We found this resort to be average, despite its billing as a ”5 star” resort. Even compared to other resorts in Sarande and Albania that we stayed at. Some challenges - appears dated, and unclean in areas (common walkways with carpet are stained) and corners and baseboards show visible dirt), internet is awful with intermittent access, availability and 2G service. We also had no hot or warm water in the afternoon when we went to take a shower after spending the morning outside. Our friends had a room that was extremely noisy into the evening, although that ended at midnight. The location was good, and staff were friendly. The included breakfast was very good. However, we had high expectations given its own touting, and was disappointed by basic shortcomings they need to fix.

Just home from Vila Kalcuni. The hotel is in an excellent location with a great view of the horseshoe bay, particularly at night. The suite with the large balcony is also excellent. We found all the staff to be pleasant and helpful. The breakfast whilst not bad could very simply be improved. 1 . Cook eggs as required 2. Improve range of cereals 3. Replace the orange juice with fresh orange juice. Very disappointing that the pool was not available as advertised. Clients should be aware of this before booking. We stayed 3 nights and was well impressed. We had been hesitant as all the Ksamil hotels are relatively cheap. The hotel was clean and the cleaners are evident in the communal areas. Breakfast was nice and fresh and ommlette cooked to order no exrra charge. Staff genuinely warm and helpful. We did half day at Butrint archilogical site well worth seeing and also drove to Peret to natural thermal spring a long drive through Girokaster. We had a superior side sea view room which was good size for 3 nights. Paradise beach just 5 mins away walk was nice and only 10 mins further to the main beach and view of the 3 islands.

We were travelling with kids and spontaneously looking for free rooms in Himara, that's how we found Vila Blu online. The owner was very friendly and supportive from the jump. The whole staff welcomed us whole-heartily and made our stay exceptional! We booked the king size room located at the rooftop. It's basically two rooms with two bathrooms, balcony, TV, lounge, fridge and of course air conditioner. It's big enough to accommodate up to 6 - 7 people. Everything is new and very clean. The view is breathtaking overlooking all of Himara bay. Traditional breakfast is included and it is always fresh - we loved every bit of it and the kids are still talking about the fresh baked cake! The guesthouse is located on the hill, so stairs are unavoidable. We had a small stroller but it was still ok to go up and down the stairs with it. All of staff were very helpful with luggage and pick up. They also help with excursions and other necessities to make your vacation an unforgettable one. It was a memorable experience for us and we will definitely go back - thank you :)

This was the second stop on our travel round Albania, we arrived around 1pm, there is no lift! (We knew this before arrival though) the location was amazing, right in the middle of everything in Vlore! My mum unbeknownst to me had been messaging the hotel to arrange a cake and Prosecco for my birthday (the communication on this was excellent for pre arrival) we got checked in smoothly and easily, we had a sea view room which was lovely and modern, quite compact but it was a boutique hotel so knew what we were getting! The view was amazing of the sea and the ***** out the front, on arrival there was a cake (saying ‘Happy Birthday Abigail’) and a bottle of Prosecco! The room was lovely and cool, after the first night we were a bit cold as there was only a sheet, we asked reception for a blanket and when we got back for the day they had put a proper duvet on the bed! The breakfast was good and there was a good selection to pick from. On an evening you walk out the door of the hotel and you are surrounded by bars and restaurants, our first night we went to the bar downstairs and sat and watched the sunset which was pretty amazing. The beach was nice just across the road, the hotel provided beach towels which was a lovely touch, there were dressing gowns which was nice and it had a fully stocked mini bar and espresso machine! It was all reasonably priced for it being there too, the amenities were amazing at this hotel, everything you could possible need was provided! The bathroom was nice with a good shower! We booked a transfer through this hotel from Vlore to Sarande as this was our next stop, the girl on reception was brilliant, she rang a taxi, sorted out all the details and gave us the price. On the day of leaving she rang the taxi to inform him we would be waiting downstairs, she also came downstairs and made sure we got in the right one once arrived, this was great service and made the transfer easy! We would definitely stay here again in Vlore!

I stayed out of season and the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating. An excellent stay, positioning is sublime and the views from the balcony were amazing overlooking the beach.

It didnt feel very safe as the room was poorly insulated and our balcony door didnt lock (we were on the 1st floor). The sheets were dirty, stained and with hair on them.
