Very comfortable luxury suite with a wonderful position just a few steps from the beach. Quality of food was very good but the menu (particularly breakfast) didn’t change and there was no variety. The food served in the bar area,however, was excellent with plenty of choice. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Dover beach was wonderful with plenty of sun loungers and shady places under the palm trees. We did enjoy turtle watching!

Booked this hotel as highly recommended on Tripadvisor and also via travel agency and so glad we did. Warm welcome from Jenni on reception and every member of staff made our holiday a memorable one, happy, helpful and very hardworking. Our room was perfectly positioned with a sea view and opened out straight to the pool, simply but comfortably furnished and kept very clean. We enjoyed excellent breakfasts, Suzy’s omelettes were always a treat….had a couple of meals in the evening which were good but we tended to go out otherwise. Entertainment by the steel band was superb. David in the sports facilities room was very friendly and helpful with lending out boogie boards. The hotel has a very warm and friendly atmosphere and we enjoyed the company of the other clientele, many of whom had holidayed there for years. We also hope to return.

We stayed here for 2 weeks and really enjoyed. It , we were a bit sceptical of it being a 3 star and some of the reviews but we had an amazing time , upon check in we were upgraded to a junior suite from an ocean view and the room was steps away from the beach . The staff are lovely from the Gardner to Rodney the pool man and all reception staff , the location is amazing , on one of the best beaches in the south , beautiful white sand , warm ocean , and very peaceful, we spent our days just relaxing , it’s about a 5min walk into the gap which has several great restaurants including mimosa , primo , harlequin , cafe sol , and the best bar we went in was the rum shop which has a great atmosphere or if you walk the other way you can eat with the locals very cheap, daddy’s was our favourite , we ate lunch in the hotel a couple of times and the food was very good , the rooms are quite dated and tired but are spotlessly clean and have every amenity you would want and let’s face it who wants to spend there time in a hotel room when the beach is that beautiful, we spent several afternoons up at Worthing beach which is about 10 minutes walk and has a couple of bars on the beach , a really nice spot to sit and watch the world go by , the hotel has happy hour between 6/7 and the service can be a bit sketchy which in 2 weeks is a very minor complaint , overall we loved it here and I would return tommorow

Just returned from the most amazing stay at this fabulous hotel. The hotel is ideally situated on Dover beach in the centre of st Lawrence gap. I would firstly like to recognise the staff who do an amazing job always with a smile on their face. Ken the bar waiter made my birthday celebrations memorable by going over and above with his actions he is an asset to the hotel. I water sports / maintenance guy worked tirelessly always with a smile on his face making sure the pool and beach area were pristine. The room although a little dated was spotlessly clean and serviced everyday to a high standard. The uninterrupted views across the clean sand and water made seeing the turtles that live just in front the hotel an amazing experience. The breakfast and lunch served at the restaurant was exceptional and good value for money served with an amazing vibe making the experience more enjoyable. Sundays steel band was a great experience and made relaxing by the water even more perfect.

This was our third trip to the Southern Palms, although it has been a few years since our last visit. It was my wife’s 70th birthday while we were there, and the staff couldn’t do enough to make it special. I emailed Jenni before arriving and asked her if she could organise a large bouquet of local flowers for my room and to charge them to my room account. On arrival the flowers were in our room much to the delight of my wife. On the day of my wife’s birthday the general manager Kelly had arranged a bottle of wine for my wife to be delivered to our room, a fantastic gesture and much appreciated. We were lucky enough to come across a Hawksbill Turtle laying eggs on the beach at the hotel one evening. The rooms are tastefully furnished and decorated, the bed was one of the most comfortable we had slept on. The air conditioning was very efficient and quiet. Excellent location for all restaurants and bars in the Gap. Would I go again- in a heartbeat, think the hotel will see us again next year.

Unfortunately we had a ground floor suite.our view was of a bush and the bearded fig tree. There was a problem with dampness. The floor had water on it, and there was no room for baggage. They said this was caused by sweating of the walls beause the air conditioner was not on high. They gave us a de humidifier that sounded like a tank Be sure to get a room that has been renovated, we did not. The staff was wonderful,but not a place to stay for older people.

Looking forward to our first time at southern palms, and after a 9 hour flight we were greeted with neither a cocktail or offer of water, but were told where the bar was.!! After a slight hiccup on check in (put in one of the budget rooms which we had not booked) we were finally offered a beautiful garden room and looked after by Corey who was amazing throughout our stay. Overall the hotel was immaculate with rooms serviced everyday, huge comfortable bed and all the amenities you need. The staff were all friendly and helpful. It's a great location and after the minor issues at the start of our holiday we had a fabulous time. In fact it was so good we are returning in 5 months time. We can't wait.

So pleased we chose Southern Palms. Brilliant location right on the beach with also alovely pool area. OK the rooms are slightly tired but very clean. But the location makes up for that. The staff are all very helpful and freindly. We were room only and had a couple of lunches there. The food was lovely. I definitely want to go to Bardaos again and would stay at Southern Palms.

This hotel is lovely, the staff cannot do enough for you, very helpful and friendly. Location 10/10, on one of the most beautiful beaches in Barbados, in my opinion. Stayed in room 315, fantastic views of the pool and ocean. Room clean and perfect for what we needed. Would definitely return.

Excellent hotel, amazing location right on the beach. Rooms are slightly dated and need a refurb however exceptionally clean, huge double bed and good aircon. We had a sea view room which had a spectacular view of the beach. Staff are great all very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Jenni Wilson on the front desk. She arranged our wedding and was outstanding from start to finish. She was so pleasant and helpful from start to finish.Hotel right next to all the bars and excellent restaraunts of the Gap. Food and drink good in the hotel.Had an amazing time and we Will return.

Only visited to see the Barbados Steel Band which plays 12-3 every sunday. They were brilliant and the best I have seen apart from the massive steel band at Shirley Heights in Antigua so not an equal comparison. The gentlemen are all of a certain age so recommend going within the foreseeable future. Nice bar/pool area

Just returned home from our honeymoon and amazing 2 week stay at this hotel and we absolutely loved it. We had a sea view suite (room 242) the room was a little tired but nothing to moan at! The views from our balcony were amazing. We spent many days on Dover beach watching the turtles in the sea which was fab! The staff at the hotel are all absolutely loved and do a great job! We ate here a couple of times and the food is great. Thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails, happy hour most days is great too. We also enjoyed complimentary afternoon tea by the pool a couple of times and the cakes were delicious 😍 The hotel is in a great location on The Gap and in walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Would come back and stay here again without a doubt! ❤️

We have just returned from another fabulous stay at Southern Palms Beach Club, there is something about this place, it is very special. This is the perfect place to relax and unwind, a beautiful beach front location and as there are only around 90 rooms you sometimes feel like you have the place to yourself. Also a perfect location to walk into the Gap of an evening and explore and enjoy the many restaurants and bars, we highly recommend Harlequin, Primo and Cocktail Kitchen. Noted that the rooms are a little dated, but do not let this put you off at all, the maids keep everything very clean and the gardens and grounds are kept in a beautiful condition. Wrap this all up with incredibly friendly, happy and helpful staff and must say a special thank you to Kellie the Hotel Manager for making us feel so welcome. If you are looking for somewhere to relax and chill out on a beautiful beach....you've just found it!

We stayed there for just over a week as a family with young kids and just had a room only and no food and had a suite so the kids had one area to sleep and us another plus kitchen area. First point is the bed in our room was not only huge but so comfortable and we really missed it when we left, the bathroom was good and of a decent size and the kitchenette had everything we needed to do ourselves breakfast and the kids snacks. The location of the hotel is great, its right on Dover beach which is really nice and the view from our window and balcony were amazing and its a very short walk to the St Lawrence Gap restaurants where there are some great places to eat and drink. The pools were really good and we spend most of the time in the main one but it was nice for a change to check out the the other smaller one. The staff were really nice, especially the tall sports guy who my kids loved and the cleaning staff were great and really nice. Its also great for wildlife, we saw loads of turtles in the sea right by the hotel, a regular humming bird outside our window each morning and night, lots of crabs plus we saw a tiny whistling frog which was of huge excitement for the kids as we had been searching all holiday. All in all a great trip and we loved both the hotel and the location
