We had a great time at the Astoria! We spent 4 nights here early September 2023 Very clean, helpful friendly staff, great location. The hotel is basic and the decor may be a little outdated (but I found it quite charming 70’s vibes I particularly enjoyed the gold lift) but I really can not find fault. We felt very comfortable here. Very clean environment, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The air con was also brilliant. Breakfast was simple but again I can’t fault what was provided. Fresh baked croissants, toast, cereals, cakes, ham and cheese, Eggs, tea coffees and fruit juices. They also have a lovely roof terrace with chairs and sun loungers. The location was great literally a minute or so to a little pebble beach. A 10 minute walk along the lake to the boats that take you across to the other towns. Very close to some great bars and restaurants Thank you for a great stay!

If you are looking for comfortable and affordable accommodation in Desenzano, here it is! The hotel and all the amenities are wonderful (notably the comfy bed, the delicious breakfast, and the well-maintained rental bikes). But what stands out most of all is the kindness and helpfulness of the owners and staff. A wonderful place full of wonderful people!

We had a nice stay here the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and very clean although in my opinion the furniture and décor is a bit dated and could do with updating however it is functional. The balconies are large and sunny. Breakfast was good with a reasonable choice we only had breakfast once so don't know if there are different items daily . The location its about 10 minutes from the centre for bars and restaurants and the ferry terminal and about the same to the train station in the opposite direction, 5minutes to Ins supermarket at the bottom of the street and around 15- 20 minutes to larger supermarkets. So its pretty central for everything. Disliked · Air conditioning very noisy had to turn it off at night and not very good during the day. Poor lighting in the room at night. Needs better access to the refuge bins. Soundproofing could be better. Hairdryer poor.

perfect location, just 40 to 50 meter to the place for buying tickets and boarding to Sirmione; lovely services, gentle and kind; breakfast with many many choices, and the foods themselves tastes really good; the shortages was that the bathroom is too small, and the door does not have a locking clasp when staying within the room. From the desk, to the room, to the pool and surroundings: I took a small break and found everything better than expected. A special mention to the restaurant and its service: I really felt special, liked the ambience, dishes where gorgeous and tasty and the service was so responsive and dedicated I felt like being in some fancy luxury venue. The good: the view from the room was fabulous, the included breakfast was wonderful, and the attached restaurant was very good. The one thing to be careful of (and it is on the check in notes is to not leave your door to the patio open, as gnats WILL attack). The great: we had a train to Florence scheduled for 0653 on day of departure. The night before, I asked about a cab because I wanted to be sure to get there on time. The lady working the desk, said...”no problem, 5 mins”, so since it's only a 5 minute ride to the train station, I didn't think much of it. Well the next morning, I get down at 0620, there are no cabs available. The staff kept trying to get in touch, but none were responding. We were caught in a catch-22 where walking would have been impractical but the cabs said they'd be available in 10 mins. Eventually, we were stood up by the cabs and the staff on duty drove us to the station in their own vehicle. I can't express how absolutely grateful I (and my wife) are for the hospitality. They went so far above and beyond what was necessary, and even more, saved us from complications that would have messed up our trip for days. Thank you again for being so gracious and helpful.
