provide shampoo, lotion, showercaps etc in neat boxes. They served breakfast and ala carte meals through out evening! Being a small hotel with big enough rooms is comforting! Just a few walk from hotel is the nightmarket which is as usual very organized and secured. From there we binged on grilled food, durian and durian icecream, pomelo free taste too!

The room is big but its a bit old. It needs some maintenance work in my opinion. Breakfast buffet was poor!

If your are looking for a hotel that is price around 1,800 a night with basic amenities that even include room slippers, spacious room, huge comfortable bed, hot and cold shower, smart tv and a strong wifi. Then i recommend this place. Staff are friendly and accomodating. 7/11 is just around the corner and a restuarant is just below the hotel.Everything is accesible. Will come back again for a quick stay.
