I liked their hospitality and the staff is very friendly. The bathroom is clean

The hotel is close to the Qatar National Museum and a few other landmarks. Hotel acoommodation is reasonable. It has its own restaurant with excellent but disproportionately expensive food. Customer service is reasonable but there are rooms for improvements.
One negative aspect is, there is a general lack of awareness of health and safety.

We had a flight cancelled n got a free room n shuttle to the royal rivieras hotel . The service was wonderful as were the people. We also took a city tour with company and it was great as well. Beautiful city and great food. Try the mango ice cream anywhere.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. They will steal your possessions. We were put in this hotel after our flight with Qatar airlines was delayed. We thought it was okay, nothing spectacular but fine. My father left a wallet in the room so we called the hotel and the guy at reception said the wallet was there and he could send it to the airport. We said that wouldn’t really be possible so he said to email the details and we would arrange to mail it to us. None of the emails provided worked then now when we try to get the wallet back the people on the phone say that there’s no record of that ever happening and there’s no wallet. Clearly someone has stolen the wallet but the hotel don’t care and ignore any further contact. Avoid the hotel, the other hotels that Qatar airlines put people in were nicer so if they say they are going to put you in one then ask for a different one.

The cafe on the top floor was amazing, apart from the 1 odd occasion when it was slow service, it has been top-notch and cannot say anything less. Only would say it was a shame they could not show the football final due to not having the channel subscription. Apart from this - the service, the shisha, the environment.. it is more than value for money!

The hotel is a beautiful place to be, and nearest to the airport, the food was amazing. The staffs are very friendly. The rooms are very clean thanks to Mr Saeed for his amazing services and making our stay more enjoyable. It's an amazing experience staying here. I would visit again in the future for sure.

We stayed here courtesy of Qatar airways due to a delayed flight. As we missed our connecting flight in Doha. We were put up at the Royal Riviera along with the other affected passengers. It would mean a room and our meals included. We did not expect luxury, the hotel is located in downtown. Once the bis arrived, they took our passport and pointed us to the restaurant for breakfast. Actually the breakfast was a good spread, even with an omelette station. We ate well. After breakfast our room was ready and our passport was returned. It was a double room, nothing too fancy, it was in a good condition with all the amenities. We had a little snooze and then it was time for lunch. Once again it was a good spread, and I was surprised how good the food was. Even though we would only be here for part of the day. The hotel reception organised a driver for a city tour. We had no desire to spend the time at the hotel. By the time we got back it was time for dinner. Given the food I ate that day, it was a light dinner and once again the choice was plentiful. The hotel has a gym, sauna, a small swimming pool at the rooftop. The location is decent for downtown. You can walk to the souk, there are shops and places to eat nearby. The hotel would not be my choice if I was staying in Doha. It was more than adequate for a short stay due to a delayed flight.

We feel that some people have unfairly rated this hotel - we enjoyed the food ( vegan options) the location is good, the beds comfortable, the shower hot and the restaurant staff lovely ! Hannadine was smiling and helpful

Booked as a Qatar Airways stopover package and a most disappointing experience. We organised an airport transfer as arrived in early hours - not arranged. No reply to multiple emails prior to our arrival. On arriving at the hotel the reception staff were unfriendly and ridiculously slow with our check-in - we were the only guests at 0100! Throughout our stay the reception was unfailingly inefficient, unhelpful and discourteous - which was sadly also our experience with most of the staff we encountered. Clearly no effort made on customer service training. This hotel is in the older part of town and is clearly nearing, if not passed, the end of its working life and is now surrounded by building sites. The room was grubby - stained carpets, walls & bedding with a bed with a noticeable central dip. As remarked on in other reviews the shower surround leaks badly and the bathroom floor rapidly becomes a dangerous surface. The whole bathroom is mouldy and has not been addressed since at least 2015 judging by other reviews. As for facilities - the gym is functionally useless as the machines are old and broken. The rooftop pool is usable but small. We did, however, have a pleasant massage in the spa area. The 1st floor restaurant serves buffet meals - after having breakfast which consistent of an eclectic and random mix of foods none of which made a breakfast menu we declined to try the other meals there. The rooftop restaurant does have great views and after having to convince the waitress to serve us (see customer service training above!) we received an average but expensive meal. Whilst conveniently located for the National Museum of Qatar (well worth a visit) it is a taxi ride (Uber is available in the city and to - but not from - the airport) so take a taxi to any other eating establishment. Better still avoid this hotel and book any hotel in the newer areas of the city. This is not a 4 star hotel and Qatar Airways have done the hotel services and the city a huge disservice by recommending it in the first place. If you are transiting and only need a bed for the night then this might suffice for the price, and proximity to the airport. However for a holiday then avoid - there are better and better value hotels in Doha.

I had book a room and precisely asked for early check-in with additional cost due to my Journey, they confirmed and send me a confirmation letter, on my arrival day while I am in taxi I give a call to the hotel to make it 100% that i am on my way to the hotel, a Philipino lady answered my call without a proper greetings, any how I mentioned that I will be in the hotel in 15 minutes want to make sure my room is ready, her response was so unprofessional “what check in at this time no way” we don’t have rooms and if available by 12 noon You will get it by paying 100 QAR additional, I asked to check my booking which will have all the details and my additional charges as well, her response again was “no nothing is mentioned in the booking” I returned my taxi and booked elsewhere, this experience make me to put my review and turned me not to book in the future here. I totally understand if rooms were not available however the response and dealing your customers must need to be upgraded.

Even one star is to much , I would like to share my experience with the Philippino receptionist her name is Kathy she was so rude and she doesn’t deserve to work in the hospitality, and the sales Pakistani staff Tallat , he was giving wrong information for us only to sale his privilege card , be sure guys before buying anything from him , such those people will make your business below the zero , I hope the concern person will see my review and take serious action

We booked a deluxe suite at The Royal Riviera. We never noticed that our reservation had the word "Orangerie" in the booking. After we checked in, we were led to a building separate from the hotel, the above noted "Orangerie". Our hearts sank when the hotel clerk opened the door on a ground floor room and, after driving for several hours and looking forward to a beautiful room overlooking the sea, saw that our view was... bushes, a hedge. We immediately asked to be moved to a room on a higher floor and were told nothing was available for our first night but to pack our things the next morning for a room change. We were so happy they tried their mightiest to accommodate us. We moved into a bright, sunny 4th floor room (not a suite but considered "deluxe" so the same price...) with a fantastic view over Cap Ferrat and the Mediterranean. Our advice when booking is to make sure where your room is (ie not the "Orangerie") and don't be afraid to demand a room change. The price for top European hotels is extremely high, so one should be eminently happy with the room choice. The staff at this hotel was outstanding and helpful. Breakfast on the terrace is wonderful & there is a well-stocked bar adjacent to the lobby.

This hotel was shocking. We had to stay here as our airline carrier re-routed us, so the airline (Qatar) booked us into this dump. Obviously the cheapest accommodation available. We woke up to pools of water on the window and floors and informed by staff that it was because it ‘had been raining’. No one seemed alarmed or surprised! Disgraceful. Staff were nice but hotel is a dump, spend a bit more and stay elsewhere! Agree on cleanliness too, hairs everywhere, disgusting 😢
