OK so at first you might think this a back road but it has schools and colleges along it.
The location is like 15 min walk from port and maybe 20 from boulevard and loads of great street food.
Staff are not only helpful I'm sure the smiles they have were best I've seen
Thought it's an older hotel it has kept its majestic quality. With staff all wearing the same from head to toe. Gave a feeling of quality with room angel that reset the room daily. Been in a few that don't do this.

For a 5 star hotel, it doesn’t seem like it is and definitely not worth the price. -Poor amenities (Example, they offer a small thin bar of soap as a body wash. Why wouldn’t they offer liquid body wash? Also, some towels were overused) -They clean the rooms/bathrooms and change your towels after 3 days instead of everyday. There’s no pandemic anymore so why not clean the rooms everyday?! -Good food, but not enough choices for breakfast (Why wouldn’t pancakes be included in the options?Also, the coffee doesn’t taste good - strong and burnt tasting) -Nice staff, but they need more training: ＞Food Service is slow and inefficient. During breakfast and lunch, our food were served after hours of waiting. Some of our orders came incorrectly (not what we ordered). ＞Disorganize and lack in system. ＞They lack in staff both at the front desk and Sans rival Cafe. -They will charge you if you don’t return all your keycards. If this was a true 5 star hotel, you wouldn’t charge your guests for something cheap and disposable. Overall, our stay was ok (big rooms and nice pool), but lacking in amenities and training of staff. There are more cons than pros. Whoever owns this hotel seems like they are saving too much on costs. Never going to stay in any of the Henry Hotels in the Philippines.

I love this hotel. i have stayed here now many many times, and i have NEVER had a bad experience, so i thought i would finally write a DESERVED GOOD review. The Hotel is placed right at the heart of Dumaguete, everything you would want is with a few mins of the hotel, the hotel also provides trips to some of the popular tourist attractions. The rooms are always clean and fresh with daily room service, but in my opinion the only thing that lets the rooms down are the showers which sadly could do with more maintenance as often they are faulty in some way and poorly kept looking, but they still provide good supply of hot water. I have stayed in all of the rooms they offer, from their suite to the standard rooms, and all show the same levels of cleanliness and the rooms always feel welcoming. Free breakfast is provided and the restaurant is good and the food well cooked and presented , the hotel provides a full range of pampering service if you require some self indulgence. The staff are ALWAYS friendly polite professional and on hand for any reason and will always make you feel important and a valued guest. I have in all my stays at this Hotel had only ever had one problem which was dealt with professionally, immediately and satisfactorily,. This hotel is ALWAYS my first choice when i visit Dumaguete, and will continue to be so They have plenty of rooms and even as a walk in, i have never been turned away from being fully booked, Its always a pleasure staying here.... See you next time !

The room was better than I expected, how they set up the interior was really clever, I love how they’ve setup a multi-purpose table that can be useful for anything — eating, working, storage of some of my important belongings. The lamp was really nice, too. It actually looked pretty classy. And the bed is what I have hoped for, especially after a really hectic day. The life-size mirror was a plus.
I loved how they had breakfast served in plates but it came up with a complimentary buffet-style variety of drinks and some bread and jam. The marmalade and berry jam were really delicious.
The staff were really helpful and nice. They even recommended places to check out.
The place is across the wet market and beside the building is a pharmacy/convenience store.

A pleasant hotel to base ourselves for 4 nights to do the whale shark watching and the canyoneering. The large sliding door wardrobe was great to store all our luggage and belongings out of the way. The free secure parking was great for our hire car which we needed to access restaurants. The last dinner order at Eden was taken at 6.00 p.m. The beach was rocky and unappealing for a swim, but the infinity pool was great. Views were spectacular and we highly recommend this hotel.

I made a trip to the Philippines for my son's wedding. I was referred to Pura Vida by my new daughter in law who grew up in the area. Of the five resorts that I checked out online, this was by far the most appealing property for many reasons. I can honestly say that the entire visit was one of the most pleasant and wonderful experiences I have ever had. Having such a wonderful place to stay made my time with my son and his wife that much more special. And my daughter in law knows many of the staff. They all made me feel like family. I spent 16 days enjoying the Bird's Nest Suite, which was roomy, comfortable, clean, cool, and overall just great. I could not have been happier with the staff and the care I received from them all. They all treated me like family; from the restaurant, bar, office, and housekeeping... Everyone was so sweet and pleasant. The breakfasts included with my stay were good and plentiful. The other meals I ate at the resort were plentiful and good. My room was up 2 flights of stairs (good exercise) with a lovely view of the property and view through the trees of the beach. The propery and pools are lovely and so well maintained. Even all the property maintenance staff were friendly, always greeting me. I had a wonderful massage at the spa one afternoon. My home is in northern Nevada in the USA. I traveled about 30 some hours to get to the Philippines. Having such a beautiful, relaxing place to stay made my visit a joy! Thank you, Jovey, to you and your wonderful team for everything. I really hope to be back before too long.

One word to describe Bluewater Sumilon Island would be PARADISE! We were greeted by a mild-mannered receptionist (if i remember it right, Kevin) before we hopped on the boat. Sit on the first row, if you wish to enjoy the water splashes. We didn't mind as we were still wearing our swimmers from our whaleshark experience. We got there about 1pm, the room was ready about 3pm, but no trouble, because we enjoyed alone time in the infinity pool, took a nap on the daybeds, enjoyed a ”must order” halo halo on a buko, and fruit smoothies! What makes this place awesome is the staff, from the pool guy who picks up every leaf falling on the water, to the porters who helped our bags, to the friendly people at the reception and the dining area, even the nice ladies at the Amuma lounge. William's smile and attentive service is really heart warming. I'm not surprised why he's popular! Security is spot on! My husband flew a drone in front of our room and was told off 10 seconds later, which we are ok to abide. When snorkelling, I highly recommend getting a guide to the marine sanctuary. It's so worth it! It's good that the guides protect the sanctuary. There are only areas where you can snorkel, but plenty of fish, corals and clown fish. We stayed in premier deluxe room, which was very spacious, closest to the sandbar and best spot to watch the sunrise. Buffet dinner and breakfast are really good with plenty of options. Highly recommend, but would stay for more than 1 night next time.

Went to Oslob to swim with the whale sharks. Two families, total 9 pax. Needed a place to stay for the night, so we could start early at the whale place the Next morning. This place is perfect. Small but nice. Clean and easy parking in front. 2 minute walk to the whale place. Supervisor Mr. Ken was super service minded. Arranged so instead of queing at 04:00 in the morning, and wait for 4-5hours, he booked us a swimming at 07:00. Could not be better. Many thanks Mr Ken. Saved us some sleep and time in que. Next door is a restaurant. I really recommend Way Shack if you want a good experience of the whale shark swimming.

PPengguna TetamuI can't say enough about this hotel. Customer service was professional, efficient and welcoming. The staff never failed to greet me with ”hello sir” and wave and smile. Always helpful when I had questions such as ”what's the best way to get somewhere?”, Etc. Location is excellent with being close to the beach walk, many restaurants and access to public transportation. Property is well maintained and clean. My room was plenty big for one person but family rooms are also available. Only one thing that may bother some is the hot water was out for one of my 3 day stay. However this was a minor inconvenience for me and did not keep me from issuing this 5 star review.

I spent 5 night at Hotel Dumaguete with my wife and 5 y/o daughter. We had the best time ever. Very nice modern rooms. The staff were absolutely over the top being very accommodating, kind, and respectful. They are always smiling and will go out of the way to make sure you are happy and satisfied. The restaurant/deli in the lobby (Piapi Deli) serves up some really great meals at a very reasonable price. The roof top wine bar (The Pawnshop), is also very nice with an ample assortment of wines and cheeses. Conveniently located close to town and the famous board walk and boulevard with too many restraints to choose from. Be aware if you have children or you cannot swim that the swimming pool does not have a shallow end so to speak. 5 ft is the minimum depth getting deeper from there but very clean and very nice. 666772625Being new, the rooms are small, but neat and clean. They are very colourful, as you can see from the photos. There's a rooftop pool, possibly the smallest hotel pool ever, yet quite deep. Good for cooling off and for its views of the city. If there are sufficient guests, breakfast may be a buffet on the top floor, which is quite good. Otherwise, you only get to order a meal and one drink from the cafe next to reception. As is often the case in the Philippines, the choice is extremely limited in that case. It's hard to rate the hotel's value, when these are two vastly different situations. You can have 4 or 5 or more glasses of juice at the breakfast buffet, or only 1 if that's not operating. I'll be generous and rate it very good, but that assumes they supply the decent breakfast. If you get stuck with the cafe breakfast, I'd downgrade it to average.

All staff are very accomodating everybody gives quality service they kept on smiling,friendly and easy to deal with. They have Also restaurant in house. The food is superb 👌 Must try their menu of the day / Bestseller menu ☺️ They make you feel comfortable in All ways. Nothing compares ❤️

PPengguna TetamuMauvais choix pour ma part, maximum 1 étoile, situé dans le centre ville, l'entrée de cet établissement se fait au fond d'un couloir sous une arcade commerçante, pas facile à trouver ! Bon accueil, demande de dépôt 500 rp, pas d'ascenseur, ma chambre au 2 eme étage, on m'a proposé de monter mes bagages, quelle surprise, je ne m'attendais pas à un endroit aussi basique vu les commentaires et les annonces des escrocs Booking et Agoda; pièce sombre et vieillotte, il faut l'éclairage en permanence, pas de fenêtre, pas de table, ni de chaise, vieilles étagères abimées, même pas une bouteille d'eau ! 2 lits étroits, salle de bain avec douche. Par contre clim et wifi correct, ensemble propre. Vraiment déçu, de plus pas bon marché, je me suis bien fait avoir pas les avis de Tripdvisor....Complètement déconseillé.

As for me, we were wanting to explore the city and the neighboring nature destinations - so it didn't make sense to check in an expensive hotel as we didn't plan to lounge in the hotel. The room rates are budget friendly - the beds and the AC was okay. Room had a tv with cable, but wifi was not working most of the time, but its okay because Mobile data was strong enough as the hostel is within the city. The only issue I have was with the bathroom. It was nice, had a sink, a hot/cold shower and a large toilet. However, the bathroom had a divider on the floor separating the shower and toilet - but the toilet part of the room had no floor drain. So tendency is, if you spill or splash water to the toilet part of the bathroom, it will stay on the floor and would flood the other half. But all in all, the stay was great.

MmelrubinThe location of the hotel is convenient since it is at the center of the town. There are a lot of stores and restaurants/food shops nearby. The Boulevard is within walking distance too. Though we when we park at the basement, it was kinda dirty and creepy too. You have to use the stairs to go up to the lobby. But overall we enjoyed our stay there and its budget saver. The staff were approachable.
